  1. Harris, Holder. Lambert. Nothing against these fine chaps.
  2. Some great races that involved Chris Harris. Alfie Bowtell showed his inexperience when he skittled into James Sargeant, nasty crash ensued!
  3. Mason Campton withdrawn tonight at Workington after two rides, nasty crash in his first ride.
  4. Any news on the fixture with Workington is to be re run, November 5th?
  5. Thanks Phil for putting into print the state of British Speedway and the feelings of most Speedway fans.
  6. The Comets are up against their North East rivals on Saturday night the Newcastle Diamonds in what should be a close fought contest. Hopefully there willbe 14 riders on show not guests and r/r. The weather is looking a lot better for saturday after the heavy rain on Thursday and predicted showers on Friday.
  7. I must admit sometimes it feels like I go out of habit rather than enjoyment. A few years ago I used to stand with a group of about ten people now its down to about four or five at best, a few weeks ago I was there on my own. My girlfriend usually goes but this season she usually spends more time on her phone or reading a book! Her reasons for not enjoying it as much these past few years, too much tractor racing, long drawn out meetings, no atmosphere and the racing is usually processional and fewer people in the social group who used to be there. If I do got away meetings its only to Glasgow, Belle Vue or Sheffield......I wonder why?
  8. Promoters need to learn lessons from other tracks and other sports, maybe money is an issue but some things could be changed for the better with little or no outlay.
  9. Not all tracks have enough people attending to support riders wages.
  10. I was going to come up for the Workington meeting but the forecast is looking very poor, oh well maybe next time.
  11. Paul did not do very well at Worky last night, he had a couple of efs and looked off the pace, maybe not fully recovered?
  12. Better fixture planning would help to, it seems most years teams are rushing around in August and September to fit meetings in but have no meetings or very few in May and June. Workington still have to fit at least 2 or 3 meetings in but have not been arranged as far as I know?
  13. Some good races despite the scoreline, this included Mat Williamsons excellent win over Ulrich Ostergaard which was worth the admission money alone! Another was Thomas Jorgensens last to first surge past two Peterborough riders on the home straight with lighting speed. Good to the see the crowd levels up slightly from the week before despite the weak oppostion from the Panthers team, Speedway really is in a mess with bad fixture planning, guests and riders riding on the continent in every thing form League speedway, u21s, Gp qualifiers, Longtrack and GP,s. I am in two minds about one or two night Speedway in the UK , it might work for the Premier League but not for the Championship, but who knows what the future holds, I do know one thing though, Speedway needs a mighty shake up this close season not just the usual tinkering of the rules and the headlines from the BSPA that the new season will hail the dawn of a new era of Speedway.
  14. Going to this GP, (2017) my first visit to Polish Speedway , really looking forward to it. Flying in to Bydgoszcz from Glasgow.
  15. Maybe not Peterboroughs fault entirely but this does not help attract the crowds to Workington, once again Speedeay shoots itself in the foot.
