  1. Classic stuff! Firstly your interpretation of the BSPA ruling - after 7 pages you bring us back to the same point where we started, no further forward - The BSPA "sifted the evidence, and reached a conclusion? So that presumably means a bit of paper that does not exist and a start time that turns out was never offered and could not be achieved anyway - unless of course you know otherwise which nobody from Dudley can turn up. Maybe what as fans we have come to expect from the BSPA. Secondly which part of Phil's post goes anywhere near mentioning winning a meeting? Bit like the "evidence" you allude to it doesn't exist. Support your younger riders - as well as your Elite rider - as next year they could well be the backbone of your side. Take a chill pill. Dudley will deservedly be Top 4 as will Mildenhall, if you are worried that you may end up facing Malcolm C Vasey's revolving Potters then maybe you have no faith in your team which seems a bit odd. Halifax if the stadium cannot be ready then it is a non-starter, you have seen meetings at Mildenhall where the track has not been ready ( not with the current promotion ) and it has not been pretty - this promotion has set very high standards and has a professional approach across the board. I Personally don't believe that the result of what is potentially a dead rubber would sway them to affect the start time or deliberately cut out paying customers but there you go that's my opinion. Kev
  2. Phil you are absolutely spot on, still fancy this to be a good meeting. Lets hope for good weather, and a good contingent of "Speedway" Supporters wherever they are from.
  3. What problem? Read the statement. If Mildenhall hadn't offered / agreed an earlier date how could there be a problem. Suspect most promotion's do not answer all third party information otherwise life would be full. One head scratcher though why would the BSPA be involved and feel the need to make a ruling? and why would they rule @ 3 o'clock? Now that all is out in the open and clear presumably the Dudley promotion will now apologise for listening to a third party and life can move on
  4. So lets get this right then a third party gobs off and winds you up = bad communications Secondly I can't normally be ar*ed but look on the Mildenhall Stadium, a big Banger meeting on Sat 11th means no way you would want a Home meeting on the 12th as a) It would be nigh impossible to produce a good surface in such a short space of time you end up with car parts embedded and loose all over the track that is not possible to clear all in such a short time frame. If Chris Louis can't do any more Sky meetings put your name forward eh! Still, carry on never let facts get in the way. Disapointing that you don't feel that your remaining young un's deserve your support but there you go. Kev
  5. Think about what you are saying here. Mildenhall are the home club and have made no mention, surely it would have been blasted out at last meeting - who put the info in the Star I have no idea, somebody from Dudley? Leicester after the incident with Lewis @ the last meeting - you would listen to them? I certainly wouldn't. That leaves Dudley and would they have the best interest in moving the meeting forwards? hmmmmmmmmmm Van Straaten involved by any chance trying to influence BSPA cronies? If Dudley are that desperate to win they need to resort to such rubbish then shame on you sir. I could be as far away from the truth as you are, but probably know about as much as you. By all means if you have something concrete on paper from Mildenhall that states your case you maybe credible. Kev
  6. Feel you are wasting your time Phil. Reading this thread maybe the best thing Mildy can do is ask other teams when they want to come here and what time they want to start and we will fit in. After the Blackbird issue last meeting who in their right mind at Mildy would want to do the same again - a no brainer, I am sure would put more on the gate too. Have to say I agree with Rhidassa, changing the start time can cause confusion - I guess most of us take it for granted that it will be 4.30 every week and perhaps some don't have access to local media or read website's etc, surely best where possible to keep a regular slot. TBH the only mention of moving the Dudley fixture forward came from a Dudley fan on this forum, not seen it anywhere else and was not mentioned at the Stoke meeting - which surely would have been the obvious time to publicise and advise home fans. I suspect we maybe seeing a bit of mischief making here, or is there a hidden agenda? Heathens take it on the chin, we had to with Lewis last week with no whingeing - we lost and got on with it - best of luck to Lewis, Roynon is quality and is not out of his depth in the Elite, Perry - well if he chooses another Sport his call - that is nothing to do with Speedway and down to your Promotion, Ash Morris continues to improve deserves to step up let them go they will all be back for the play-offs. Kev
  7. Quality pair and I am sure others will also stake a claim, Roynon also good value @ West Row. Camo bt Birks twice at Ippo last week and looked quick today & Steffan very sharp. Should be a good meeting and hopefully a good attendance.
  8. Best wishes to Gary, an untidy looking spill that looked fairly innocuous. Good to see Aaron back, along with Danny Warwick looked quickest of IOW riders. Track looked grippy early on which caught a lot of riders out. Good overall team performance with top stuff from Cameron, although pick of riders for me was Steffan - sheer quality - fully deserved a Maximum and understandably looked a bit upset with his Captain at the end of Ht 15 which spoilt an otherwise unblemished afternoon. With team riding the order of the day for the NL pairs next week for me Steffan & Cam look the strongest pairing. Kev
  9. Spot on Bob although is two sides to this. From Malcolm & Stoke supporters point of view absolutely the right decision for the team - from the riders point of view is a kick in the teeth. Difficult to get a way around that could not be manipulated - maybe if there was an understrength team ( this year Buxton but most have been there ) perhaps a case for "in the best interests of Speedway" a rider in this predicament could get another place on his current average - if only you could rely on people not to abuse it. In my opinion why not include the NLKOC ( and ride all early season ) in the 3 Home and Away to get the first averages? Struggling riders would at least get the opportunity to get some form back early doors. Cheers Derek613 for the info on averages. Kev
  10. Never likely to be a problem, Malcolm is very cute on the laws of the sport and has been helped considerably by the freakish weather this year. Great move for Stoke and will be good to see Simon back at Mildy, don't think he was a failure at Leicester at all, leaving on a 5.22 average. Overall it serves to highlight some stupids that have been highlighted on this forum that should have been sorted many years ago Only thing I can't work out is how, and I am sure there are plenty out there who know far more than I do, if a PL rider comes in on a double up average how he is not on a 10.44 ave? I heard some nonsense that apparently 2012 PL averages don't count - surely even Speedway cannot have such a daft ruling as that average reflects current form better than anything else. Not just applying to Stoke, but the unfortunate part of the way things work is that Jamie is now marooned on a high average due to 1 meeting short while halfway through a season due to 1 meeting too few - not sure how this is good for young Brits or for Jamie. Ben Reade still at reserve and getting 7 rides each week........ we have had the luxury before as have Buxton and many others but it doesn,t make it right. Well done to Ben after being shafted at the back end of last year has come back well and getting excellent results this season. Total nonsense how this is allowed to happen, and those at the top table including Mr.Vasey deserve to be shot on this stupid alone. Forget the hand wringing "not me guv, it's them others" time for promoters to get their act together - none of it is rocket science - maybe the league should provide free back scratchers from e-bay to cut out the current need. Kev
  11. He's wanted by the fans as well, thats for certain. Can see both Nathan and Josh firmly in the main body by the end of the year, and that will be no mean feat. TBH can't see any better promotional teams around that could help the lads develop any better, as long as they keep focused. Kev
  12. Can't disagree with most of the above, both Lewis and Adam were innocent parties. Maybe a collection at next KL Elite league meeting? although not convinced that would work - given the distance between EL & NL. Regrettably the short sightedness of both Sky and the EL will negate the obvious answer, as it is all about the short term fix. Sky could get a tremendous amount of exposure if they sponsored the NL and ran features during their excellent coverage of the league season and raise awareness of a "develop young Brits" programme - the EL? Take one example - Poole ( and they are not the only ones ) - How many Brits? Hope Adam carries on, but ( if he calls it a day ) can understand the frustration. Kev
  13. Hopefully they will keep faith with them Montie and give them a fair crack, same with Mildenhall with the two young reserves.
  14. Screamer trust me you are wrong on Ht 9 having seen the replay, started from the back and Lewis was pushed into Lowe, horrible looking crash though Lowe really smashed into the air fence and then Lewis having his shoulder put back whilst leaning on the air fence. Hope for good news on them both today. Didnt see anything wrong with the earlier incident although TBF the accident at the back deflected some of the attention. Two points on that though firstly thought the Referee should be commended, took immediate action talked to the riders and defused the situation ( if as you say Cockle floored him then I suspect he would have been fined and kicked out of the meeting - which nobody would have wanted ) secondly after the rerun Cockle and Blackbird shook hands, fair play to them both. Early doors for both teams though I suspect lack of competitive track time ( Tigers in only third meeting and Stars probably less ). Goodish crowd, no rain and looked more from KL than on previous visits which is good to see. AJL smoothly run, 8 competitive riders and a good part of the crowd stayed to watch - hope more clubs take up. Kev
  15. Early days my friend, there are other teams out there who may have other thoughts on that. Today saw fourteen riders who all had at least one good ride which I thought produced a very good meeting, considering Cam apart this would have been the first competitive meeting of the season for the rest of the Mildy riders. Roynon after the first 2 rides was back to producing the quality that heundoubtably is, his team riding with Ash Morris in Ht 15 would not have looked out of place at the top level. JJ showed Roynon the way round West Row in Heat 1 ( touche Mr 1984 ) and looked way above the rider of last year, could be a trump card for us this year. Good turnout from the Dudley faithful, look forward to seeing you in the return, think we both have potential for a good season ahead. Had the best structured second half that I have seen for many a year with some additional youngsters out in pairs - 23 plus heats of competitive Speedway on a well prepared track for £12? no brainer. KL up next, expect another good meeting, Kerr has the potential to be quality, Tom Stokes vastly improved and Campos at reserve??? Good job we have Team Manager elect Jonathan Chapman there to at least give us a chance Kev
  16. With a long line of parentage, patriality, licking stamps with the Queens head on etc, etc, etc. I hear Malcolm is trying to get him included under the new squad system
  17. Good point. Surely the question should be a) Can he ride and Does he provide entertainment - the times I have seen him the answer is yes. Same with Garrity is a bit lary/scary, and allegedly has history - but can ride a bike and is entertaining. If both manage to get their heads together I beleive they will come through and progress in the sport. Would pay money to watch them both though.
  18. If not affecting league aspirations is the whole point wouldn't matter if he was Mongolian or from anywhere else would it Sparky. Kev
  19. Thought this was a forum where people could voice their opinions - even you - I must have missed the part where freedom of speech was to be closed. Instead of trying to be a smart ar*e how do you arrive at the little gem "Anyone is faced with financial ruin is deserving of our sympathy" when a) It has been totally self inflicted by their own self interests They were trying to close down a long running business and causing others ruin c) allegedly lied through their teeth do so - the Judge has even ordered that they repay compensation previously awarded, what does that tell you -and in your opinion they deserve sympathy? You appear to be a sadly deluded individual my friend. Kev
  20. This goes slightly off thread but have to disagree with you there, looking through the EL threads there seems to be far worse issues on a regular basis there. Part of the problem in my view is that the moment rules are in place then promoters are finding ways around them ( same promoters who presumably are pushing for implementation in the first place ) - bringing riders in for 1 meeting to manipulate averages etc. Agree with Halifax there is a nasty smell, but realistically the current set up looks unlikely to change - short term best we all get on with it, I suspect it will only be the likes of Sky that can force any major changes. Kev
  21. LOL, hopefully going anti clockwise at the time. Maybe see more of you at West Row this year? Happy New Year to all, whether we agree or not - roll on tapes up. Cheers Kev
  22. You pays your money you takes your choice - but it's not for me. Think it's not right for either the riders or Mildenhall. What Scunny do is down to them, hopefully we wont here whingeing from supporters, crowds down and threats to not run in 2013. Your last point re: The Midland League is spot on IMO and the right way forwards, if you made that competitive then that could produce a Number 8. Kev
  23. Postie hits the nail on the head. Argument will no doubt go back to stand a lone clubs vs rest etc, but interestingly the likes of Rye, Lynn etc are very poorly supported by the punters and not all of this can be down to paying for two teams. I suspect that were they to follow the Scunny route last season of a quality entertaing NL side then crowds would increase. Kev
  24. Totally agree with Nikko's solution, but can't see that happening - just be grateful we are not EL with the shenanigans that appear to go on there on a far more regular basis. But put a balance on it, judging by previous threads Mildenhall are not the first who appear ( and we do not know the total siuation regarding Camo ) to benefit from a decision that appears debateable. On the flip side, Mildenhall are not the only side who benefitted it would appear that gates were up at a number of tracks where he appeared which is additional revenue - although doesn't make it right. The get out always seems to be "within the best interests of the sport", I would suggest within the rules of the sport should be the reason - or IF there are extenuating circumstances then a statement that contains total transparency on the situation. Kev
  25. Best we ask John Leslie then as he seems to know all the BSPA dealings as far as Mildenhall are concerned :-) maybe he can explain in depth the repayment agreement that according to some of the posts obviously must have been in place, then we can move on - although has made zero contribution as far as the way of Brit development goes which is the crux of the matter. Part of the problem, not the solution? Must have been a well thought out smokescreen though if the Academy launch was built into the original submission though don't you think? Are the NL finances seperate from the other leagues or all under the one banner? As for fees vs academy any business has one pot of money, and good business has a business plan with forward cash flow projections and run the business accordingly. Moving back to the point that has been overlooked should BSPA support and funding be available to develop academies? Kev
