Walkabout usually gets my business recently as I get plenty of cheap/free drinks from there. Dunno how much I'll be out on the lash then though.

Sums up my weekend, probably minus the alcohol on Friday as I'll be driving to Somerset.

Just booked me flights to Prague. Just a hotel to go now. So for me its: Cardiff Prague

There are going to be a lot of extra hotel rooms appearing in Newport over the next few years, hopefully this will go some way to alleviating the problem.

To be fair, you knew the line-up was going to be missing a few names from the original date, you knew the walls weren't painted with emulsion, you knew the track would be wet and you knew there would be junior races. The only thing you didn't knw was that there was a puddle by the toilets. I'd say pretty much you knew what to expect for your 200 mile round trip.

My first comment to judgejules after using the toilets was "There's more water and mud in the bogs than on the track!"

Sawdust is good at soaking up surface water, of which there wasn't an awful lot. The problem was the track had been saturated for a good few weeks beforehand so I'm not sure what good piling on a load of sawdust would have done.

In the winter the problem is once something gets wet it generally stay wet - speedway track included. Considering its been raining almost non-stop for god knows how long I'm not surprised is was a bit slippery. I do agree though that it wasn't the best New Year Classic I've seen. <edited out deliberate error >

Since when has Wales been a town? And its not like Wales is a COUNTRY that can't host international sporting events. We've got the Ryder Cup in 4 years and Wales Rally GB every year. Wembley wouldn't provide anywhere near the day out that Cardiff does as its in a god awful location!

There's a big Park & Ride about 12 miles from Cardiff, its called Newport. Park your car in the 'Port and jump on a train which stops virtually outside the Millenium Stadium.
