Why , one point defeat away from home, as with the League and in matches its how you finish not how you start!!

Good effort by Workington, a good team performance.

The re starts did not help either side, seems like ref's interpret the rules in their own way. Newcastle are a strong side and will be even stronger when Andrew Tully returns as his r/r points only totalled 5pts. Lewis Kerr is a great prospect and could prove to be the Diamonds improved rider that helps them towards League success.

Agree with the prompt start times, keep the meeting flowing if possible and the interest up. I know its not always possible with re starts and falls, etc but it can only be a good thing to have a definite start time, especially in the cold weather we have been experiencing lately.

Many fans in the PL giving teams/riders stick this early in the season, PL has not even started yet, some people need to get real...........but they will not.

BBC weather has a dry day up until 6.00pm then rain, hope they have got it wrong!

Worky will hope to bounce back from their one point defeat at Redcar on Thursday night when they take on the strong looking Diamonds side in this League cup match.

Started off well with a win and looked on the pace, worth persevering with.

I thought the weather was quite mild.

Dissapointed to lose tonight but all the lads tried their best, we can only get better, keep up the good work Comets riders. Oh Bears fans only woke up after heat 15!

Not a bad meeting on another cold night at Derwent Park, the score was kept close until ht 6 where Tero and Richard got a 5-1 over Kus and Greenwood (Kus came in last after a poor gate!). A good all round team performance for the Comets, Chris Mills got five points and would have probaly been seven if not for a chain coming off in ht 4. Ride of the night came from Rusty Harrison in ht 12 when he passed Summers (ef) on turn 3 and 4 then went after Dyer and passed him on the backstraight on the last lap. Dyer was the star rider for the Bears and will not be in the reserve birth long if he can carry on this form.

Ouch bad news, speedy recovery.

Workington Comets meet the Redcar Bears at Derwent Park in this League Cup encounter and the Bears will hope to improve on there recent home defeat by the Newcastle Diamonds. The Comets will have new recruit in Chris Mills in for Mason Camton who has been refused a visa entry in to the UK. Hopefully Workington will track a full team with Tero Aarnio returning from injury having missed the away defeat at Newcastle. Weather...............it will probably be COLD.
