Emil Sayfutdinov and Co bring in the crowds?
STARRGAZER1 replied to Phil's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I seem to remember him riding for Coventry at King’s Lynn -
The cricket was from Sweden, Stockholm. But would still prefer watching UK club cricket.

RIP Ivan Only just back from N.Z. having visited the museum in Christchurch where the gold plated bike, world championship trophy and other items are on display. Also remember being at Katowice in 1973 when Jerzy Szczakiel got the world championship after Ivan toppled off.

King's Lynn Stars 2017
STARRGAZER1 replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
First went to King's Lynn speedway in 1966. Moved away from the area in 1969 but still travelled 100+ miles each way for 'home' meeting. Between 1983 and 1997 went to very little speedway due to family and work commitments. Started going again regularly in 1998. Moved back to the area 16 years ago and for many years went to almost all meetings (home and away). Stopped travelling when Lynn moved to Elite League. Got disillusioned last year and did not go after July. Was optimistic that things might be better this year. Been to a few meetings this year but not happy with what we have seen. Last night was the final straw! King's Lynn speedway will get no more of my money this year. Will wait and see what happens in 2018, if British speedway still exists in its present form? Will get my fix of speedway elsewhere where I can watch proper racing and get better value for my money. -
Gave up booking hotels for speedway at least 4/5 years ago!!

King's Lynn V Belle Vue - 19 April 2017
STARRGAZER1 replied to Mimmo's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Outgated and outridden. Well done to Belle Vue. Most races over after first bend. Stopped going to Elite League mid- way through 2016 season. If this is the standard of entertainment that we are going to get at Lynn money is better kept in my pocket. Only one notable pass all night.. . Will give a couple more meetings a try. -
Why don't all clubs have the facility to buy tickets on line. Believe Belle Vue offer this at no extra cost.

Can confirm tickets purchased easily with Credit Card using Dotpay on Kup Bilet. Flights & Hotel booked and will be using Modlin Bus again (so cheap and bookable in advance, but not this far in advance). Using trams to get around Warsaw is so easy.

King's Lynn V Lakeside 25th June 19.45
STARRGAZER1 replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Have to agree with this.Often cannot hear any of the presentations or interviews. In addition do we have to put up with such loud music,it is almost impossible to talk to the person standing next to you! -
Warsaw Gp Saturday 18th April
STARRGAZER1 replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The incident with the flag happened at 5pm well before the shambles took place inside.Having spent my hard earned cash on attending overseas gps i expect. to be able to show support for my countrys riders. The trouble with many brits is that we are not patriotic enough. After all this was an international sporting event and it looked as though only poles were there.Even Poles that we spoke to were amazed at this reestriction.Yes we go to watch a good event but like to support British sportspersons,we prefer to give support at the event not as armchair fans! Yes i am still in Warsaw and will be in Tampere next month and hope to see better. -
Warsaw Gp Saturday 18th April
STARRGAZER1 replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Arriving at stadium entrance with English flag told cannot take it in.No foreign flags allowed only Polish flags allowed to be displayed! Were refusing to allow me into stadium. After arguments managed to shove flag in bag and push through.Obviously cannot show support for foreign riders.Try stopping Poles taking their flags into Cardiff . -

Depends on what sort of accommodation you want.Did new zealand + 2. Cricket test matches having 4 weeks for less than what tour operator were quoting for their 2 week tour.If you are prepared to do it yourself there is no comparison. We have 4 nights + flights for less than £260 (For 2 people) in 4star hotel .Some people like everything done for them butyou have to pay a premium for this . We would much sooner do it ourselves then we can afford to go more often. -

Surely most people would have paid by credit card.Such payments were confirmed within a few minutes. This i did Monday morning & was then able to print my tickets.Still a lot of seats available then.looking forward to our 1st polish speedway since Katowice 1973. -
Genuine Question In Relation To King's Lynn Speedway
STARRGAZER1 replied to SCORPIO's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Never had a problem at STARS matches. In this instance believe the "bully boys" that you refer to are contracted by BSI not by the stadium owner. -
Gp Qualifier Sat June 7th @ Berwick
STARRGAZER1 replied to screm's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Hope to be there. Coincides with another commitment in Newcastle area Sunday-Tuesday. -
It really is a farce when clubs, especially at this level, can put out a team with 3 guests plus R/R. No wonder we are dis-illusioned with the sport! Glad we had another commitment which prevented us from travelling a 280mile round trip which would have been a waste of time and money.

Believe this match takes place tomorrow evening. Cannot find anything about it. Any news on teams?

Yes Mike we did not know this match was on tonight. We are neither Twitter nor Facebook users.

New Zealand Gp.
STARRGAZER1 replied to STARRGAZER1's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Must say the difference between starting positions did spoil the meeting somewhat, not the 1st time this has happened in a gp &don't suppose it will be the last . must say that the locals sitting near us had little knowledge of motor cycle speedway & some eer even expecting midget car racing despite the extensive advertising showing bikes. at least it_was much warmer sitting on these terraces than it is bavk home . also understand from speaking with locals that there could be some doubt about Nextel years event as there are problems with local residents over noise. (What's new)
