Speedway On Tv And The Internet In 2024
IainB replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Can anybody recommend a good IPTV provider? -
I very much doubt that SGP2, SON2, Sprint Races and (who cares) SGP quali would be shown on TNT, so sticking with a variation of Discovery+ maybe seems like the best option. I assume the Discovery+ app will still be an option in non UK regions? Maybe that and a VPN subscription would be the way to go?

It has been on a downward spiral since Sky paid up to get out of the contact early, BT Sport... and finally the indignity of Eurosport! Now we're faced with the prospect of Eurosport production at TNT prices. IMO it is still a product that is ideally suited to TV but lacks any innovation or in depth coverage because it's basically produced by work experience kids (and that's being kind) -
The obligatory response, of course, is neigh I won't 😂

Workington Winkers? 😂 -
Some positive news for once, let's hope it comes to fruition... and let's hope they don't use the Leicester track as a blueprint!

You're not suggesting the Regs are full of holes are you?

On a pure Speedway coverage quantity basis maybe, but TNT do broadcast World Championship Speedway alongside Premiership... and you get all of the other sport as well. I suppose being a Poole fan though, it's the lower level Speedway you're more interested in lol 😉😂 -

Do you have BSN? That equates to £41.66 p/m -

Last year Discovery+ showed: 17 Premiership meetings, including all of the play off legs 1 British Final 10 SGP's 3 SWC's 3 SGP 2's 1 SWC 2 8 SGP Quali's (meh) 2 SGP Sprint Races (meh) That's 35 actual meetings, for a price of £6.99 p/m based on a 6 month subscription that worked out at an amazing £1.19 per meeting. Even at £30.99 p/m that's £5.31 a meeting for "world class" Speedway (plus all of the other sport that will be shown), compared to BSN who plan to show 58 meetings (of varying standard) in 2025 for £250, working out at £4.31 a meeting the TNT subscription starts to look more appealing and competitively priced, it's just a bit of a bummer that Eurosport used to be free (included) for Sky/Virgin subscribers and now isn't, Discovery+ was included at no extra cost for Sky customers and now the sports won't, you could get the Discovery Standard subscription for as little as £3.99 p/m. -

It is indeed a sad day, Eurosport have been letting me down for more years than I care to remember, right from day one back in the mid 90's. Premier Sports seem the rightful heirs to their crown for anybody willing to pay their fees -

They'll definitely be on TV it's just a matter of where, how much it will cost and how easy it will be to get. Pre WBD it used to be free to air in uncontracted territories, not sure if that's still the case these days as WBD seem to have global reach. An increase of £6.99 a month (£3.99 if you managed to get a deal, I did) to £30.99 a month seems a bit steep!
