  1. Thanks for the info. Fingers crossed for a quick recovery.
  2. Sorry to hear that. Injured as in a bump that might be OK in a week or two or something more serious?
  3. Many's the time I disagree with Gavan, but what's your issue here? It seems a cogent and reasonable analysis and he's picked your side to win quite handily! Much as the changes have improved Wolves, keep in mind that the two away wins they have recorded subsequently have been against teams currently in the bottom three. I am, for once, with Starman and would expect a home win. Would genuinely be chuffed with a point.
  4. I think you'll find SCB is being a bit puckish there.
  5. Not if it were as wet down there as it is up here.
  6. I dare say. It was more the airy dismissal of the tenants that amused me!
  7. Heavens forfend that the mere hint of a suggestion of arrogance should appear in your post, but "the second half" you have just dismissed in such cavalier terms is actually a league match and for those of a green, red and white persuasion is presumably the main business of the evening.
  8. Interesting point, which would have been even more pertinent had Lindgren appeared in the race under discussion... -)
  9. FWIW Lindgren didn't come out with the rest of the team for the post-match interviews.
  10. Good point for Swindon; well done to them. Doyle and Morris were very quick all night and there was just enough from the rest to gain some reward. I'd be careful about the 'if only' line, mind. You wouldn't then have had the two points from the tactical and Lindgren would presumably have appeared in heat 15. That wouldn't be a guarantee of anything, of course (see heat 13!) but certainly would have lessened the likelihood of the 5-1 in the final race. My feelings entirely.
  11. To be fair I do recall a self-inflicted fall when leading a race by a considerable margin. Pretty sure it was 2009.
  12. Thought the track prep was pretty good considering the difference between the weather that was forecast and what we actually got. But obviously I'm an away visitor rather than someone who attends regularly. As to Lindgren, he generally thrives on a busy schedule. Whether it will all catch up with him further on into the season, we'll have to wait and see.
  13. Some good action on the night and the changes to the track seem to have helped. Would be interested to hear whether regular Leicester supporters have noticed an improvement in the quality of racing. Felt desperately sorry for the club to suffer vandalism and then for poor weather to hit the crowd level. Would also echo the comments of an earlier poster on the excellent quality of the match programme. Fingers crossed that better times are ahead for the Lions. Wolves were excellent and to win by that margin when Howarth, arguably their most improved rider this season, didn't enjoy one of his better nights was a really good performance. But there are other good teams out there which will take their own steps to improve the line-up and it's a long haul to October.
  14. What can they say? It's either off or they're trying to get it on. It's not yet announced as off; therefore they're trying to get it on.
  15. Saying what? We're hoping to get the meeting on but we can't be sure?
  16. I can understand, and sympathise with, some of the points made on both sides of the discussion but this is surely a post beyond irony.
  17. Me neither. My enquiry about which riders the guests would cover was just that, an enquiry. If it came over as a bit brusque that certainly wasn't my intention (apologies if it did) but it's sometimes hard to convey nuance in a post. Glad for Somerset fans that the racing was apparently did. If the team isn't all-conquering, at least you should get a series of close matches at OTA with good action to boot.
  18. Will swap you some paper fivers for the polymer equivalent, no problem...
  19. Unfortunately in new money Belle Vue are a couple of points better off than Wolves (a 4pt away win and a 3pt away win, plus a point picked up for a close loss).
  20. That was partly because you are wrong, ie Wolverhampton won the meeting, but mostly because it was an easy gag! I do take the point; no-one wants teams full of guests and I rather suspect Wolves would have been more than happy to take that match on with their declared seven. But these are the times. With your proposed two guest rule, which of the three Wolves riders wouldn't qualify for cover? Lindgren (Polish league match), Masters (other club's asset) or Riss (SGP qualifier)? Edit: Your hypothetical scenario makes it sound as if the Wolves riders' absence had come out of the blue which is, of course, not the case. It would hardly have come as a surprise to Somerset.
  21. Thanks for that, appreciated. On Wright, Updates suggested he'd clipped the kickboard. You're wrong.
