  1. It'll be interesting to see if Fricke continues his run and if by some chance Doyley gets fit before the end of the season, would Doyle come back into the GP's if Fricke was in the position to do something, top 3, top 6? Another good GP, it's been a pretty good year so far, with the exception of Prague.
  2. Why do riders keep disappearing behind the giant screen in the pits and holding their hands near their groins?
  3. It's a wonder that Pete Adams keeps showing up for DJ Woffy in the GP's, you get the impression that he doesn't suffer fools and wouldn't be wasting his time if he didn't think DJ Woffy's heart wasn't still in it.
  4. You do like his protective boot don't you? Perhaps he'll sign it and give it to you if he ever comes back
  5. Should be... good job he didn't pick up a ban
  6. Just been listening to the British Speedway podcast and they said it's on Discovery+
  7. https://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/22608/sgp2-r1-malilla-14-2024
  8. I know, maybe they should, they might be missing a trick
  9. Dayle Wood seems to have come on a bundle since last year. I don't know what he's like at Armadale but he seemed so much more in control and safer than last season. The automated starting system didn't seem to be in use tonight with the ref telegraphing his over elaborate button presses to anybody who cared to look at him.
  10. They were still projecting a $0.5m loss on it!!! (Whether that was for the benefit of TV though I don't know)
  11. Thankfully that livened up somewhat after a tremendously dull start. The top 2 points scorers made some bizarre gate choices in the semis, all part of the learning process though I suppose
  12. Is Kelvin stroking one off? Wtf!?!
  13. Heat 10 an absolute commentary and camera angle shambles!
  14. A lot of people call him Lindsey... even Lemo, so annoying
  15. Can somebody drop WBD a line and tell them how to spell Marshal
  16. Yes, but whose forecast? Look at the forecast for today, heavy showers across the country, Redcar are riding tonight, they could cop a heavy shower at anytime. Should they be allowed to cancel? Some clubs would and have in the past. I got stung at Scunny on Good Friday by an isolated shower that hit the stadium minutes before start time, sometimes you're just going to get unlucky and we as travelling fans have to accept that. But I do think more could be done by the authorities to streamline the decision making in such circumstances instead of us fans having to 2nd guess the promotions all of the time. In hindsight Leicester got it absolutely spot on yesterday and when a band of rain is crossing the country it's a much easier decision to make.
  17. The difference is if you call off on a forecast and it doesn't rain, you just look a bit silly, if you don't postpone on a forecast and what happens like what happened at Oxford last night, not only do you look at bit silly but you've also really really p155ed a load of fans off! There really does need to be some sanction on clubs who can't finish their matches off once started. In F1 for example a track is declared wet or dry and different rules kick in once that decision is made, you could do something similar whereby the SCB declares a day wet or dry based on the weather forecast, if a day is declared wet, then a club can still run but if they don't complete their match they are sanctioned (points deduction or match forfeit). FWIW, I thought Leicester made the right decision yesterday based on the forecast... but I also thought Oxford did an excellent job in getting the meeting on... until it rained of course! But if you are intending to run in those potential conditions you really need the track equipment and make-up to ensure you finish. I'm feeling your pain! Ouch!
  18. I was watching a bit of Welcome to Wrexham last night and they put a 2,500 seat temporary stand in at a cost of $1m, so if the SoN stand is costing anywhere near that amount then it may go some way to explaining the extortionate ticket prices!
