  1. Weather set to improve after todays monsoons, more local flooding.
  2. Workington have an up hill task to say the least to pull back a big lead from the first leg of this BSN semi final against the Pirates. Personally if the Comets get a win on the day I will be pleased.
  3. This Sunday afternoon fixture will see the Comets looking to get the fourth place in the league and get that play off position depending on how other results go .... Not sure at the moment who will guest for Workington or the full Plymouth side. Hopefully the weather will be ok as there have been some very heavy spells of rain this week.
  4. Averages are not the be all and end all but top three home averages out weigh Workys top three away averges...this is not unusual I know, riders are human and have off days ...just that Kemp, Cookie and Batch had bad days at the office. It was always going to be defeat but I thought the Comets might have got 37-38.
  5. Dont know the problem with Batch , he scored reasonably well at Ipswich when guesting for them recently and is usually our top points scorer on away duty.
  6. Result was not unexpected though I thought the score might have been a bit closer this time. Oh well.
  7. Just checked on booking .com and plenty of rooms available some at £100 less for two nights than last year.
  8. What was the attendance last night , looked quite low from the TV pictures.
  9. Mostly injuries I think which has affected Berwick season
  10. So its a change to Sunday afternoon racing this weekend which sees the Comets go home and away against the Bandits from Berwick. Workington have guests Erik Riss and Simon Lambert for Craig Cook and Tate Ziscke.
  11. Very good afternoon of racing at Workington against Redcar when all the riders seemed to enjoy their days racing . Workington got the win and Redcar got the bonus point though a home win looked to be going against us mid meeting . Good to see a large contingent of Bears fans at Northside with their banners and flags . Man of the match for the Comets goes to the flying Finn , superb from Antti . As the Belle Vue colts manager said in a recent podcast “ A successful meeting is when all 14 riders go home safe and well “.
  12. Great fighting display from the Comets last night Redcar were well worth the win but the Comets can be pleased to keep it to 10 points so will be hopefully in the hunt for the bonus point today! As previously said Batch was superb last night and looked fast and comfortable on the track. Also thank you very much to Jordan Jenkins for his fine performance .
  13. The Comets side this week go looking for League points after last weeks home defeat from the Poole Pirates but its another tough meeting against the Redcar Bears. Its a much changed Workington side with Ace Pijper in for Claus Vissing (personal reasons ) and Leon Flint is the guest for the injured Tate Zischke , also making his home debut is new signing Paul Starke. Meanwhile Redcar have James Pearson in as a guest who can on his day go very well around the Northside Arena.
  14. Premiership side apart from Foord.
  15. So potentially a team could have one or two premiership riders or seven premiership riders .
  16. Should there be a rule on the number of Premiership riders in a Championship side.
  17. Celina dropped from the Comets, thanks Celina for all your efforts , good luck in the future .
