  1. Don't worry about us, remember Tim Stone doesn't need our money!
  2. Oi, Fairy! I'm in the South Stand so get yer list sorted!
  3. Some quotes about Sams Bar, not all favourable! The second one was obviously written last June when some of the forum crew were in there! Altogether sounds like a great place! Just booked our tickets, as the missus refused to get them on the day, in U19 Row 15. Start there and see where we can wander off to for the best view!
  4. Cant really blame anyone who goes to Cardiff but not League racing at Newport! A professionally run event at one of the worlds premier stadiums, or a match at the somewhat less than plush Stade de Hayley run by a bunch of monkeys and on organgrinder who hasn't the first idea what he is doing! Heck even I can't stomach going to Newport everyweek these days.
  5. Usually three of us go (me, the missus and the old man) but this year their will be an extra 3, 2 of whom have never been to speedway before! Hopefully they'll like it and keep coming back.
  6. Think they were recorded from the menus of the original Command & Conquer computer games. And yes, along with the graphics they are pretty crap!
  7. Another lefty here! I'm pretty ambidextrous, due to the 'Shawns sister effect' where I broke my left wrist and was forced to use my righthand for a period of time. I tend to do different things with different hands, I write with my left, play darts with either, throw anything else with my right and play pool (poorly) with my right. Some people find it strange because I pick up and use knives and forks either way round. Dunno about Vinces theory about turning, from what I can remember I never had a preference when riding a bike. I do, however, prefer turning left in my car for some reason!
  8. I sat on the lower tier for the first two years because the old man is a miserable git and refused to sit anywhere else. Finally persuaded him to sit in the top tier, as I do for football matches, and he loved it! The view from the lower tier is pretty good, but as SCB says the atmosphere isn't as good - both the noise and the fact you can't see the top 2 tiers of the stadium.
  9. I usually go down a few weeks before hand and get them from the ticket place by the stadium. That said, I happened to be in Cardiff on Saturday, went to the ticket outlet only to be told "Sorry, we haven't had our allocation yet." Looks like I'll be getting them on the way from the POW to the stadium on the day!
  10. 2006 - The league champions who built there team to the previous limit (52.31) have 4 riders who increase their averages significantly. Finish on a total of 58 points. 2007 - Teams build to 58 points, and besides Berwick being able to include seven crap Eastern Europeans on 8 point averages, the champions again increase the overall team average to something like 62 points. 2008 - Teams build to 62 points..... Where will it end?
  11. I don't think the point of the post was to select each countries team, just to give an example of the format suggested.
  12. Bahahaha! I couldn't think of a better reason to stay in the pub until right before Heat 1!
  13. Introducing caps on the transfers is football was possibly the worst thing thats happened in the sport for ages. Don't introduce stupid transfer windows into speedway.
  14. I have to agree that it was the best Cardiff GP so far, in my opinion. As for the point of there being no trouble, I dont think the Cardiff Police can quite work out how there are so many people, wearing the colours of so many different nationalities and teams, yet there isnt ever the slightest bit of trouble. I guess thats just speedway folk for ya!
  15. Well done Nikki, after taking a few knock on the way he thoroughly deserved it - and also earns extra brownie points by stopping Jason Crump from winning! I dont think the racing was as bad as everyone made out, and to be honest out of the three I thought this years was the best! The thing that that completed the evening for me was the two female Ryan Sullivan fans in the row infront of me who burst into tears when he was eliminated. To say I p****d myself at them would be an understatement! Im already looking forward to next year!
