A great comeback from the Comets to win the meeting, well done to Jonas and captain Batch on a great 5-1 in ht 15 . What can you say about Troy Batchelor a great team man for the Comets for 3 years now, if he does carry on in 2027 he will certainly be welcomed back at Workington in my humble opinion. Hope the gentleman who had a fall in the pits is ok . Great to see the Comets back in 2027.

Redcar might have asked for a later start time ? weather for the weekend looks good .

Hopefully the weather will be kind on Saturday and this match can go ahead to complete the Comets fixtures for 2026. The Comets need a win to lift them off the bottom of the League table. Jody Scott will be missing for Redcar as he is riding at Plymouth in the U19 final at Plymouth. Redcar have Reid Battye covering for Scott and Nathan Ablitt covering for Jake Mulford, meanwhile Workington have Mickie Simpson in for the banned Max Perry. A collection for the Ben Fund will take place also.

Not too much of a diversion Neil down to Lillyhall and then across to Workington.

The item in this weeks Star "COLD REALITY CHECK" (Workington) only reiterates what has been said before that its not just that there are not enough fans going through the turnstiles, its the increasing costs of insurance, medical cover , rider wages etc. What is the answer ? Five man teams, a weaker League structure , i do not have the answer.
