OK, Can we all just like this post and then we can all move on with the meeting tonight... Yes if you've got Sky Q you've also got the Discovery+ app with Sports Yes Eurosport is a joke Yes the camera angles are crap Yes Tatum is Good/Crap (delete as appropriate) Yes they missed that pass Yes King's Lynn is not as good a race track as it used to be, because of the surface Yes why aren't they televising the Belle Vue match (every week!) Yes Buster is Satan/God, again delete as appropriate etc. etc.

They've picked up now we've started winning lol. Comparable to last season but Birmingham can barely sustain CL racing

Absolutely spot on! The guys a solid pro and the sport needs more of this kind of rider. Always gives 100% and that's all you can ask from any rider. You know there's not going to be any funny business with him missing meetings because of tantrums, gp qualifiers or holidays in Venice etc The trouble is how does the sport develop more Simon Lambert's, the type of rider who should be the backbone of the sport, when clubs bin home grown talent off as soon as they hit a dip in form. It's no wonder that our current crop of kids would rather ride elsewhere and not in the UK.

It's either Friday or he'll put another club out of business! Surely Birmingham going PL would be financial suicide

Do you know what extra initiatives Lynn have put in place to attract a crowd along to this televised meeting? Do you know what they have planned to fill the huge gaps in racing? Are they showing the broadcast on their big screen so the attending fans can watch along with the analysis, interviews and reports from other meetings?

Agreements can be changed

The Birmingham owner was saying on the podcast that Perry Bar will be available on Monday's & Friday's next year... make of that what you will

Good game that, I don't know how Poole keep doing it but fair play to them they do. Riss & King big let downs, Jake Mulford kept the Bears in it, really hit some form. Why on earth we were looking at a flashing white light when it was kicking off between Wright & Worrall god only knows! Super Speedway!

I can see a lot more track records going when the transponders start being used

Pretty special wasn't it in an otherwise pretty unspectacular meeting. Great team performance by the Lions and judging by their comments after the meeting most of them weren't very happy and there's a lot more to come. Where are the people that were calling for Max to be replaced at the beginning of the season after 2 or 3 matches?
-
You would have hoped wouldn't you, all you've got now is 1 happy group and many unhappy groups. Got to get these kids in!
-
For some reason they're doing a draw on the centre green for a competition to allow a scout group or football club etc. in for free. I have to ask why is it a "competition draw", surely they should be getting all of these groups in for free at some point during the season, these are potentially the next generation of fan, beggars can't be choosers!

Don't you know all threads lead to Poole

Don't forget you're talking to somebody here who saw his team win the 2019 CL and the club did absolutely nothing with it in the way of marketing it to the general public, let alone their own fans... home fans never even got to see the trophy! And a fan who followed his team in the league and was expected to travel over to KL to watch his team ride in their "home" leg of the pay off final and a fan who followed his club around the country supporting them in their quest to win the Jubilee Trophy (Summer Trophy) and is still waiting for his team to ride in the final of that competition! With all due respect to Guy Nicholls, who I don't know, but I suspect he was a Speedway fan and has pumped money into the club by the way of sponsorship because of that, a Speedway fan that has built a successful business? If there really was a tangible benefit to sponsoring a Speedway club bigger companies than his would be queuing up to sponsor riders & clubs, companies that are not fans of the sport but can see a clear and tangible benefit on sponsorship... unfortunately they're more of a man with skip variety of company and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that and I'm not knocking those who do come forward with sponsorship, there would probably be no Speedway without them. You say it's sport, that's what it's all about... is it? Is it a sport? When the captain of your team is riding for all and sundry and your manager is managing another club and your owner/promoter owns/promotes another club... is that a sport? For it to be a sport it has to have integrity, speedway has absolutely none bar from 4 riders racing 4 laps against each other, it stops as soon as they leave the track.

I remember seeing Sam Ermolenko turn up at Long Eaton once in his van and half the american team and a load of others getting out the back of his van... and they used to have a guy patrolling the car park to make sure nobody was sneaking in over the fence on the back straight lol
-
I think the point is what is the point in winning the title in tangible benefits? Are BV's crowds significantly up this year, is there blanket media coverage every time they ride? What was the prize money they won? Extra sponsorship gained? They just got a pot in the cupboard and an entry in the history books, which is ok for the likes of a village cricket team... but a professional sports club?

Jesus Christ! Even team managers are doubling up now! So we now have a sport where Promoters, Riders & Managers all double up... just when you think any more sporting integrity can't be lost, it happens again! -
