  1. According to the Scunny programme last night..... A quote by Mr. Vasey; " Saints have at least half a dozen at the last count who have been chosen to race in the top gun individual event at Sheffield next Thursday."..... Some of these youngsters are brilliant for their age and produce fast heat times at Scunny ( like unbder 58 secs ) Anyone who goes to Scunny will know thats fast!.
  2. For championship meetings like the PLRC ......Why cant we have a practice day like they do in the Grand Prix?.....Would that make it any fairier?
  3. I wasn't one to crucify you but did make a comment......I still carry a soft spot for Joe, as I do for all our champ C//L side....For the under 18 Champ; Jerran and Joe were leading the field both winning their heats by faster times than the PL riders in the league. One of Jerrans heats was the 2nd fastes heat time at EWR this year ( according to our web site ). When Joe beat Jerran in their heat Jerran knew he had to pull a good one out in the final. That he did, superb race- Joe chose outside gate and Jerran was on the inside, Jerran got to the front off the 2nd bend and that was it, he was gone. With riders champ; I take aboad what your saying....Like I say luck plays its part in speedway.
  4. This meeting couldn't have been closer, and luck played its part. Congratulations to the winner, but hard luck for Kyle Hughes who shed a chain in the run off for first place. In the run off for 3rd place Jerran was the unlucky one. Hard luck Jerran!....So many falls suggests the track not up to standard?
  5. Happens in most of the competitions....we see it all the time in the GPs....It seems necessary to have qualifiers in championships, The final being the climax of the meeting!
  6. Luck plays a part in all speedway meetings......Jerran had hard luck in the race when he had e/f... he weas leading and he had the fastest heat time of the night. In the final race Jerran gated and was gone.....Yes had to feel for Joe who had gone unbeaten but I certainly wouldn't go so far as saying that Joe was a class above ,Jerran looked equally as good.
  7. Think you've got it wrong......Which heat did you have cooperman beating Batchelor? Wuffy was the only rider to beat Batchelor and did it in heat 4. and Semi final 1 .....In the grand final it was HOWE. WUFFY, BATCHELOR, HALL. Pity you couldn't get to the meeting, you missed a good one! Fireworks was brilliant too. CONGRATULATIONS DAVID HOWE!!!!
  8. Unitedunited......Dont agree with you that josh is a one line rider....having watched Josh at Scunny 2006/2007 I can assure you he is well capable of using the whole track.......last night he featured in the best race of the night coming from last to first. I think he is down on confidence at the mo, but I'm sure he'll come real good again...Well done Josh on coming 2nd!
  9. Its a lovely day in Scunny....dry & sunny with blue sky, looks ideal for tonight but it'll probably turn cold later on....wrap up just in case!
  10. Congratulations Tai on becoming PLRC (yet another trophy)....you are truely amazing! Youv'e achieved so much in such a short space of time. Keep it going you'll be world champ one day!
  11. Not sure which averages apply, but looking at our own website our latest average for the top for riders is 29.53. As regards to selection I haven't a clue.
  12. Sorry you proably wont find it on Scunthorpe Telegraph......Try Sportstelegraph.co.uk Click on speedway
  13. See todays news from Tai....www.Scunthorpetelegraph.co.uk Scunthorpe today.....The news everyone has been waiting for!!!
  14. C CONGRATULATION TAI.........BRITISH CHAMPION..........FROM SCUNTHORPE.........WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU AT SCUNNY.
  15. Can you not see Tai for who he is....Born in Scunny, has a large family here.......If you support a premier league team its his grandmother who will make your riders a hot drink in the pits when they compete against the Scorpions. Many of his family are involved at the Stadium helping out....hes just a young lad who was taken to Australia when a toddler. We still look upon him as a Scunny lad! and we'll never forget his part in winning all the trophies in our C/L side ( back to back winners 2006 & 2007 ) GO TAI......WIN IT FOR SCUNNY!!!!!!
  16. I hope that if a rider is unable to take part in this competion his place gets given to Andrew Tully.....He was left out of the C/L riders championship last year and in this competion this year at Kings Lynn he top scorred, only to fall in the final. Been so unlucky.
  17. Good luck Tai!.......You can do it.....put Scunny on the map!!
  18. Maybe once a rider doubles up he should forfeit this competion, and leave it strictly to conference only riders. So much unfairness to the present set up. I think the top 3 will come from the PL lads with tai first(with home track advantage)
  19. Don't know how Andrew Tully goes at Belle Vue, but if he goes like he normally does when he rides for the Scorpions hes got to be a strong favourite.Joe Haines, Simon Lambert, and Byron Bekker should all be in with a shout.Looking forward to watching on the updates, unfortunately cant go to the meeting.
