Dudley Heathens Vs. Buxton Hitmen 05/10
Fourentee replied to willp's topic in National League Speedway
Never mind the opposition, what about poor Robert Branford? Garrity is some talent and you would want to retain the zest and youthful enthusiasm. But there are alternative means of slowing down other than using riders as a kind of substitute safety fence. Congratulations to Buxton, by the way, on a well-deserved victory. -

In fairness the uncertainty over Mildenhall at the time may have contributed to the delay. -
Golden Hammer - Tuesday 13th July

And my meaning is it was a terrible joke. The smiley indicates complicity in the sense that both us knew that but neither of us was taking it seriously. This one is called rolleyes, which I did when reading your post. -

Get your coat. On second thoughts, I'll fetch it for you. -
Think you may have missed the point ever so slightly. Armstrong was being quoted as a refutation of someone's "the oldest one is 22" post; my response was to indicate that a younger rider currently holds the slot. But, of course, you're right to say that neither was in the original team. And going on from that, what news of Ben Taylor?

Coventry V Wolves Ko Cup 2nd Leg 23/9

Sure. But I am (and this is a first) going into bat for Peter York as he seemed to be getting the blame. -

Coventry V Wolves Ko Cup 2nd Leg 23/9
Fourentee replied to Robbobee's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Not his fault. The reserve date was nodded through quickly on a "should be OK" basis by the promotions and it was only detailed checks with the riders afterwards that threw up the problem. -
Oi! Less of the "one of"!

American Touring Team 2010 October Tour!
Fourentee replied to SteveEvans's topic in National League Speedway
I like the way you focus on the spider bite incident and then casually throw in the broken back as an afterthought! -
Well, clearly that's either an entirely different incident to the one I saw (which from memory contained a mention of Belle Vue?) or it escalated once I had gone past. So I'm sorry to say that I have nothing useful to contribute in that case. Colin, did you speak to a steward or enlist any witnesses? I know the rational things don't exactly leap to the forefront of our minds at times when we feel our safety is in danger.

I walked past two blokes arguing on the steps close to the office; can't have been that, surely? Hardly a fracas (on reflection it was barely an argument). I'd cut Garrity some slack at that age; he's got time to mature. Nearly wiping out his teammate on the last bend for a consolation third-place point wasn't too clever, mind!

Vargarna Riders Championship
Fourentee replied to Fourentee's topic in International World of Speedway
Excellent, MattyHart, many thanks. And Skornicki second for a Wolves 1-2-3. -
Ty Proctor appears to have won the Vargarna Riders Championship tonight -- if I understand this correctly! Would anyone have more details or be able to translate, please? Many thanks. http://klubben.se/vargarnaspeedway/start.html

Just to echo Superguest's comments, Freddie was discussing his and Tai's chances in the pairs half-an-hour before the Swindon match in which he had his big crash. -

Nicely phrased! -
Decimated (the loss of one in ten) might not have been too bad. Three-sevenths-ated with Owen, Jacobs and Hazelden all on the sidelines was another matter entirely. Dudley did what they had to do, and did it very well. Hell, they were even making starts! But Hughes apart the Cobras inevitably found it very tough going. Very impressed that a smattering of visiting fans made it up for a midweek match to support an injury-raddled team.

Gary Peterson Memorial Trophy
Fourentee replied to nigelb's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
A very good night, actually, and unlucky in his last. The four involved had, from memory, 10, 10, 10 and nine points so it was always going to be tough. The break from the gate was pretty even and in the inevitable first bend tussling Larsen got the worst of it and was left at the back. -

I was watching last night with someone who's seen a fair bit of Somerset this season and the moment Proctor made that near-miss pass he predicted that Masters would blow up after the race. -

Wolves number eight at one point about four years ago. Some cracking racing tonight; could see Wolves' play-off hopes going belly-up when Proctor and Klindt were going at it wheel to wheel but mercifully they kept it fair! Tremendous race between Fisher and Proctor, too, with only about half a wheel between them for much of it. Woffinden was head and shoulders above the rest but there was some good stuff from the supposedly lesser lights such as Wolbert and Larsen. This is one of my favourite meetings and the crowd looked a bit bigger than last year's staging. -

Well I trust you have a treat in store and enjoy the meeting. Ty has been a big hit down here as this excellent race with Edward Kennett underlines. http://www.wolverhampton-speedway.com/extras/ytm_gallery/ytm.php?view=1IoUkEu-ovM&p=1 -

Grachan, I know exactly what you're saying and FWIW I agree with it. But you have to admit it reads amusingly! -
I take your point; I was so riveted by the Ward/Woffinden thing that I didn't initially realise who had even won the heat! But we must beg to differ on this one. I still think the Lindgren ride was superb and don't forget he passed the leader too.
