Workington v Glasgow 11/05/24 3pm (Ch)
topaz325 replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Most teams seem to be close to each other in the Championship this season , so fine margins indeed , Worky had some bad luck with Efs and re starts but so have other teams that will work against them. -

Good meeting and a decent crowd including many Tigers fans . Batch looking very classy today , and some tough races when Bomber was involved with some very close finishes on the line. Cookie missed out on another big score with belt failure when well ahead also Comets on a 5-1 when the race was stopped due to a collision the the restart resulted in a 3-3 but that’s Speedway. -
The Comets should be at full strength this week with Antti Voulas returning to the side to go up against a strong Glasgow outfit. It shows how strong the Tigers will be when two of there team (Starke and Pearson) guested for the Comets against Redcar last week and scored a combined total of 13 paid fourteen points , they will be backed up by a tough heat leader trio of Steve Worrall, Chris Harris and Leon Flint. Should be another cracker at the GT Tyres Arena.

Workington v Recar 04/05/24 3pm koc 2nd leg
topaz325 replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Agree but.....the track was conducive to good racing for example the classic race between Cook and Riss, also Connor Bailey said the track was good on Facebook . Having good track conditions is very difficult and there are not many times that track conditions are ideal with so many weather variations and track surfaces that are either starved of shale or too much, over watering, or under watering which can also because of weather predictions. -

The weather was a bit of leveller but fair play to Redcar they rode well for the win. Classic race between cookie and Riss until cookie fell off, hope he is ok. -

Glasgow v Workington - league - 3 May @ 7.30pm

Charles Wright excluded today at Workington in a similar way that Cookie was last night, refs seem to be firm on start times, which is fine as long as they are all consistent . -
May be a small thing but to title a topic Birmingham/Aces.... eh.

So the Comets are up against the Redcar Bears with 13 points to make up in this 2nd leg of this KOC tie. Erik Riss stands in for the injured Danny King , for the Comets Celina will be missing (riding on the continent) and Antti out injured after the nasty crash last Sunday. Will be a tough meeting for the Comets with big hitters in Riss and Wright plus Knudsen could pile up the points like the last time he was here at the Northside Arena.

Scunthorpe beaten by 18 last night at Berwick but I think the Northside track will suit the Scunthorpe riders better today, should be pretty close . 48-42. -

The justice system, sentenced for so many years then get out after serving half the sentence ....hmm, prison overcrowding and the backlog of trials.

Blobby the Dinosaur, already Celina getting criticised on this forum and other social media must be jealousy. I hope Danny King and Sam are ok after that Nast crash yesterday. Some fine racing and a good crowd down at the Northside Arena. -
Probably a few on this forum if you look on the general discussion section.
