Wonder what the actual racing was like? It was certainly draining watching the results come in heat by heat. Mark, if my scipts read like that I'd be rewritting them too! -

Um, well done Darcy Ward? Congratulations? Bravo? -

Tough scenario, this -- last one home is off the podium. -

Pavlic could still pinch this. Edit: Well, he could at the time I typed the above! -

Ward drops a point. So heat 18 can hold the key. -

Fair play to Tai, he's giving himself every possible chance. -

Thank you Sam and Dirt (put like that you sound a bit like an old music hall act, the Chas and Dave of the shale!). Tai is clearly very long odds then. Not mathematically impossible, but very unlikely. -

Just had a text, Tai's exclusion was for tapes. Can anyone advise on the format here? Is it "old school" 20 heats, most points wins, or the latter-day top two to final, next four to semi ala ELRC last night? Edit: Sorry TNT, posts crossed there. Hadn't seen yours. -
Thanks for that, Nathan. Sounds like you had a long enough journey yourself. I thought it was a long haul coming from Wolverhampton (-ish) and I wasn't even driving! KetteringPanther, I honestly can't think of a better idea or concept with which the forum could be associated. Organising it would be the problem, of course, but what a great way of furthering the lifeblood of the sport.

Following on from that, I was impressed not only by Jonah's advice (both mechanical and on riding technique) but the manner in which it was delivered. It's clear that he has a really good rapport with these youngsters and that the words of wisdom stick. This was the first U15 meeting I've attended and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Just hope that the economic situation eases to sufficient degree that there are bigger fields next year. I was told that one of the riders at Northside (Josh Dingle?) had come from Plymouth!

In fairness the competition was originally 500cc class alone. Only recently has the 250cc section been introduced. Two trophies would be good, but I note that all the riders were given a small trophy, there were glass ones for the 1-2-3 in each section and everyone got flowers for mum too! Sorry to miss Rob and Shaleshifter, I was in the pits all through the meeting. Saw the jackets and did wave but not spotted through the Cumbrian drizzle!

OK Rob, look forward to it. Interesting mugshot in the Swindon programme last night...don't be offended if you tap me on the shoulder and I break the record for the standing high jump.
-
Shaleshifter, hope you have a great time and that the matches provide plenty of entertainment. Probably won't be at the Lynn match, but will be at the U15s.

Just back. A cracking meeting, congratulations to Swindon on staging it. Good to see such a fine turnout. A big fillip following the worrying news from Birmingham. -

Yep, was there for that one, too. Noisy lot! -

Gary Patchett is on record as saying that if the meeting breaks even he will be happy. The idea, obviously, was to give fans of the homeless three a chance to cheer the jackets, at least for one night only, at EL level. As an aside on jackets, I was within easy earshot of the Cradley contingent during their second-half Academy match at Birmingham a while back. They had offered nothing but polite applause during the main event (a 45-45 thriller between the Brummies and Stoke) but came to life when what they regarded as the real business of the evening got under way. The opening race was peppered with shouts of "Go on!", "Sign him up!" and, rather sweetly I thought, "Look at them jackets!" -
You coming up from Poole for this one, Shaleshifter? Or are you holidaying?

Reported where and by whom, please? Not doubting you, just interested in the provenance. -

There's no mention of a possible PL move in the article, only closure. Would Dugard consider dropping down a flight and staying on? -
Good analysis, with the solitary exception of your statement as fact that Klindt would have won bar his first race error. Woffinden clearly knew he needed only to finish second in his last outing. He kept close to Klindt, and presumably would have tried a run in the event of error by the leader, but you don't chase what you don't need. Cracking meeting, though, with an attractive field. Surprised you haven't mentioned Ward but he's no secret and one of the reasons I like this kind of event is the chance to spot one for the future.
