  1. Workington Comets versus the Bandits from Berwick .....guest for the Comets will be Jan Graversen plus r/r, so could be a tough one to win. Rain forecast for Sunday.......who knows, come over any way Bandits fans.
  2. Best wishes to Rusty for a full and speedy recovery, Edinburgh fans trying but failing again in the fairness League. Admit the defeat and other fans will be more fair wth "you". Young Nathan Greaves did well to hold off Sedgmen for a Comets 5-1. Must admit i left after Rustys crash a bit sickening to see right in front of me, plus it was freezing and i thought that would be the last race of the evening.
  3. The Comets take on the Dukes of Edinburgh in another tough one for the Comets who hope to take revenge on the Monarchs after last weeks defeat at Armadale. Weather......rain forecast all day clearing about 5.00pm........
  4. Is there any financial return for the fans who only saw 12 hts.
  5. How did the ref get the decision so wrong in heat 1.......then is just went downhill fast.
  6. Some good racing, surprised Richard Lawson did not win more races but Glasgow are a strong side from 1 to 7 and all capable of winning races. some tough no prisoners riding from Kyle well backed by Ricky , Rusty and to a lesser extent Rene who suffered from mechanical problems. Nice touch from some of the Comets fans to boo Richard Lawson, very classy.
  7. The Comets take on the Tigers from over the Border with a strong looking side which includes Workington favourite Richard Lawson. Glasgow to push the Comets very close.....47-43! Not sure if Rene Bach is fit to ride tomorrow?
  8. It was great to see Gary back on a bike at Workington on Saturday night at Rustys testimonial meet, also the interview Gary had with Hoggy after his ride where Gary said he had some dark times after the accident but is in a better place now and is getting out and about doing things and keeping busy. He did say he would like a job in Speedway but has had no offers. Also after Gary had been round Simon Lawson came out and did a few laps on a motocross bike and popped a few wheelies!! Two great inspirational men.
  9. I hope to get up to the League meeting in July , used to get some decent photographs at Glasgow but unfotunately Photography not allowed at Speedway anymore.
  10. I have a subscription but its two days late.......just as well i bought an extra copy yesterday
  11. Workington P and P 2015: https://www.flickr.com/photos/24294606@N04/sets/72157651699225715/
  12. Good to hear Robbo came away relatively unscathed after a nasty crash. The meeting started very well for the Comets with two five ones and then never really looked back and won very easily in the end,not helped though by Robbo's unfortunate withdrawall. The Bears looked weak but were probabaly a bit race rusty, srill too early to say after one meet. The Comets looked to have a strong top five but it was the reserves that stole the show for me , with young Nathan Greaves lokking steady and Nicky Barrett fast and furious.....still like the Bears its early days but a good start what so ever. Oh it was cold.
  13. Probably one of the most open GP series for some time, could make a case for most of the riders in this years series.. Herbie, Holder, Tai, Nicki, NKI, AJ,KK, Hampel.....etc I will go for NKI, Holder and Tai.
  14. Always enjoy the away meets at Glasgow win lose or draw.
  15. Looking forward to the trip up to Glasgow this year.
  16. Are we there yet......... Middleditch has been saying for months now "We must make a decision soon ".....
  17. Dont know what youve got till its gone...........
  18. Workington fixtures out 10:00 am tommorow.
  19. Lost for words, hope the Testimonial goes well. Best wishes to Ricky and his dad.
  20. Kenneth Hansen rode for Workington about five years ago (i think) not sure how many away tracks he visited though.
  21. Good luck Richard, hope it goes well at Glasgow.
