BT showing speedway GP highlights from 2019.

I enjoyed the film mainly because it was about “Speedway” and the riders were familiar , Cook, Bickley, Jensen, etc, oh and I recognised some of the Glasgow fans (good people). it probably appealed more to fans that attend already rather than attract new ones but if it brings in just a few then all to the good. I was hoping to see a more in depth personal view of the riders, eg the travelling , preparation etc.

I have hotel and tickets booked for Cardiff and hopefully it can go ahead on the 18th of July but the longer this goes on the less likely it will go ahead on that date. There are big issues to sort out when eventually the cases subside , which will take months to come to fruition.

And there’s the truth.

SON now scheduled for 24th and 25th October 2020.

As was said today on tv, we are only as strong as the weakest country regarding the virus. To get anything back to some sort of normality is going to take a long time when the virus is gone. Imagine if in a few months Europe got back to "normal" but the virus was still active in other countries , we would be back to square one very soon with another surge of cases. Speedway could come back later in the year but with any riders flying in I,m not so sure....

It would be easier to make your own version.

Probably the broadcaster at the time, sky sports, Eurosport’s, BT sports.

Tony Jackson said in this weeks Speedway Star that he was going to organise a 50th year celebration of Workington Speedway but with his health problems and the Coronavirus outbreak it will now not be happening.

Some good ideas, unsung heroes of tracks (volunteers), ex riders stories, fans stories, fan photos (amateurs), many have been done but just kicking a few ideas around.
