  1. I think the sprint points Bart got in Wroclaw could prove costly for Kurtz at the end in Voyens
  2. Bsn must have mixed it up speedway star advertised it too Berwick v Workington .
  3. Edwards scored 6 plus 1 when guesting for Nagel at Workington, maybe Nagel would have scored more who knows.
  4. Or Waldorf and statler....on a serious note I think the Poole team may have done just enough to win over two legs, if Glasgow had kept it to 9-10 pts they may be favourites but its not over yet..........
  5. Back to the 6 pm start this weekend but on a Sunday evening when the Comets take on the Berwick Bandits for our last home League fixture of the season, where did that year go!! This meeting sees a return of former Workington favourite Peter Kildemand who will feel at home on the wide open spaces of the Northside track. Berwick will be no push overs and pose a real threat with a strong top five and two reserves in Dayle Wood and Jack Smith who have ridden the Workington track a few times in the past. Hopefully this weeks rain will not have too much affect on the track and Berwick bring lots of fans over , this really makes a difference to the atmosphere and brings in much needed revenue.
  6. Not sure it was the SCB who shared it on social media.........could be wrong ?
  7. My first year watching Speedway , 1978 Derwent Park Workington v Berwick... The smell, the speed, close to the fence within touching distance to the riders... Brian Havelock (my first favourite rider), Ian Hindle etc.. Oxo drink, meat and potato pie, Cheese crisps...
  8. Great win for the Comets and a fine team performance . Well done lads . The comments from a few Glasgow fans is simply embarrassing , fortunately there are plenty of decent Tigers fans who took the defeat as it was , ie a bad day all round not like some who blamed the track and lack of passing , maybe I was at a different meeting. Good to see plenty of Glasgow fans at Worky , I hope you go on to win the title .
  9. Edwards very good guest for Glasgow , fitness of Vinnie is still to be decided. Makes Glasgow a bit stronger in my view , going to be tough for the Comet's, we need our gating gloves on and to be on it from the start , the part few weeks the Comets have been slow to get dialled in to the track .
  10. Another blockbuster meeting at the Northside Arena against a strong Glasgow outfit who hold a narrow lead for the bonus point after Workington put up a good fight at Ashfield. Make no mistake Glasgow will be out to take all the points back North even though their play off position is secure. Glasgow have a power packed top five although Nagels to my knowledge has never been to Northside before i,m sure he will be amongst the points on Saturday. Hopefully Vinnie will be fit to take his place in the team after a fall at Oxford last Sunday. Oh and dont forget its back to a 3pm start this week. Good luck Worky!!
  11. If Redcar were in a similar position and needed League points would they have been keen to run it.
  12. Yes MPT has lost some form this year was once a formidable heat leader , maybe his injuries have affected him. Remember him winning the Peter Craven meeting in 2022 against a strong field .
  13. Good effort by Workington, just missed out on the bonus point , we have a rest now before the big home test against Glasgow tigers. Hope Vinnie is ok, possible broken hand ?
  14. Agree , Jye going above and beyond the call of duty to ride yesterday and scored some good points .
  15. 2011 Edinburgh v Workington 48-41 Workington James Wright Peter Kildemand r/r Richard Lawson Rusty Harrison Tom Topinka withdrawn collided with mechanic on parade. Charles Wright Kenny Ingalls Saw this when dumping hundreds of programmes.
  16. Should be a fairly comfortable win for Tigers but Killeen , Masters , Knudsen and McDiarmid could score ok. Also can Worky ride their next away fixture (2026) against Edinburgh at Glasgow please.
  17. Tough night tonight at Edinburgh, hope Jye is ok after another fall, we go again tomorrow but it will not be easy most of the Monarchs go well at Northside.
  18. Hopefully the Comets can be competitive but recently we have struggled at Armadale.
  19. Weather looks to be fine and warm on Saturday with a high of 21 degrees at 6pm, hope you enjoy your first visit to Northside .
  20. After last weeks tough match against Oxford the Comets are back in League action looking for more points to lift them off the bottom of the table. The Monarchs bring a decent side to the GT Tyres Arena and will be eager to push the Comets all the way. Its a busy weekend for the Comets with away matches at Edinburgh on the Friday and a trip to Oxford on the Sunday so a testing time for riders and machinery.
  21. A later bulletin also said Poole to be suspended for 2 weeks and Oxford awarded the pts...................ill get my coat.
