True , is pencilled in at reserve .......if we run.
-
Workington also applied for Friday but were refused.

Some good news with the abolition of the TR and fixed race nights for the Premier League , which should help matters, I still think much more could have been done however ie with prompt start times and meeting running shedules. Its good news that the Workington Comets are still in business but I cannot see where more fans are going to come from, running with attendances between 300-550 people cannot be viable again next year.

Because Glasgow and Scunthorpe applied to, nothing against Worky promotion but there was no Promoters at the AGM from Workington due to family reasons.
-
None of the Workington promoters attended due to family commitments

Workington applied to run on Fridays but we’re turned down because Glasgow and Scunthorpe had applied to run on Fridays

Who Finishes Where 2018

As always difficult to predict 1Dudek 2Woffinden 3Doyle 4Zmalik I give up after that, I think Cook will have about 2 or 3 decent GPs but may struggle in the rest, Pedersen to have a bad year even though I would like him to be back to his best. As for Hancock could be top three or struggle to make top eight! -
I feel the product needs some set standards that need to be adhered to across all clubs. This includes prompt start times, no long drawn out meetings, riders having some real attachments to clubs not just riding free lance which has got to now, no TR rule, better presentation, tightening up of the rules....some of the things that have gone on in 2017 have been laughable. Do I think things will change for the greater good in 2018.....no.

Ben Barker in for Craig Cook -
He does (PC) have a point regarding the state of the sport though He also says that referees get a life time pass too.

This Sums Up The State Of British Speedway For Me...

Fans have been saying these words for years now but many promoters seem intent on burying their heads in the sand and blaming fans for not attending to watch a inferior product Do promoters not realise the strength of feeling that many have towards the sport! -

Speedway seems to be its own worst enemy and shuns exposure keeping to its own world of tight knit media franchise. To hell with any one or organisation that tries to advertise Speedway!! -
Craig will miss Workingtons next away meeting at Glasgow on friday night (guest allowed) and with r/r for Thomas Jorgensen and Matt Williamson out injured its very doubtful that i will be making the trip to Glasgow. I can see the wrongs and rights from both sides, the BSPA by allowing the rider to recover from illness (or not ) and Craigs genuine illness but his teams lose out. http://speedwaygp.com/news/article/6177/cook-forced-out-of-cup

Championship Rider Final 24/09
topaz325 replied to SCB's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
I am workington supporter and have no problem with Glasgow speedway, in fact i have been quite a few times and they have some decent freindly fans. I went last night mainly to see some good racing but was a little disappointed that there was no representative from Worky especially as Mason was in the pits with Ricky Wells and apparently there was also another rider there too. As for last night Glasgow Speedway must be congratulated for putting on a good show for the fans, ok most of the races were processional (mainly due to the rain affected track) but the meeting was kept going very quickly. The presentation and facilities must be one of the benchmarks that many clubs must aim for if possible. The only sad thing is that I had to leave before the semi and final to catch my train! -
