  1. Good win for Worky against a fairly poor Redcar side for whom only Lawson and Summers stood out although Skidmore and Wilko had their moments. Richard Lawson was really on fire and scored an untroubled 18pt paid maximum and the track record for good measure! For the Comets it was a team performance where no one rider proved consistent but all chipped in with points, big well done to Simon Lambert with 6+2 from four rides. Guest for the Comets stuart Robson has had better days and only scored 5 from four rides...... A big test for the Comets comes in two weeks time when Edinburgh are the visitors and with Josh still out injured the Comets will need a good guest in his place.....is Richard Lawson free....
  2. Well with the weather looking better for this weekend some Speedway looks on the cards at Derwent Park. The Comets take on the Redcar Bears in a PL meeting which sees the return of Workington favourite (Comet on loan!!) Richard Lawson and new Comets recruit Simon Lambert. Should be a good one, best of luck to Simon on his Derwent Park debut in 2014 for the Comets.
  3. Many Workington fans travelled to Berwick on Staurday night and were assured the meeting was on then entered the stadium and later were told it was off, it was obvious from the state of the track that it was never going to be on...................once again the public SHAFTED.
  4. Best of luck in the future Millsy, welcome to Workington Simon Lambert. Well as we are all having a bash at other teams.....well done Newcastle on becoming weaker after team changes.....
  5. Great win for Berwick, and well deserved fast out of the gate and fast on the track, star for them again the wee reserve steen Jensen. Cannot see us getting anything at Berwick tommorrow....but... I heard a rumour Worky were going to drop two middle order riders and sign an Elite League rider We believe .
  6. The Comets take on the old enemy the Berwick Bandits in this PL match, Worky will be hoping to carry on where they left off at Glasgow last Sunday and take all the League points.
  7. Great Speedway meet, passing galore, can we have more please!!
  8. Had a good trip to Glasgow, freindly fans, few bottles of Lech and a Comets win, always enjoy the trips to Ashfield oh and took a few photies as well.
  9. The Comets take on the Sheffield Tigers in a PL match and will hope to bounce back from the defeat at Somerset on Friday. Weather permitting hope to see some Speedway...............rain forecast for today and tomorrow though.
  10. Tough one for the Comets, would rather we had a full team of Worky riders but thats the Speedway world we live in............... Good luck tonight Worky, safe meeting for all rdiers.
  11. A good win for Workington against a handy looking Somerset team. All the Worky side contributed to the win and thanks must go to Robbo and Schrammy for putting in a good effort as guests, the Rebels have all the makings of a great side with top heat leaders in Allen and Morris with good backing Aspergen and Charlie Wright and Brady Kurtz looks like he could go a long way in the sport but was unlucky to fall twice in heat 10. Not sure if 14pts will be enough to take to the OTA but Worky will hopefully have a full side next Friday to take on the Rebels. Oh, Josh Grajczonek was fantastic last night!!
  12. Speedway photos to be used by permission only ............... Hope the weather is going to be ok..rain predicted for 19:00 hrs.
  13. Some hard riding on both sides on Sunday evening!! What a meet, i did think at the half way stage that the Comets were heading for another defeat but they came out fighting in the second part of the match. Some really close races provided good entertainment...........if that does not keep the fans coming back for more i do not know what will. Berwick have a decent team but just lacked the consistency from Vissing and Doolanto score points. Another tough meeting next week when Worky take on the Panthers! Oh can the guy who plays the "music" please get some better cds..............
  14. Hopefully the weather will be ok, looking forward to a good meeting................"Dont stop believing"
  15. Race of the night, heat 10 Grajczonek goes from last to first....was still second with over a lap to go and well back.....How did he do that!!!
  16. Some bad feeling from the Moanarchs Enjoyed the meeting some good racing, not too concerned yet the Worky riders still to get to their best, all credit to Edinburgh on the win and have some fine reserves in Worrall and Sedgmen, also Masters was very good. Still think Worky will make the Play offs at the end of the season.
  17. Rearranged for May the 18th, League match to be re scheduled.
  18. Here is a link from the Workington official site from the 19th of March.http://www.workingtoncomets.co/news/article.asp?id=100244 All the best for the future James.
