That's the trouble when you make ill informed comments based on what you see on socials... you'll be wanting brakes fitted to the bikes next! The track was in pretty good nick for heat 1, considering, the rain they had before heat 2 killed it and they shouldn't really have run the next 3. The track staff (seemingly just Andy Meredith) worked a miracle on it after heat 10 and it was the best it had been all day. This should either never have started, been called before heat 2, called just after heat 10 but it should never have been called after they did all that work to the track.

The sport? If medical officers are now allowed to call meetings off, then yes I'm afraid it probably is

That was the ref getting it wrong... just like he did in heat 4, no transponders needed, just eyes

This was a complete shambles from start to finish, from the late preview on the website to the non appearance of Kurtz and everything that happened at the stadium... worst event since opening night!

I was always under the impression that the referee controls the meeting at the "advice" of the home promotion. So if they want a drawn out meeting to boost burger sales etc. That's what they get... who knows though? The ref is (Sheffield's) Dave Watters... back to the sin bin for him!

I can't help but think that if this match was against any other team than Sheffield it would probably have been called an hour ago

Doesn't matter what time you start them as long as you start them on time and get the meeting moving along once you do with the threat of rain around... none of this happened

To be fair the track is looking a hell of a lot better now than it did when it did look like a ploughed field a short while ago. .. it's almost as if this Andy Meredith fella knows what he's doing!
