Scott is a certainty and responded positively on twitter following the announcement of the first two signings and the whole team appears to be built around the inclusion of KK. There are barely any other options. Kenneth Bjerre's average is too high whilst others around the high seven's are already accounted for except Hans Andersen. I wouldn't go there though. He and Scott had history during their season together at Ipswich in 2004 and, whatever you do, don't mention the final heat of the SWC that same year!

If Doyle is to be at Rye they cannot retain either Harris or Nicholls and still keep KK. The maths doesn't work. However, they could go for largely the line-up which finished the season then fine-tune by replacing Wells using Kennett instead plus the 2 point reserve Clegg in order to bring the side within the points limit, but this would contradict the aim of Steve Jensen in having an out and out rider #1.

Does seem odd. Of his 15 heats for Wolves he scored 7 at an average of 1.87. Perhaps that's how it works.

Deceptive rider is Ricky Wells. He joined Rye House during May and started quietly as quiet Americans do. However, from August he rode in eight meetings achieving an average of 8.11 and, possibly, won more heats than any other Rocket during this period.

The only way to have allowed Scott and Edward a team place in the Championship would be to introduce a ruling something like the following. (a). No rider who has a Premiership CMA of 8 or more can ride in the Championship unless he has an established average in that league attained in 2017. (b). Any rider who has a Premiership CMA below 8 is eligible to ride in the Championship in 2018 subject to either: (i) Having a team place in the Premiership for 2018 as well. or (ii) Having a CMA in the second tier during the previous two seasons. Point (b)i) would ensure a new or existing rider doesn't just take a soft option

The other factor, though, is that there might not be enough riders of a suitable standard to fill the existing clubs. There were about 35 riders last season who doubled - five team's worth.

At the moment the only way I can get it to work is that: 1. The conversion is still 1.2 2. Zach and Max then get a 2.5% reduction. thus 42.44

There were 38 Premiership riders who achieved an average of 6 and above last season. Of those, 18 rode in the Championship and remain eligible to do so in 2018. Of the remaining 20, very few would be interested as they have, or will have, teams lined up in Sweden/Poland etc. So, apart from Scott and Edward, there might have been a glimmer of interest from riders such as Timo Lahti or David Bellego but I suspect that's about it. So why shut the stable door now? The horse has already bolted!

They may be busy already with Sweden and Poland. This 'mystery rider' could be someone coming in at the bottom end of the team such as Tom Brennan.

If they have reinstated the rule as it stood in 2016, then Ed is in eligible to ride in the Championship as well: .18.6.4 If a rider has only an EL Established MA from the previous season, which must not exceed 6.00, then a conversion is necessary; the EL MA is multiplied by 1.4
