  1. One would have hoped as much. Rye have stated that they will not run on SGP Saturdays. Unfortunately, those dates coincide with many of the the Arena-Essex 'Thunder Show' meetings so clashes involving Rye House may prove inevitable.
  2. Well here's the list. Who around that average, and not signed already, would you have chosen? http://www.speedwaygb.co/files/downloads/2017_team_building_numerical.pdf
  3. Just over four and a half hours but allow a little longer on Fridays particularly during the Summer months.
  4. I wouldn't read anything into that: https://twitter.com/RyeHouseFans?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw
  5. Now on site: http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.31643
  6. There is a National League thread already running.
  7. Rob Branford I hope then who knows. Zach Waijknecht must be in with a shout. One for the future, Tom Brennan who turns 16 next July.
  8. These are the rules taken from the 2016 regs. 17.9 An INJURED RIDER REPLACEMENT (IRR) Is a Facility that allows one certified injured rider’s (#1-#5) remaining programmed rides (including a ride in which he was unable to re-start but was not disqualified - FN) to be taken by other Team Members (including any Guest riders), providing the Team is not already using ARR and subject to: 17.9.1 The injured Rider not having completed 3 rides 17.9.2 Only one position per Team may be declared as IRR. 17.9.3 All riders with an MA below the Injured rider may take one IRR ride each. 17.9.4 IRR is not permitted in Heat 15. 17.9.5 A Nomination once made cannot be changed. 17.9.6 A rider taking an IRR ride may be nominated to take a TR ride
  9. Actually, that is what I thought but young Ben told me I was incorrect. Maybe the principle of mathmatics has change since I was at school. It was in the distant past after all!
  10. If indeed there is to be icing on the cake we may have to wait until Sunday. However, if Rob Branford is announced tomorrow it will be on the right lines though.
  11. Other than Rye House moving up it makes no difference. Somerset and Plymouth are further south but so far away it is not a factor. In fact, Somerset elected to go up as their closest neighbours in the Championship would have been Peterborough, a mere 178 miles away!
  12. Mock older riders at your peril. The eldest of the quartet signed so far is Robbo who turned 40 earlier this month. At a similar age, Greg Hancock had just one World Championship to his name!
  13. Absolutely not. Sounds like they are announcing the new signings first. There is no reason to suggest he has replaced Robbo as he can still be included. Looking at today's press release it seems Rye House are going for a virtual all British team. Kennett, Nicholls, Harris, Watt, Robson and Branford would leave just enough points for young Lakeside asset, Zach Waijknecht.
  14. The eldest of that quartet is Davey Watt who will be 39 next January. At a similar age, Greg Hancock had just one World Championship to his name so age doesn't necessarily have anything to do with it. Also, 30 year-old Ed Kennett may still have the best years ahead of him.
  15. This is the extract from the BSPA statement: The only difference in team building rules between the leagues is that Championship clubs must include a British youngster with a three-point average. And in a bid to help young riders get team spots, any rider who hasn’t achieved a three-point average will come in on a minimum of 2. From that I cannot tell if the '2 point ' rule applies soley to the Championship or both leagues.
  16. Zagar has signed in both Poland and Sweden which rules him out from riding here.
  17. Just to digress very slightly, Scott Nicholls has been announced as the first signing for Rye House.
  18. Rye don't intend running Saturdays when they clash against the SGP.
  19. Actually, King's Lynn and Coventry are the nearest, 88 miles but not that much further on than Peterbrough, 66 and Ipswich 77. Overall, away support might be better as most of the clubs in the Premiership are closer than in the old PL. For example, Somerset were third in distance previously but, in the new league, only Wolverhampton and Belle Vue are further away.
  20. The Polish Extraleague rules state that riders in their league are permitted to ride in one other league plus their home competition. Because Britain is deemed to be Aussies home competition during our speedway season he is still able to compete in Poland and Sweden.
