  1. Im not blaming matt for our problems at all, he is just not good enough (YET) & im fed up year after year of saying the same crap. The problems with the team is lack of consistency between Birks, Auty, Howe & Jorgy coupled with (Vissing apart) our misfortune with Guests at number one (like nearly every season). On ebirght light is Douglas but he is going to be in the main body soon enough when we should be using his heavy scoring from reserve to win matches NOW.
  2. Just about fed up now, 6 riders who should have been puhing for the number 1 spot. Out of them, one is sadly injured, one is doing great (Douglas) & the other 4 are struggling badly pushing for a resere spot! we just cant seem to get them all firing at the same time. As predicted Williamson is completely out of his depth & needs another season in the NL, same like bates last year. The answer in the close season was Blackbird with a shuffle in the middle of the pack but that ship has well & truly sailed. Before anybody harps on about Scunny bringing on talent, yes we do but only if ready, you cant carry guys at this level, Sargeant to me would be a much better reserve but i dont know how that ties in with his EL commitments. Hoping Rob can turn this around either by helping with machinary or a reshuffle, after the bad start to the season the crowds will surely drop as people lose interest.
  3. Looking fwd to visit Sheffield again, of course supporting Scunny Owlerton has great facilities but the track has been pretty poor the last couple of seasons with what appeared to be very few genuine overtakes after the 2nd bend, lets hope this is better too Also noticed the away support for Sheffield dwindle recently so with a better team and more prospect of away wins/upsets then this will hopefully improve too.
  4. Now that is great news, thanks for the updates there guys It originally came on Tyson Nelson's FB, a lady with the surname Douglas saying her "Ryan" was also having problems. I am over the moon that his visa is sorted.
  5. I see on Tyson Nelson's FB page that maybe Ryan is having problems with his visa? Hope this is not true. Rob Beasley (Lucifer Sam) how is this looking for ryan?
  6. Talking about who ends up at number 1 during the season, not at the start, of course that will be Mellgren.
  7. Didnt see this post Sidney... I have no idea who will be number 1, thats the great thing about this side, could be anyone of 6 riders, although Auty would probably be favourite to move upto an 8 ptr.
  8. What amazes me, is that for a few months wether you were runing or not was in question, now that you allegedly are, some peeps are still not happy. Be patient things will work out, Morris is a good rider, if you dont get him then i am sure the riders you do get will be good enough.
  9. I for one am looking forward to the extra fixtures against Sheffield, our nearest rivals, not too far from sunny Scunny. Who is the second team you guys face twice? I'd also like to say that I'm really happy you guys are running this year.
  10. Agreed Spinny, looks like a good team with 6 riders who have potential to be number 1, of course not all will improve, they never do but I like the balance of this team. Suprised how many people dont think this team will make the top 6 I am sure the Scunny fans will all be loving being written off... makes it sweeter when you do well.
  11. Thank Orlov, I forgot about that website. Look like Ryan is doing really well in Australia so far, beating some of the riders who are considered better in the PL e.g.Nick Morris. Really looking fwd to see if he can continue with his great improvement during the second half of the season in 2013, could be anywhere from a 5 to an 8 pt average for him.
  12. Happy with the team for 2014, looks stronger than last year with one proven reserve and the other 5 all having great potential. Williamson will hopefully have no pressure to perform and find his feet. I have been looking on the updates site for news about how Douglas is doing in Australia over the winter but can't find any info, if anybody has any news or links it would be great if they can post them.
  13. I dont know but its making me worried that there has been a glitch in team building? Edit: i realise the annoucement wasnt about the riders but the silence is making me nervous. I think the announcement will be either a new sponsor or possibly a stags team in the NDL.
  14. Ricky didnt hit the fence at Scunny, he went over the bike & landed awkwardly. That being said onto the topic in hand, I think air-fences are a great idea if set up properly.
  15. I'd like to have Jorgensen & Birks but cant see a decent 3 ptr in with them or out of the 3 sides you've put together there islander I like the look of the first one
  16. Very happy with David coming back, I was really hoping he would be. If he can get back to anywhere near where he was then we have a bargain; great guy, loyal servant to the club & great speedway rider. Made my day. http://www.scunthorpetelegraph.co.uk/Fully-fit-super-quick-David-Howe-earns-place/story-20258812-detail/story.html
  17. To be honest I think last seasons reserves where a big mistake, it worked out in the end for Douglas & I'm glad it did but you cant carry two reserves who are learning there trade at this level, one just about. I am disappointed not to see Lewis Blackbird back again, he obviosuly didnt fit in with team building averages & there are always casualties in that dept. Looks like we are going to be going into tthe new season carrying another one, we may as well have tried to get Steve Worral back (before he signed for Edinburgh), at least he has seen all the tracks. Good reserves & a big number one win you this league, shown time & time again. Edit - thats not to say any one of 6 of who think will be riding for the scorpions this year cant make an 8 pt average & be a big hitting number 1
  18. Thought the British reduction was finished 2 years ago?
  19. 1. Josh Grajczonek (8.41) 2. Rene Bach (7.85) 3. Ricky Wells (7.81) 4. Kyle Howarth (6.86) 5. Mason Campton (4.69) 6. Ashley Morris (4.11) 7. Chris Mills (3.00) 42.73??? I must be making a mistake with these averages as 42.73 is too high, can anybody enlighten me on what they should read? Apart from Campton I got the averages from the BSPA final greensheets.
  20. Cant see this team, Auty according to Rob Godfrey will be #3 in the averages, the one above shows him at #2. Reckon Howe & Birks would be much better than Klindt & Aspgren. I like the team posted by Mr.C Mellgren 7.33 Birks 7.30 Auty 7.24 Howe 6.34 Jorgensen 6.15 Douglas 5.03 Greenwood 3.00 Every single one of those riders have potential, I know its a cliche & always said by every supporter of every team but I genuinely believe this. Anybody know when the next rider is announced?
  21. A bit of a clue...the new signing has guested for us before.. (From Scunthorpe speedway twitter) So that makes it Sam Masters favourite for me to be announce BUT could be Albin, Doolan, Dyer....etc etc Scorpions chief @moorwell says his master plan in falling into place... (also from Twitter)
  22. Wonder if it could be Birks (7.33) & Masters(7.43) above Auty in the averages? Initially it was thought Birks could be out until after the season started but it appears he is progressing really well with his recovery. Even Melgren comes into play on a 7.33 average.
  23. I think your right, I would be slightly disappointed not too see Jorgy & Lewis back, they both have massive potential. I do have a sneaky suspicion that Sam Masters maybe back after riding for us during the last few fixtures in 2012.
