With the gates of the Principality Stadium opening at 3.30pm for Speedway and the event scheduled to finish at 8.30pm, Westgate Street will be closed in its entirety between 3pm and 9.30pm. Access to the Civic Centre will be controlled throughout the day, with access allowed only for event parking; access to the Speedway Fanzone; limited commuter parking, loading and access to private car parks. Roads affected include King Edward VII Avenue, Museum Avenue, City Hall Road, College Road and Gorsedd Gardens Road. ➡️➡️➡️Trains There will be widespread disruption to the rail network on Saturday August 13 due to industrial action by the train drivers’ union ASLEF. Transport for Wales (TfW) is not involved in the dispute with ASLEF, but their services are expected to be extremely busy as Great Western Railways (GWR), West Midlands Trains, Avanti West Coast and Cross-country are not operating any services at all on Saturday August 13. TfW is advising people to only travel by rail if their journey is essential on the South Wales Main Line between Carmarthen and Newport and between Cardiff and Lydney. Please plan ahead and check full timetables (available from 9 August) on the TfW website and online journey planners before you travel. Where services are running, they may be subject to late-notice changes. ➡️➡️➡️ Civic Centre Event Day Parking Getting there: Exit Junction 32 of the M4, head south on the A470 towards the city centre and follow signage to the civic centre. Those who live locally in Cardiff may want to travel by bicycle or walk. Research shows us that 52% of car trips made in the Welsh capital are less than 5km. This is a distance that can be comfortably cycled in 20 minutes. We also know that 28% of Cardiff residents who currently do not cycle would like to do so. When the roads are congested this makes cycling an even more attractive option as travel by bicycle would be quicker than a car during rush hours or during big events. ➡️➡️➡️ Shopping Parking Shoppers are advised to make use of the dedicated Shopping Park & Ride sites at Pentwyn or County Hall. Or city centre car parks are also available: North Road Car Parks, St David's Shopping Centre, John Lewis, Capitol Shopping Centre, and NCP (Adam Street, Dumfries Place and Greyfriars Road.) ➡️➡️➡️ Disabled parking Disabled drivers are advised to use Sophia Gardens. Disabled parking is also available at various private car parks. Please check individual websites for availability. ➡️➡️➡️ Taxis St Mary Street taxi rank (outside the House of Fraser) will not be affected by these events.
  2. It’s going to be very busy , quite a few events on Saturday in the city .
  3. Yes , what if innocent could he claim for loss of earnings and from whom, BSPL, SCB? It did say in last weeks SS that it could be from pain killers he was taking?
  4. Yes, I think that's the usual finish time .
  5. Not sure could be to do with costs ie cheaper than paper tickets and postage , also cuts down on touts getting tickets and fake tickets , however there will be still scams about selling fake apps/ ticketing I would imagine.
  6. Agree but didn’t help matters when “they” changed from the principality app to the see tickets app.
  7. Easy for me to say in hindsight but maybe a statement before the final could have been put out saying "Adam Ellis will be the wild card for this year due to the COVID situation last year, wild card resumes next year for the winner of the 2023 final." I'll get me coat...
  8. £10 discount on the restaging event , according to statement, details to be confirmed.
  9. It’s not about how well Adam Ellis or anyone else performs at Cardiff in my opinion.
  10. I have not said anything nasty about Adam Ellis , I just dont agree with the outcome (it's a forum) its just messy and not just the weather, as said previously the biggest wrongdoing was to keep the fans hanging around in the rain for such a long time.
  11. Yes brilliant , nothing against Ellis but personally I do not agree with the decision, just call me an idiot , thanks.
  12. When you think you have seen it all......keep the fans waiting in the pouring rain , then make a silly decision like that , I give up
  13. If its off what is the re run date , especially with Cardiff less than two weeks away.
  14. Paying £££ for 3 nights in a Cardiff hotel in the city centre but it’s my choice , then two nights in Glasgow for the GP challenge the weekend after.
  15. Not feeling ripped off with ticket prices at Cardiff particularly but maybe hotel prices but I only go every two or three years .
  16. Similar success with team GB speedway team though, it’s the grass roots and leagues like the women’s game that needs constant improvement
  17. Cant see Cookie being fit for the meeting after the crash on Friday night.
  18. Well done to team GB , topped the score chart at the end of qualifying , Silver is still a great achievement.
  19. Broken collar bone and shoulder (dislocated) injury for Masters, hip , hand and thumb injury for Cook. Dislocated finger for Fredriksen.
  20. He was only on a one month visa initially , then were hoping to quickly get the next visa sorted .
