Redcar V Rye House (premier League) 4th September
Boothers replied to Shadders's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Can anyone assist. I'm after the Heat times for this meeting as I was on holiday and neither the updates or the official programme contain the times. Thanks in advance. -
2 League matches. 1 KOC match. 1 League Cup match. That's home and away. All season. Not exactly going AWOL on a grand scale is it?

Just like to point out that Rene Bach has the 8th highest average around the STMP of all riders that have had more than 6 matches there. Craig Cook isn't in the top 20. Admittedly this is because Cook rode a few early meetings at reserve for Workington. However Bach's average of 8.09 in his last 10 meetings here for Newcastle/Workington is better than Cooks 7.08 in his 10 meetings. Just because a rider is on top of his form doesn't mean he's going to score points at a specific track (Take Ben Barker another top class rider who doesn't appear in the top 20 at the STMP). This isn't by the way a knock at Craig Cook who is a brilliant rider but more a well done to Rene Bach and to the Newcastle promotion for recognising this. Worth every penny again tonight. Well done to Redcar on a hard fought but well deserved victory.

Biggest Improver 2014
Boothers replied to Paddy The Rebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
How many people raise their average, and by how much? My stats show that over the last three years if you add 1 point (yes just 1) to your average you will be one of the 20 most improved riders in the Premier League. Matej to add at least a point at Berwick this year! -
You've got a better rider in Matej than his average shows. Good luck at Berwick mate, hope you prove all the doubters wrong.

Whilst I can understand dropping Lambert (apologies, I hate saying anything like that) the removal of Nielsen is almost unbelieveable. On 2013 form the lad has added 1.59 points to his starting average and is easily in my 'Top 20 Most Improved Riders' - 12th place at the end of July! Wish he had a chance to go to a club that would appreciate him! I can think of one immediately!

Northern 125cc Championship
Boothers replied to RCF's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Ditto what boz says. Was a real pleasure to watch the youngsters. R Kyle is a superstar at this level (you only have to look at the results) but was well impressed with some of the others. Keep it up lads! -

Seconded to all the comments about Heat 15 Bloody brilliant! How Morris got into the lead was beyond me, but then for Aaron to retake the lead two bends later was sublime. It doesn't happen to many times these days but remind me why I love Speedway again someone! Oh and as for 'Alex should be scoring more' he averages 3.00 around the STMP and was pretty bloody good value for the Rebels tonight. Credit where its due please people. And as for Newman being pointless as he too only averages 3.6 at the STMP Davies' score more than makes up for this. Maybe you should be looking elsewhere to blame! Possibly at other under performers or possibly that some of the Bears team rode out of their skins to produce an unexpected win. -
....and Christian Henry is......???
-
And the BSPA official site has him down as 8 +2 ? Whatever well done Mitchell. Whilst I'm afraid a choice of Mitchell and a fit Max Dilger is no contest, Mitchell suprised me during his period here, always in control and on the pace. Should hopefully walk into a place in another team - lots better than other assessed 3 or 5 pointers I've seen this year.

Sheffield Vs Redcar Bears - Thurs 2/5/2013
Boothers replied to OdsalBoy's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The new averages were in effect for this meeting. Micky Dyer's GSA has actually dropped from the start of the season despite his 'true average' rising by 2.73 points! Gotta love those Rolling Averages. -

Nope, 4 (no bonus) from 6 rides for Edinburgh and 2 from 4 rides last time out for the Comets. Facts! Again nope! Think you'll find we only woke up DURING heat 15! It's still too bloody cold for Speedway! -
2 meetings at STMP - 16 points scored. I am quite confident that he would increase his average from his current 4.83. IMO he wouldn't be a bad signing.

My ear to the ground and friends in high places assure me that next years line up will definetly, without question, assuredly be as follows:- 1) Sooty - ave. 13.00 (goes without saying doesn't it! - certainty for 2013 PLRC but his victory speech will leave a lot to be desired) 2) Baloo - ave. 5.00 (2013 version of Geoff Pusey) 3) Blubber Bear - ave. 12.00 (a gamble on a ridiculously high average but after achieving equal first place after 2 years of WRGP (Wacky Races Grand Prix) with 4 GP wins tying him alongside the likes of Peter Perfect, Penelope Pitstop and the Anthill Mob - possibly a risk worth taking!) 4) Rupert the Bear - ave. 4.50 (despite him being No. 1 with children everywhere he can only make No. 4 at Redcar!) 5) Hair Bear - ave. 3.50 (purely and simply because of his resemblance to Aaron Summers!) 6) Fozzie Bear - ave. 3.00 (at the risk of infuriating a lot of people - everyone loves him but he's not really very good is he? Remind you of anyone?) 7) The Three Bears - ave. 3.00 (Father Bear, Mother Bear and Baby Bear tripling up/down in all 3 leagues) I can't see Jitendra stepping aside (perhaps I need a better optician) but Yogi Bear has offered his managerial expertise free of charge (he's 'better than a millionaire that's because he's smarter than the average bear')

As I understand it in a cost cutting excercise the BSPA are introducing a '1 marmalade sandwich per rider per meeting' rule which should rule out 7 time Peruvian National champion Paddington 'Brown' Pastuso from British Speedway this year - a sad loss if it happens. Although the long commute from his 32 Windsor Gardens workshop in Notting Hill would have favoured a southern club anyway I suspect.

Travelodge Cardiff (you know the one above Walkabout) available this morning for £70 (and it's on the flexible rate so fully cancellable). Only snag is it's pay up front. -

Don't hold your breath - I too thought I'd booked a reasonably priced 3 bedroom apartment through laterooms (also with option to cancel) a fortnight ago. When I hadn't received confirmation after a week I contacted them with the booking enquiry number I'd been given only to find that I hadn't got a booking after all - the apartments hadn't actually released the rooms for next year or even decided on a price! I'm afraid your booking enquiry may prove worthless -
Would be nice to show the Veterans on parade a bit of British support. I hope they get a great reception.

Where Is Everyone Staying In Cardif
Boothers replied to ciderman's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Team Sooty Racing (all 5 of us - well 10 if you count the glove-puppets ) are staying in some 'posh' apartments up Cathedral Road. -
Yes but you need to show your tickets.

Team Sooty Racing will be in attendance
