The crowd figures at DP at the start of the season were quite healthy and could support the team financially but for what ever reason the attendances have fallen

Thats right but no guarantees that a big crowd would turn up for £10.00 a head

So if the normal size crowd turned up 400-600 the managment would be worse off.

Workington take on the Lions from Leicester in this PL fixture, could be a tough one for Worky with the likes of Niemenen, Bjerre and Karlsson riding for the opposition. Hopefully we can attract a big crowd to Derwent Park on Saturday night to try and secure the future of Speedway at Workington.

Not a bad result for Workington, well done lads.

Hard to fathom when reading some of the comments on this topic.

This forum is going down hill fast, i,m all for people having their opinion but to constantly have negativity amonst so called fans is doing no one or the sport any good.............. i despair, maybe some people do not want the sport in Cumbria to survive.

Run under the constraints of Speedway, ie unable to account for the number of people attending, rising costs. Away from Speedway, able to be more competitive and raise costs just like other companies have to in the economic climate.

Sad day for Workington speeway its riders and supporters................to cap it all ive just read this, which is mostly crap/tripe. Little wonder the club is in this situation.

Back to last night Morris was superb for the Tigers only beaten once by a tough ride from Lawson, it was a pity the match had to be called off before the last heat but the conditions were already bad and were getting steadily worse.The result could have gone either way with a probable line up of Morris, Bager, Lawson and Bach. Both sets of riders are to be congratulated on riding in terrible conditions towards the end of the meeting. Such a pity that Workington seem set to finish the season with most of the team on the injured list and still involved in three competitions while having to go in to matches with guests and r/r. Good to hear that a large amount of money was raised for the injured riders. Thanks to everyone that contributed in whatever way they could.

Will Worky dip under the 40pt mark for the first time this year.......er 55-37

Has the r/r facility got a limit on its use, can anybody here come up with some alternatives?
