Surely has to be Stevie Worrall......started speedway this last winter.....rode in the Saints team and have progressed to making quite a few premier outings. his twin brother Richie and Ashley birks not far behind him.......well done Scunny for their track time......Got to say I consider myself lucky to be able to go and watch these lads practrice.....brill stuff!

I cannot see many people coming across via the bridge from Hull to Scunthorpe.....bridge costs far too expensive = £5.40 plus entry etc. and Scunny fans have their own teams to support.

Come on Scunny 1 .......We've been hearing rumours all through the summer ( supposedly coming from Magnus's pits ) that Magnus wants out. I am a huge fan of Magnus, great guy! and will be sorry to see him go, but surely we only want riders who's heart is with Scunny and want to ride for us. We have to rely on our promoter and team manager to give us a team of riders whos going to do the business for our team the SCORPIONS. -

Nikko, We've been here befor on other threads......I know from those that you do a lot for youngsters, I do nothing but cheer them on as a fan, but I do feel sorry for our kids and It must be heart breaking for them when they keep banging their heads against a brick wall. As for all the promoting business and the BSPA.....well what can you say? They tend to be a breed that will only do their own thing!.....We just have to hope that between them they will come up with answers soon. -

Speaking as someone who watches these youngsters at Scunny I see where they are coming from.......Unfortunately their cries for help will go by un-noticed by the majority of people. There has certainly been no shortage of kids to my reckoning. its just a question of how long they persevere befor giving in.......I hope with all my heart for these kids that the NL is made into a proper developement league, so that our own british kids can progress to the standard of the commomwealth younsters when they come over and can compare with them in competing for league places. We need this league to be for first timers as they have to start somewhere. -
Rob Woffinden Memorial Meeting
June replied to Scunny Stag's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Thats a nice gesture by Mr Godfrey to stage this meeting in memory of Rob......To have the youngsters riding is tribute to Rob (Wuffy) who was very often at Scunny raceway helping the young ones.....Looks like being a good nights racing and for many of us a tearful one. that'll be 2 on the trot! -
Congratulations Kenni Larsen on winning the PLRC and a huge well done to David for coming 2nd.....you did Scunny proud!

I'd like to see an all british N/L . our youngsters deserve a chance to get to the top by going through the leagues. Foreign youngsters have their chances in their own countries. I'd like to see all foreigners starting in the prem. If the NL was all british to start off, with riders at differing levels it could work. For beginners to the sport there should be a level they have to achieve befor entering as a reserve. That would mean we would not have to bar any british lads from this league, however I think there should be a top level when they should go prem. I think a team average of 36 could work.; No1,8pts max with Nos.6 & 7 3pts ea. for team building.

Top Gun Individual
June replied to squall's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
I was impressed with a young rider going round the EWR after the Saints last meeting. Wasn't racing but looked good. When I asked Mr Trollop who he was, he came back with the answer that it was a Tom Armstrong, but I'm still none of the wiser! He was a tall lad with very clean bike and kevlars. My son thinks he's An Aussie? -

Scunny 1st and 2nd.....BRILL!.....roll on 2011 when we should have a good NL team, in it to win next year! -

Well done Newport on your win......seems our Saints couldn't match their last weeks performance but nevertheless it was a decent meeting. Anyone know how Buzz is? hope he's not badly injured!....Ive read that Atkin is OK. -

Good luck David Howe......Have a good one! -
I think thats exactly why the BSPA haven't made a statement.....pleased they don't run a business for me!
-
I'd like to think that behind the scenes the BSPA are addressing the whole situation regarding visas and permits.......? We need closure to this thread and until such times that they put out a statement this subject will not go away......someone will always bring it up.
-
I do so agree with you......That N/L meeting had to be seen to be believed....racing was awesome and in times of 58s and 59 secs. much the same as the P/L meeting ( except for Davids 56.98 ) he was the star of that show ( class act ) but those youngsters was something eles, god they gave it their all. bless them and good luck to all of them!... you will have gathered that I am into the N/L racing. Those people who do not bother with this level don't know what their missing.
-
A huge WELL DONE SAINTS!........you didn't win the meeting but you definately won the hearts of all Scunny fans. You rode with so much determination it was there for all to see. What a cracking team your shaping up to. Thanks a million Buzz, your efforts tonight was worth the entrance fee alone I'm sure your example to our youngsters will pay dividends.....congrats to Buxton and good luck in winning the league.
-
Good to hear that our youngsters put in what sounds like a decent performance......A first at Rye for some of the lads I think, and the team being without Benji, don't suppose the lads can complain. What can you say about Buzz.....he's the best, Isn't he?
-
Good luck SAINTS!... enjoy....go beat those COBRAS......safe meeting for all riders!

Good post Halifax tiger......dont think theres a fan in the land who would disagree with a panel as suggested. but it won't happen- will it?
