AJ pulled out of the meeting a few heats before the referee agreed the track was unraceable and abandoned it! Seems silly to fine him for this! -

AJ misses this meeting, still suffering effects of fall in Poland. But he will ride for Hammers tomorrow at Peterborough and at Arena on Friday. http://www.lakesidehammers.com/ -

Oh no, I didn't recognise you! Actually my mate next to me handed the money over for the race jacket as he was nearest, but I was sat next to him. Sorry I didn't say Hi. Woulda been nice to have finally met you after all this time. Come and say Hello next time you are at Arena, I owe you a drink! -

Great night! Pleased for Paul that the rain stayed away. Meeting Bo Petersen, Jan Pedersen, Andy Galvin and Rob Tilbury was so cool. Seeing Moggo, Troy Pratt and especially Robert Ledwith back on track and looking very good, brought a big smile to my face. Watching some very good racing, especially Leigh and Tomi going so well. Buying Leigh Lanham's race jacket at the end of the night topped of a hugely enjoyable evening. Who could forget Egon Muller's singing too? Brilliant stuff! Nice to see Paul back on a bike too! -

This will be such a good night with so many old riders & former Hammers on display, especially the 1991 best ever PL/NL/Division 2 team. I wonder which ones will be tempted to take to the track? Can't wait! -

Taken from www.lakesidehammers.com: World Cup Winner Rides For Hurry! Former Grand Prix rider and World Team Cup Winner Peter Karlsson, has agreed to ride in Paul Hurry’s ‘Battle Of Lakeside’ on 18th July 2008 at the Arena Essex Raceway. The Swede, who was victorious in the semi final round of the 2009 Grand Prix qualifier in his native Sweden last weekend, has agreed to ride for his former Wolverhampton team mate. Karlsson added: "Paul was a team mate of mine and we have had some good battles on the track since. I had a free week due to the World Cup and coming over to ride in his meeting was something I wanted to do." His appearance will be a major coup for Hurry as the fast and stylish Swede from Gullspang has decided to give Elite League racing a miss this season due to his heavy schedule on the continent. It promises to be a fantastic night for the likeable Englishman who has suffered more than his fair share of injuries during his career and the addition of Karlsson is just the start of more exciting news which will be announced over the next few days as Hurry’s big night approaches. -

Hard Racing Or Dirty Riding?
Cliv Clav replied to Stephen JIM Owens's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Clear as you like Gollob looks left then turns left across Jonsson's line! Much too early to be turning into the bend! Never seen Gollob do something as dirty as that, on purpose, for ages! Really disappointed in him. Tatum, Ermolenko and Richardson all said the same instantly! You don't turn left going over the start line on a track that size! -
Cool, I like Belinda Carlisle! Used to fancy her when I younger, circa Heaven Is A Place On Earth and Leave A Light On For Me time.

Thanks Anders. We need Adam fully fit for the Craven Shield Final.

Any reports on how Adam Shields was after his fall at Kumla? Not coming out for the re-run when it was such an important race, has me worried.

Just a convenient excuse for people to use when their team loses. Jan O Pedersen even stated what a good little track it was for passing! If you liked those races check out the others on the Hammers YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/Lakesidespeedway -

But this way the more skillful riders go through! Anyway, Oxford may end up getting this meeting if the idea to keep planning approval for speedway there happens.
