This Saturday night sees the Comets take on the Peterborough Panthers in what should be a highly entertaining meeting as the Panthers side includes some top performers including Chris Harris, Ulrich Ostergaard and Jack Holder (Unless he is in Poland)
They also have good back up in Paul Starke and former Comet Simon Lambert, so Worky will have to come out all guns blazing!!
Yes I realise this but Workington struggling for points and up against Edinburgh , not to mention struggling big time to attract people to attend. So this does not help matters one bit!
Hodgy did say at the end of the meeting that both Mason and James had took heavy falls at Berwick on Saturday night, I do not believe James is riding to his full potential and it will not be easy for him financially to be scoring very little.
No one likes to see the team struggle but hurling abuse at riders does not help anyone.
Great to see Thomas Jorgensen flying around Derwent Park, and was well supported by Proctor and Cook.
Matt is riding a little better of late but still not where he was at the start of the season, hope he is soon knocking in the big points again.
No excitement just thought the pages could have been put to better use on discussing the problems within the sport or maybe rider profiles, supporter itemsetc
After last weeks home defeat by Ipswich Workington will want to get back to winning ways against their old rivals the Berwick Bandits.
The Comets should be at full strength apart from having to use a guest reserve in place of Rob Shuttleworth.
Let's hope for an entertaining meeting to help bring some of the feel good factor back to Derwent Park.
Has Speedway had a worse year....well we still have plenty more meetings to get through!!
Annus horribilis
Annus horribilis is a Latin phrase, meaning “horrible year”. It is complementary to annus mirabilis, which means “wonderful year”; however, annus mirabilis is a traditional term, while annus horribilis is of recent coinage.
