  1. I'm surprised that go karts were still running by then as they advertise their opening times 9am -10pm. As for last Saturday, by the time the meeting was brought to a halt I'd certainly had enough!
  2. Peterborough were invited to come to the Raceway on 31st August but declined due to rider unavailability although, as far as I can see, only Grondal would have been missing due to a pre-arranged Danish fixture. Ironically, though, it would never been allowed to go ahead anyway due to three CL fixtures taking place already one, of which, involved Scunthorpe.
  3. This curfew has been in place for years. That is why, I expect, Len always ran his meetings at 7pm and 6pm on the rare occasions he staged a double-header.
  4. Saturday's fixture is now a double-header. No start time yet announced but let's hope they have the sense to start at 6pm this time.
  5. Meanwhile back in the studio, Scott Nicholls is more like Scott McKenzie tonight: If you're going to San Francisco be sure to wear some flowers on your shirt.
  6. In a way I am hoping the predicted weather puts pay to both legs on Sunday. Injury doubts continue for Kyle and now joined by Zach and Adam whilst Nick is required to ride in Poland. Aaron Summers has been booked as a guest replacement.
  7. Zach has been withdrawn from tonight's meetings. Jack Thomas replaces him for the Newcastle match and Matthew Wethers against Peterborough. Anders Rowe is named #8 for both.
  8. I have just received confirmation by email that season tickets remain valid for the remaining fixtures at Rye House. Car parking is available within the stadium through the entrance next to the ticket booths.
  9. Not a great deal of choice as the no. 8 cannot be included a PL or CL 1-7 or have an average which would to convert above 2.00. Jason Edwards, who is sixteen next Friday, would have been eligible had it not been for the fact that Eastbourne are riding the same evening. However, there is no reason I can see why he cannot be included for the match against Glasgow or the KO Cup matches v Peterborough.
  10. It is at Rye House. The last ever speedway meeting at Arena Essex takes place the previous evening.
  11. I'm sure he might but ineligible as he is not included in a UK club.
  12. Done I suspect as otherwise our play-off hopes would have hung by a thread. Three home wins and we shall finish on 41 which ought to be enough. It could be a late night and might put off almost all apart from season ticket holders. Len Silver has put on double-headers in the past but starting at 6pm. 7pm could mean the Peterborough meeting finishing around 11.30pm.
  13. They cannot ride at Arena Essex on the 8th September as there is a RTS meeting there. Also, the meeting due to take place at Rye House on 29th September coincides with the 4th round of the Flat Track series.
  14. Not necessarily. Track sharing is an option, Lakeside Friday, Rye House Saturday and even more practical if they ride in different leagues.
  15. This meeting is being re-staged at Rye House on Saturday 15th September. Full statement on Hammers' website today.
  16. Also, although Lakeside's home leg date appears on both clubs' websites, it is not on the BSPA fixture list
  17. The date was offered to Peterborough but they have declined citing rider unavailability but, as far as I can see, only Grondal would be missing as he has a Danish league match the same day. It did appear as provisional fixture up until yesterday. However, bearing in mind Peterborough have outstanding league fixtures they might ordered to fulfill the date.
  18. R.I.P. and in a sad coincidence he and fellow team mate, Bob Dugard with whom he rode in 1969 and 1970 both died within a week of each other. Other Dons of the same era but since passed away include Cyril Maidment, (Slim) Jim Tebby, and Garry Middleton.
  19. I think Normski is referring to the Longtrack meeting being on the 1st September. It is taking place in France so I don't know why Bomber can't get back in time.
  20. Not unlike those committee meetings in the Vicar of Dibley I would imagine:
  21. I was referring to Lakeside's fixtures not Workington's.
  22. So far the match at home to Sheffield on 13th July has been removed from the BSPA fixture list as has the KOC meeting against Peterborough on the 27th. All remaining fixtures are still in place.
  23. It seemed rather strange management from Workington. Only Proctor and Campton were in the points but no tactical substitution used and I expected Campton to have his full seven outings. He may have declined I suppose as only just back from injury but a case in point was heat 9, Workington off 1 and 3 with programmed riders Klindt and Bickley which would have been an ideal opportunity for TS (Proctor) and change of reserve
