Some clubs get elements right but not all of them for example in the Star this week Plymouth noticed a downturn in attendance when their Facebook page went down which just shows the power of social media in these times ( nothing against Plymouth it was out of their control) It’s a matter of getting all clubs on the same page. Some relatives of mine went to Redcar recently where the crowd were waiting around on a cold night (accident apart) after a 7:30 start

For what its worth.............try and get the basics right first, good track preparation, good promotion of the sport through social media , treat the fans as customers not a burden (yes there always the ones who want everything for free), run a tight ship, run on nights which attract the best attendance for your club, start times to be start times. Try and make it economically viable for fans if possible with offers on season tickets etc.

Some new fans standing next to my nephew left halfway through, tired of waiting around , I realise that accidents happen and cause delays but from what I heard the meeting just dragged on and on.

What was the reason for the late start time (7:30) , with around 20 hts to race plus the support meeting too it seems crazy on a cold October night to start at this time . I could understand if it was a midweek meeting and people were working but this was a Saturday event . This does not encourage newer fans never mind fans that already attend on a regular basis .

Agree so many clubs have different operating models, ie some have large company backing or major sponsors whilst others rely on private backers. Also as already stated the difference in rents on grounds can vary too, along with varying crowd numbers not forgetting the ever increasing running costs such as medical cover , insurance and rising fuel prices.

Unfortunately pensioners or older people make up the majority at most tracks.
