  1. Genuinely sorry to hear Tom is packing in speedway, he is one of those riders I would gladly pay to watch, a pure entertainer who never ever gave anything other than 100%. To be honest, he was one of my favourite riders !! I always enjoyed watching Tom when he rode for Berwick and always tried to keep an eye on his scores when he wasn't riding for us as the times I spoke to him, he always seemed keen, enthusiastic and very very friendly. Best wishes for the future Tom, whatever it holds for you.
  2. Andrew Tully is the latest name to be added. From www.berwickspeedway.co.uk Interestingly, it says he lives 400 yards from Shielfield, I had no idea he lived in Berwick !! He would be cheap in terms of travel for a place in the team next season.........
  3. This is going to be a superb event, those two names definitely improve the field. Can't wait to see who the remaining 3 names are - although I won't be able to make Saturday night to find out - hope someone posts them on here !
  4. Pretty much what I said, but mine had two words, the first began with "f" and the second was superb ! I think the line up will get even better, the following is a quote from John Anderson “Four names to go – and I think the fans will be pretty pleased when they learn who we’re inviting to fill in the four blank spaces in the field!”
  5. Two more names announced : Tai Woffinden and Chris Kerr. Four to go now. From www.berwickspeedway.co.uk
  6. Don't think just "windy" covers it Screm, "blowing a gale" would be more appropriate. Still, at least it means the track will dry quicker ! Looking forward to this tonight.
  7. Cracking line up already it has to be said ! Will the other riders come from the likes of Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow to try and get some of their fans to come down ? Kenni Larsen, Kevin Wolbert and James Grieves would all add to the meeting IMO.
  8. A very good looking line up there indeed, I shall be attending this one to cheer on the youngsters. One thing is bugging me though, and it could be I have missed an announcement or can't count BUT each team has 8 riders, so what will the format be ? It won't affect my attendance at all, just curious !
  9. Knowing Davey, that's probably the truest thing on this forum !!
  10. I know it is a tough situation for the IOW, but with Berwick getting through last weekend, surely they must have realised that they stood a fairly good chance of being booked at Berwick on the 11th (or infact at Workington on the same day), especially at this stage with dates being tight ? The only chance they stood of NOT having a Saturday 11th meeting would have been if Worky had chosen Berwick ! Most of all though I feel for David, and Taffy (balderdash&piffle) as he has put a lot of time, effort and money into arranging the event. Saying that I do agree with Bryn's comments too, let's hope that we can get David's meeting on in the Spring, and that loads of people turn out for it, it may even be a better time as people will be desperate for speedway again, rather than dragging themselves along late season. Trying to put a positive spin on it anyway !
  11. Gutted for David and all who have worked on putting this event together, especially Taffy. To be let down by a team who knew they could potentially have a meeting on a certain day, then refuse to ride on it and as a result postpone a riders testimonial is quite frankly out of order. Wonder how the IOW would feel if this was the other way round, I bet we would have more people on here bleating about how out of order Berwick were.
  12. Nothing more to add than what people have put already, especially Bryn. RIP Kenny, condolences to all who knew you.
