Birmingham V Swindon Mon 2nd June
Crazy robin replied to Brummie Kev's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Over the years there has been many times where riders have fell because they've had to take evasive action to another rider & there has been no contact & been excluded. What was the difference to them than the incident tonight as there was no contact between Nick & Ben so unless a new rule has been brought in this season the referee had no option to exclude Ben?. The right decision should've been to exclude Nick but as I said I don't think the rules give the ref that option although it should be. Well said & as the late Malcolm Simmons once said in a Backtrack article he found it amazing Ronnie got the gig on Sky because he was clueless in doing a track. A job for who you know & not what you know is how Ronnie's speedway life will be remembered. -
Rained-off Meetings Then And Now

The track tonight was very bumpy in the corners & that wasn't down to the weather. -
Watch Lambert in Heat 2 & then compare how he's ripping up the premier League as well(not). Yes Nick looked dodgy tonight but at least he's earned his spot in the 2 leagues unlike Simon who is just a National Lge rider.
-
Well I must say how I enjoyed the 25 year old Simon Lambert riding in the Elite League tonight & how he was in such control of the bike at all times. Yes he will beat the likes of Nathan but he really is an example of the daftness of the draft system.
-
A poor pair of reserves & you're screwed & yes I can remember a lot of 21 maximums before from reserve so lord knows what that has to do with it!!. Don't think regular scores of 15 were that common either.
-
What a load of rubbish as at least in previous seasons it was a points limit for 1-7 so if you wanted to make sure of at least one strong reserve then you did your top 5 accordingly. This season the reserves are more important than ever with 2 reserve races that can have an 8 point swing let alone what they do in the rest of their rides.
-
How would Belle Vue have ended up with Garrity & Steve Worrall as when the draft was done neither of them were an assett?.

Poole V Kings Lynn 28/05/2014
Crazy robin replied to Gavan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Matt can change either Milik or Josh for a rider from previous seasons with an average that was achieved in a stronger league to make them stronger. People can peddle this whichever way they want but swap the reserves & it's a easy home win & that is another problem for Poole. Have to say whatever the reasons of the draft Lewis Kerr is beating 2nd strings as well so fair play to him but what will happen to him now next season??. -
Gate 1 was a graveyard all night though. Making more of a fist of it than others have in the past few seasons who've got through the GP challenge. Agreed can't see him making the top 8 but he at least deserved his chance as has been pretty consistent all over the world in his league racing the last few seasons.

I find it strange that Troy gets stick & gets called a "GP Star" by some because of their dislike from when he was younger. The facts are at least he's improving in them when certain other riders are simply making up the no's. Yes as a speedway fan last night was ANOTHER nail in the coffin but it was down to others to make the decision who are paid to do it. Teams winning will want it postponed & teams losing will want to carry on. I just hope once & for all this is the last time it happens but won't be holding my breath.

Did you not see the photo's of the track on Thursday as that really is a daft thing to post

Won't score what Adam was but at least the Brummies are trying.

Poole Pirates Vs Coventry Bees 21/5/2014
Crazy robin replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
That's the problem though as Kyle is not scoring what he was before his injury & with a limited points total possible from the other reserve it means at least 3 of the top 5 have to hit 10 points or 1 has to be close to a maximum to win a meeting easily. Might be time to swap Magic & Shamek round as Magic is struggling in Heat 13 & Shamek is the better rider. -
Well said but guess in his defence he was trying to simply live outside his means as his business has suffered in recent years as well.

I really hope Darcy is listening to medical advice as from someone who is suffering after having an op on my knee it really ain't no fun. -

I agree but it does mean that fans miss out on watching more laps of racing & that is something that we have to be careful of but guess there's no alternative really. -

That was quite sad watching PK tonight & maybe just one season to many as he now reminds me of watching Sam Ermolenko when he went on for too long as well. -
Thank you so much as can't take the rubbish anymore
-
Can someone please tell me how I can stop seeing someone's posts as since we've signed Dak we seem to have gained a poster that I'd like to do that to?.
-
Maybe in the future was my plan. Rene Bach has always been very poor in the Elite League so not for me. No thanks to Zengi & we'd be mad to get rid of Troy.
-
Michael Bech only rode for Swindon because of his links with Jan Steachman. I hope the fact that Ryan Douglas is a good mate of Nick's then we might have a chance of getting him but the draft rules really make it hard to take chances on young foreign riders now.

Good to see Davey got over his tiredness & put in a good performance as a guest tonight & just makes last nights score even more dodgy than it did at the time. DISGRACE -
King's Lynn V Swindon 14/05/14 Sky Meeting
Crazy robin replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It was a 50/50 signing for me & make or break for Simon to prove he wasn't a one trick pony at Eastbourne & he's had some decent meetings & scores at Swindon in the past. Sadly Simon is just like so many of the modern day Swedish riders that they are fast if in front & just plain woeful if behind.
