  1. You really are some kind of special stupid, your hatred of Godfrey won't cloud an inaccurate statement eh. There is medical cover at Scunthorpe but like all tracks they have to wait for a county ambulance, stabilise the patient etc... So Gilkes was put in the Scunthorpe ambulance with medical cover until he could be transferred, whilst waiting for the transfer there is no other medical cover and the racing has to wait.
  2. For a team to be successful you need improvers but that doesn't mean all of them have to improve, so that is the only way I can justify to myself the signing of Lambo & from what the popular speak is Aarnio, those 2 will probably stay the same average or thereabouts, the improvement has to come from Palin, Zaine & Kingsley. Allen & Douglas could go either way, if they improve then the team will do well, if they don't then it won't be pretty.
  3. I will have a go, 3 heat leaders, 2 riders improving every year in Connor and Jordan, a solid reserve and a reserve who can ride our track. All pie in the sky I know with Connor being happy at Newscastle but a team I really like 1. Adam Ellis 7.66 2. Connor Mountain 5.19 3. Jake Allen 7.72 4. Jordan Palin 5.90 5. Thomas Jorgensen 7.28 = 33.75 with no reductions for being British 6. Dan Gilkes 2* 7. Ryan Kinsley 1* (3.00 av)
  4. & that is why we wont win the league... home specialist who cant beat heat leaders.
  5. think we were tipped for the wooden spoon or 2nd bottom by most observers, okay Ellis strengthened us away from home but it was very satisfying to get to 6th place, I echo your thoughts and was overall happy with our season performance. We are not at the same level as some others in the league but our cloth is cut according to money available
  6. I understand what you are saying but people post generalizations without knowing the individual circumstances. After spending 2 hours at hospital with my 80 year old father earlier in the day it was touch and go whether he wanted to go as up until 5.30pm he couldn't see due to the solution they had put in his eyes. During the meeting he said it was getting too cold for him and he wasn't enjoying Leicester beating us and could I take him home.
  7. Could live with that Eric, wonder if Allen on 7.72, Ellis on 7.66 ... for sure Ellis will improve on that but Allen rides Scunny better..... Anyway the season isn't over & I started it, just a bit of "what if" fun. I really hope we don't go down the route of a home track specialist who can't beat heat leaders, I will say no names but he scored poorly tonight.
  8. I do support my team by watching every match, I go and pay my money, if its cold, bad racing etc then its my choice to leave.... what time I leave does not make me a true fan, super fan or poor fan. I never boo and always cheer/clap when our riders do well.
  9. On less than 8, thats an average he can improve easily
  10. Morris & Douglas rode the dirt line about 3m off the inside on bend 4 successfully more than once tonight and Lambo gave it a go around the boards on bend 2, so there was some racing lines tonight. Leicester were just too good. added But I do agree there has been meetings this season with no outside passes possible, unlike previous years.
  11. Ellis, Palin for next year ... bin the rest and rebuild, would like to see Allen & Mountain ride for us but can't see it.
  12. Final match of the season, thought I would go even though we had no chance of a win, pretty cold and we didn't stand a chance with that team so I left at heat 10. 1 heat leader vs 4 heat leaders, my prediction post match was 38-52, was secretly hoping Lambo would come to the party and we would run them close, Palin would ride above expectation etc, nope, didn't happen Good luck in the rest of the play offs Leicester, you have a good team and beat us fair and square every time this season.
  13. Stumper I would say you are spot on with regards to the PA, it has been crap for a number of years and cuts in/out all the time. Secondly the lighting is very poor around the stands/bends & also including on the track, from the home straight you can't see the helmet colours of the riders on the opposite side, the lights shine directly at you and not the track.
  14. Passion, Danny had it in spades, loved watching him go around at Scunny, always gave his all, what an entertainer. RIP Danny.
  15. Hi Tosh, sorry to hear you were abused by someone at redcar, I have been there 6 times and have found them very welcoming people, in fact I normally stand near the same Redcar fans every time and we have a bit of good natured banter. Now me not having any abuse doesnt take away from your experience (hopefully only 1 or 2 saddo's which every club has) but I just thought I had to put down in writing my experience to give some balance. As for the meeting, I really didnt enjoy it, we should have won and did but Redcar ran us close with a very weakened team, i was a bag of nerves throughout But I think it was a cracking meeting for the home fans with every win giving something to cheer for. Of the 6 times I've been up that blooming A19 South has been closed for 3 of them including after this meeting, interesting journey round the wilds of York!
  16. I really hope not, he found his level a long long time ago and its not a high one. I for one dont want to see the likes of him, Phillips or any other of Robs "special" reserves back again.
  17. Close meeting this one, looked at one stage as if Redcar would get all the poins or at least 1. For the first 9 heats the ref was trying to spoil the meeting, geez, he held the tapes twice with the Scunny riders missing the start and then he did it again in heat 5 & 9 with redcar riders going through the tapes, no clue why he was doing this. For the bears, Charles Wright looked great, the others except Toft chipped in well but nothing consistent, for the scorps Allen & Garrity where class acts, Auty recovered well after his wheel spokes collapsed in heat 6. Managed to get the meeting done without the rain hitting so overall a good night for me.
  18. As a scunthorpe fan, I am glad by this, he is a bit out of his depth and will get some time over this season to get some track time, yes Godfrey made a gamble and it didnt work. To be fair to Godfrey he is not known as a chop/change promoter and this has been to our detriment over many seasons, seems other promoters can do this when they like and virtually no comment ... go figure.
  19. Can't see this being anything other than a 20 pt home win, the only riders of Scunny who have had a spin have rode poorly or had mechanical issues. Just hoping I am proved wrong but can't see it.
  20. Josh Auty 8.36 Tero Aarnio 6.83 / Rasmus Jensen 6.59 Jake Allen 7.37 Stefan Nielsen 5.66 Steve Worrall 8.17 Gino Manzares 4.00 Anders Rowe / Kyle Bickley 2.00 TOT 42.39 with Tero or Josh Auty 8.36 Kyle Howarth 6.95 Jake Allen 7.37 Stefan Nielsen 5.66 Jason Garrit 7.59 Gino Manzares 4.00 Anders Rowe / Kyle Bickley 2.00 TOT 41.93 Not much chance of getting Jensen( much improved) or Kyle (coming on really good and on the pace now) but as this is just a little fun I thought I would include them, no doubt Worky will retain there best riders next season though.
  21. I think the apology was meant to be it and thats it, you guy trying to defend him is not helping his case, wrightly or wrongly.
  22. I have been critical of Phillips on here but wouldnt wish the lad any harm, he had nasty tumble tonight and I wish him all the best on a speedy recovery. Get well soon.
  23. I know its not Phillips fault and I realise he has lost confidence from when we were flying with mainly a full team but I was just pointing out that something is wrong at home, there must be some improvement from riding the same track 7 times this season were others have not seen it once. I did suggest 3 riders and it looks like 2 of them are 15 years old (Kemp/Flint) and 1 maybe too high an average (brennan). With what I have pointed out, is that there is something wrong, probably same with Bickley, he is either the same or worse in the CL but he does score well in the NL, Phillips doesnt even do that. I am sorry but I dont know the answer to this conumdrum and I wouldnt like to be in Robs shoes to try and sort it. Like I said I do think the issue is with guests not remotely scoring anything like what Worral/Nielsen would, as for Phillips, somebody please help him.
