  1. Decent performance tonight by the Comets , good to Max Perry in the points and a flying Craig cook , I was a bit wary that Cookie might come back from injury too early but he was on top form . The Comets outdated in ht 15 by a great ride from Howarth and Flint and that was that .
  2. Yes a few possible showers before race time but generally dry and 11/10 degrees
  3. 52-38 win for Tigers Having a late breakfast looking at train times from Edinbrugh to Glasgow 🫣
  4. Back to the 6 pm start time this Saturday and another tough test for the Comets with the visit of the Oxford Cheetahs. The Cheetahs team is spearheaded by Heat leaders Sam Masters and Anders Rowe and at the time of writing the Oxford side are still missing Erik Riss because of illness but the team still pose a threat with Luke Killeen and reserves Dayle Wood and Darryl Ritchings. For the Comets we are still waiting for the return of our own injured riders in Craig Cook and Vinnie Foord.
  5. Weather forecast is good , no rain forecast , with a high of 12 degrees but sunny at start time .
  6. After last nights close result at Edinburgh the Comets begin their opening home League fixture at the GT Tyres Arena against a handy Plymouth side. The Plymouth side also had a decent showing at Glasgow last night going down 49-41. The line ups are= 1. Jonas Jeppesen (8.48), 2. Niklas Holm Jakobsen (5.00), 3. Craig Cook R/R, 4. Tate Zischke (5.23), 5. Troy Batchelor (C) (6.75), 6. Mitchell Cluff (3.89), 7. Mickie Simpson (2.29). Team Manager: James Denham. PLYMOUTH GLADIATORS: 1. Danny King (C) (8.51), 2. Joe Thompson (5.86), 3. Daniel Klima (5.21), 4. Ben Barker (6.80), 5. Scott Nicholls (7.33), 6. Anze Grmek (4.00), 7. Tom Spencer (2.00). Team Manager: Garry May. Note: back to 3pm stat this week. Also after the main meeting Workington Speedway are hosting a round of the British Youth Championship.
  7. Well done to the Comets for keeping it so close , could have snatched a draw but Monarchs got the 5-1 in heat 15.
  8. Niklas just back from injury , no cookie, two guest reserves , can see a 20 pt win for the Monarchs , hopefully we can keep it closer though
  9. By the end of the season Bowes will be up to speed and barring injuries Poole will be there at the sharp end of the play offs … whatever shape they are I cannot remember .
  10. I think Bowes will come good in time and with Poole being strong they are able to deal with his low scores by his standards . No need for any rash moves .
  11. Should be ok for home meetings , plenty of strong riders on paco , sedge and Kye to fend off away teams
  12. Well done Redcar , some of the races tonight were “out of the top drawer” well done to all , Redcar reserves were v good
  13. All depends on the severity, maybe 2-4 weeks if minor tear.
  14. It says in the Star the NKI has a doctors appointment today in Denmark.
  15. Ollie Allens reply to the Lawson issue would make a politician proud.
  16. This Saturday sees the Comets take on the Bears from Redcar at the new time of 6pm. Hopefully Craig Cook is back to full fitness after his shoulder issue at Berwick last week. Redcar again will be tough customers and have some real track specialists in Jason Edwards and Nicolai Klindt, so the Comets will have to be on good form and sharp out of the gate. This meeting sees the home debut for Max Perry as a Comet.
  17. The wow news must have been the Northampton track re opening.
