Barely... and there's quite a drying wind with strong sunshine today, the track is going to need to take some watering! -

Ellis did throw Wright a "hand signal" coming off the 4th bend, maybe wound Wright up... entertainment! great stuff! -
Can I suggest, if you don't have time to compose an email, that you use an AI to compose one for you, the results are quite remarkable! I've used Google Gemini (you'll need a Google account to use this) and entered: "create an email to Rugby Council in support of the restoration of Coventry Stadium, Brandon for speedway and stock car racing and other motor sports together with other community uses in the new Rugby Local Plan. Planning permission should not be granted for development proposals which would conflict with these objectives. Also include the need for leisure activities for local and national people". The text in bold is taken from the Save Coventry Speedway website and I've just added a bit to the end, you may want to replace with your own thoughts for a different text, the more you put in, the more you'll get out. The result: Dear Rugby Council, Subject: Restoration of Coventry Stadium, Brandon, and the Rugby Local Plan I am writing to express my strong support for the restoration of Coventry Stadium, Brandon, for the purpose of speedway, stock car racing, and other motorsports, alongside diverse community uses. I urge the council to ensure that the new Rugby Local Plan supports this objective and to reject any planning applications that conflict with it. The restoration of Coventry Stadium holds immense value for several reasons: Preservation of Heritage: The stadium is a historic venue for motorsports, holding a special place in the hearts of many local and national enthusiasts. Boost to Local Economy: Restoring the stadium would attract visitors from across the country, stimulating the local economy and supporting businesses. Community Benefits: The stadium can serve as a hub for a variety of community activities, providing valuable leisure and recreational opportunities for residents of all ages. There is a need for leisure activities for local and national people. Tourism: The stadium has the potential to attract national and international tourists. Granting planning permission for development proposals that would hinder the restoration of the stadium would be a great loss for the community and for the future of motorsports in the region. It is crucial that the Rugby Local Plan reflects the importance of this facility. I urge you to consider the significant benefits of restoring Coventry Stadium, to ensure its inclusion and support within the Rugby Local Plan, and to guarantee that all planning decisions align with the best interests of the community. Thank you for your time and consideration of this important matter. Sincerely, [Your Name] [Your Address] [Your Email] [Your Phone Number (Optional)] Obviously, give it a proof read and tweak if necessary and send to localplan@rugby.gov.uk

How about we all turn the TV off after heat 20 and just keep our own scorecards? Whatever goes on after heat 20 is their own circus 🤔

If the queues for the BV match are anything to go by I'd recommend buying in advance, I shall from now on. -

King's Lynn vs Leicester 14/04/25 Premiership R1
IainB replied to IainB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Just a side note... the commentator on BSN last night stated that Bomber wouldn't have been able to be selected for a Super Heat if he'd taken 7 rides. It didn't sound right, I've checked the rules and the maximum 7 rides per rider applies to the 15 heats only. -

Cook can't seem to catch a break in the UK at the moment (though maybe his wrist) Your boys were caught out by the track early on, not sure why it was prepared like that, if it was for Bomber, again I'm not sure why as he was riding it as good at the end of the meeting as he was at the start. -

Dan Gilkes imo, I hope he proves me wrong but I've not really seen anything from Sam Hagon, besides his U21 win, for me to rate him. He's got the name but the Hagon name is more famous for Speedway sponsorship than it is for Speedway pedigree, although Martin was quite decent on the Grass and Long tracks I believe. -
It says here that his new Polish club were paying him around £160,000... add that to his previous Ekstraliga earnings, Sweden, GB, GP, Monster Energy, etc. And you can easily see that totting up to millions over the years. https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/1181570/zuzel-stal-rzeszow-podjela-wazna-decyzje-w-sprawie-taia-woffindena

Good win for Lynn, can't help but think they'll be buggered when Bomber moves up from reserve, can't see many of the others banging in the kind of performances that Bomber does around Lynn. -

Weak refereeing from Christina Pitbull... interval should be after heat 11 and there's a maximum time written in the rules between races. "Except when the Referee considers that there are valid reasons for delaying the start of an ensuing heat, the interval between the finish of one heat and the start of the next shall not exceed 4 minutes including the 2 minute allowance" I wonder what the reason was that the ref considered valid? -

Does British Speedway still have a track inspector? Nice to see the return of the drop handlebar... they were all the rage in the 90's -

The daft thing is he's made 2 starts tonight and if he'd just ridden the line he'd probably be unbeaten. It's like he's trying to be Chris Harris and there ain't many of them about. -

Agreed, but... he's been undercooked (pun intended) so far by any standards. Maybe you wouldn't be expecting him to beat other teams number 1's but he should have the beating of 2 of the other riders in the race (maybe not in 13). His stats don't make for good reading http://www.gbspeedway.com/2025/riderperf.php?mc1=s&mc2=r&mc3=av&mc4=x&rider=Benjamin Cook&league=A&sort=date&comp=All&club=Overall He's not that bad a rider. -
