  1. I reckon that Leigh is a rider who has been on Len's shopping list for years but, until now, the oppotunity has not arisen. It should keep Ritchie on his toes though.
  2. Only..but itshould be a cracking meeting. Is it possible that Jason Garrity is related in some way to Freddie Garrity who, for those old enough to remember, fronted the 1960's pop group 'Freddie and the Dreamers' and, also, hailed fom Manchester? Whatever, so as not to confuse the two 'Jasons' we could, at least, nickname him Freddie. I would stop short of nicknaming Jordan Frampton as 'Katie' though!
  3. Shame if 15 is the entry level. Robert Lambert is 14. When he celebrates his 15th birthday I don't know, but what I do know is he is sensational from what I have witnessed during his second half outings at Rye House last year with 4 laps timed sometimes faster then in the main PL match. The BSPA or, whoever, cannot be allowed to sit on their hands at the risk of he and other talented prospects plying their trade elsewhere.
  4. We shall have to wait to see. At the moment it is between the BSPA, Road Closed's 'Ricky's mate,' or the note on your foot.
  5. Sounds like a comeback for Phil Morris to me.
  6. I wouldn't worry about any change of race night. The way the football team are going just now you could see numerous folks migrating from Portman Road. After all, you really do have a winning team this time. Looking forward to 15th March.
  7. Must have money to burn then unless someone else is paying.
  8. The meeting on 31st isn't the issue Ben. I don't know how long the NZ season lasts or which meetings Jason is contracted to ride in but my guess is he has scheduled it in time to return to the UK prior to the PL season starting. Therefore, is it likely that he could afford to fly back out there for the GP at a cost of £1000 or more? The only other rider affected by this is Chris Holder but he won't be back here until after 31st March. However, the EL fixture list has been put together so that no meetings which include GP riders take place until April.
  9. Applies only to permanent GP riders, not wildcards. The 8 point average is given to any current GP rider who has not previously ridden sufficient meetings in our EL.
  10. Speaking of reserves, I wonder who Rye might be able to use during their early meetings. The home fixtures will start on Saturday, 17th March - a challenge possibly? - then two PL meetings on 24th and 31st plus away matches. The reason I mention this is that I cannot imagine Jason flying back to the UK now until after the NZ GP. A guest facility may be ruled out as Jason will not have appeared for Rye yet so Len may have to use Ben Morely or another Raider in the meantime.
  11. Those who watched this will realise now that it was a meeting which took place earlier in the season and not the one as part of the 'Ace of Hearts.' I was misled by the SKY preview which referred to Nelson riding.
  12. The flat track round that took place as part of the 'Ace of Hearts' meeting is being shown on Motors TV, SKY Channel 413 (Virgin 545) this eveing at 6.55pm. If you miss this transmission it will be repeated from time to time during this week.
  13. Lakeside have announced that they will not be running a NL team in 2012 after all. Can Marc Owen and Shane Hazelden be fitted in I wonder?
  14. As I have said before, who is this 7 point rider who could have been signed instead because I can't find him.
  15. I can't argue with your maths but then I look around and wonder who would be available on a 7.5ish average and not already or, likely to be, re-signed by their current clubs. Any ideas?
  16. There are three Dudeks, four if you count the one who kept goal for Liverpool, and correctly just one Bartosz Zmarzlik so, indeed, they do exist. I reckon Rye should sign a couple of up-and-coming Swedes though, Bengt Andilbarrs and Bernt Offrin.
  17. Neither can I and I don't know how Jason Bunyan has come into contention. However, if he was in, he could frighten the life out of some more timid riders by steaming underneath them into the bends just as Andrew did during his comeback season.
  18. Exactly, it was a joke just as I accepted it was. Unfortunately some of our politically correct chums do make an issue of things like this.
  19. I like the idea of Charlie in #7. That should boost the crowd and keep Shadders excited lol! On a more serious note, Andrew Appleton hasn't ridden speedway for years and, instead, has been concentrating on Longtrack - not a lot of use for a Saturday track. Olly Allen's average would be too high, I suspect. Now that both the Auty and Aspregen deals appear to have fallen through with the former, possibly, being down to travel more than anything else, Len may be persuaded to retain Jordan and I, for one, wouldn't mind that at all. I think we may see Ritchie in Witches colours next year and, could even be, as a direct switch for Jerran Hart. The remaining side, probably, will be as 2011 except for James Brundell. Just to change the subject, did any of you tune into 'Motors' last night? Nelson was riding as a wildcard in the first round at Oxford finishing second in the Grand Final behind Aiden Collins.
  20. You have to be a bit careful with remarks like this. I know it was made in jest (at least I hope it was) but some could take exception to what they perceive to be a racist comment.
  21. I'll just say this about Len. If he is so tight, as some of you suggest, why is it that so many riders don't want to leave the club? He must be doing something right.
  22. I cannot see any point in 'putting' teams together before the conference. In fact, some of the daft line-ups suggested are beyond belief.
  23. I don't see any point in anyone team-building until after the conference. In the meantime, congratulations on the 'Fours' title last Sunday.
  24. Tomorrow morning at 8.30 on SS4. I hadn't even realised we were on the red button tonight. Last time the whole match was on interactive so it was possible to record it. However the technology is not there, it appears, to cope with situations when the programme is split. Therefore, I discovered when I arrived home that I had just the first 55 minutes of the meeting. I have to ask the question as what is the point of transmitting just part of the meeting? Surely, it would have made more sense to have it all on interactive. I am certain they could have filled the 55 minutes available to them to transmit 'all-in-tiddly-winks'!
