  1. I know that Rybnik are riding against Wroclaw on Thursday 7th July but who are the opponents next Thursday as I cannot find a fixture on any list I have been able to locate?
  2. Lakeside will be without Kim Nilsson - Sweden but I am not sure about Ed Kennett. Rye are at Sheffield on Thursday but it is a re-arranged fixture.
  3. Tai will have to be at the top of his game. Being drawn at 4 means two gate 4's, one gate three where he meets Holder and Hancock who will be off the inside starts, then one inside and a gate two
  4. In 2010 a meeting was brought forward to 2pm on a Saturday to avoid a World Cup clash, England v USA. By strange coincidence the opponents were Newcastle.
  5. It's the same situation for Belle Vue. Fricke is 4th in the averages meaning only Cook, Richie Worrall and reserves can take his. I expect it to be a busy evening for both Steve Worrall and Lewis Bridger.
  6. Here are the rules regarding this situation: 17.9 An INJURED RIDER REPLACEMENT (IRR) Is a Facility that allows one certified injured rider’s (#1-#5) remaining programmed rides (including a ride in which he was unable to re-start but was not disqualified - FN) to be taken by other Team Members (including any Guest riders), providing the Team is not already using ARR and subject to: 17.9.1 The injured Rider not having completed 3 rides 17.9.2 Only one position per Team may be declared as IRR. 17.9.3 All riders with an MA below the Injured rider may take one IRR ride each. 17.9.4 IRR is not permitted in Heat 15. 17.9.5 A Nomination once made cannot be changed. 17.9.6 A rider taking an IRR ride may be nominated to take a TR ride (Art. 17.10) However, this probably does not apply if a rider goes into a meeting carrying an existing injury then withdraws subsequently.
  7. Several factors could have contributed. Poor opposition, people going away for the weekend, prospect of being anywhere near the Dartford Crossing/tunnel prior to a bank holiday weekend - there was yet again a problem for those travelling from Kent. With school half-term next week and the quality of the opposition there could be more attending Wednesday than you think.
  8. Greensheet issue 13 now out and wef 30th May. Lakeside must have already re-declared, Ed in Swidders out. Lewis Kerr moves into 1 - 5 and Lewis Bridger to reserve.
  9. Swidders has not been dropped and still keeps his place in the squad. Ed is replacing him on Friday because he is riding in a televised fixture in Poland the same day. It is quite likely he will be back on Saturday along with Ed who will be riding in place of Kim who is in the SGPqualifier at Gorican. It does look as if Swidders will be the one to make way in the long run but there is nothing official yet.
  10. Yes they did. If only 2015 and 2016 results are to be used he hasn't ridden enough away fixtures to qualify for a new average, only two so far - 2015 at Lakeside and 2016 at Leicester.
  11. It's true that a rider on an assessed average cannot be removed from a re-declaration but once he has completed 4 h 4a he qualifies for a true average. Although this is not allowed to drop below 5.00 it is no longer assessed so there is no reason why he cannot be removed from the line-up. In the case of Karger he will receive a true average seven days after Rye's trip to Sheffield next Thursday. There is no precedent yet, but Rye House are not the only club affected by this '5.00' ruling and no doubt it is something else that hasn't been thought through properly. I'm sure Rob Godfrey has the answer though!
  12. I'm sure they have the wrong figure for Pedersen. On a rolling average basis he can't possibly drop from 6.55 to 4.00 on the strength of two meetings for Poole where he has averaged 5.00! I know he had a torrid time for Leicester in 2015 but even if a couple 15 point maximums scored for Eastbourne in 2014 have fallen off the list I wouldn't have thought it would have made that much impact.
  13. The 'five point average' rule might have something to do with visas. I know that this is not directly applicable to Karger but relevant to non EU riders who now come in on five as opposed to what it has been in the past. In other words it might be conditional, and visa is no longer valid if the rider drops below a five point average. However getting back to whether or not you can sack a 'five point' rider is just my assumption but it may be he cannot be replaced by a rider on an average less than five. These are from the 2016 regulations:= 18.6.2 The Assessed MA's for new Riders to the PL racing is: Cat 1 8.00 Cat 2 7.00 Cat 3 5.00 Cat 4 3.00 18.6.2.1 No rider with an Assessed MA, other than the Category 4 rider, can drop below 5.00 at any time during the Season. 16.3.2 Riders with assessed MA’s (other than an assessed 3.00) cannot be removed from a PL Team re-declaration 16.2.7 An EL (not EDR) or PL rider starting the season with an Assessed MA will have an Established MA after 4 Home and 4 Away fixtures, becoming effective 7 days after the last qualifying Meeting. Should an Established MA not be achieved to be effective from 1 st May, then the MC may issue a revised MA, based upon actual rides if the Team re-declares. In fact, based upon 16.2.7, Rye could re-declare now subject to revised MA. despite the fact that Karger's would have to stay at 5.00 as he could be removed now.
  14. here: http://www.speedwaygb.co/files/downloads/el16_issue_8.pdf
  15. This is the reason why his official average has now dropped to 3.00. The '5 point' rule only applies to riders new to the PL in 2016. However the 4h 4a ruling still applies in calculating a true average although it is not allowed to be listed under 5.00. Therefore, once Rye House have completed their fourth away fixture at Peterborough on 15th May, Karger will no longer be on an assessed average so doesn't have to be included in a re-declaration.
  16. I don't believe a rider on an assessed average cannot be sacked. The ruling where such a rider had to be included in a re-declaration stemmed from previous seasons where he would qualify for a true average once he had ridden 4 home and 4 away. I think the promoters have cocked this up just as they have done regarding EDR averages so may need to amend the ruling. Rye are not the only team affected by this.
  17. Now Met Office and BBC are both predicting a band of heavy rain between 3pm and 6pm.
  18. Just as well tonight's match has been moved as it probably would have been called of anyway: http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2639845
  19. This meeting has been brought forward from 3rd June which was going to be a problem anyway. AJ and Fricke both ride for Rybnik in the Extraleague who have a televised meeting the same day and have priority due to the Polish dates being announced before our's.
  20. Unfortunately someone has forgotten to tell the BSPA as it is still on the upcoming fixtures list!
  21. Quite, but unfortunately he and Rye are stuck with it this season following new rulings: 18.6.2 The Assessed MA's for new Riders to the PL racing is: Cat 1 8.00 Cat 2 7.00 Cat 3 5.00 Cat 4 3.00 18.6.2.1 No rider with an Assessed MA, other than the Category 4 rider, can drop below 5.00 at any time during the Season. 16.3.2 Riders with assessed MA’s (other than an assessed 3.00) cannot be removed from a PL Team re-declaration
  22. In fact Wolves would be missing Bech (Poland) and, possibly, Masters (Edinburgh) although I don't know which club has priority. Anyway the situation has been resolved. The bigger concerns are the two home fixtures against Belle Vue 3rd June and 5th August when AJ and Fricke could both be absent due to Polish Extraleague matches being run the same day. Both ride for Rybnik.
  23. BBC Radio Essex reports queues back to junction 4 (Orpington)
