About 15-20 Comets fans present at last nights Ben Fund meeting at Glasgow, Stoney made an appearance promoting his "Skinflint Rally " challenge in aid of the Ben Fund. Basically Stoney and co driver (ex mechanic) have sourced a car for under £500 and have to drive to Nice completing challenges along the way. The Rally takes place in September and a just giving page is to be set up.

Many speedway clubs nickname's incorporate the big cat family, Lions, Tigers (many including Sheffield, Glasgow, Mildenhall ) , Wildcats, Panthers, Cheetahs, ...any more?

In this weeks star an item about the Workington promotion team visiting a local college to spread the word of Speedway in the town . The students were studying media and had not heard of the sport , the management were aware of not reaching everyone on the area and not just by using facebook .

What does the future hold though, which clubs are breaking even or making money, Ipswich and Poole ? Even the high profile clubs like Glasgow and belle vue to my knowledge are losing money and with an ever dwindling attendances the future of the sport at this level must have a limited future.
