  1. I wouldn't say he was well clear of him. Clearly looked to be contact as Kerr chopped across the front of him. Garrity did have a cat in hells chance of winning the race anyway so it was barely relevant. Don't think people should take offence to him being a little bit angry though. He was a bit knocked about and had seen his number 1 bike leave the track and get badly damaged. He was hardly going to be full of the joys of spring when he returned to the pits.
  2. So Garrity's a bit of a hot head, who cares. God forbid we see a bit of argy bargy like we did in the good old days! Remember them? You know, when more than a couple of dozen of us used to turn up for meetings!
  3. Garrity had an issue with Kerr over his horrendous move from the start in the initial re-run of Heat 9. I was on the first bend looking directly down the home straight and Kerr came straight across the front of him when the tapes went up leaving him nowhere to go but down in an untidy heap. Punches were being thrown at the pit gate by Garrity's crew as they couldn't get onto the track quick enough. I heard Garrity say that he was going to 'do' Kerr in the re-run (with a few expletives thrown in) but he didn't actually make a concerted effort to do anything silly in any of the other races where they met. He was fired up and had a sore head and arm after the crash. Storm in a tea cup.
  4. Understand what you're saying but it isn't that simple. In many ways, there has to be scenarios whereby a facility isn't allowed, since if you were always allowed a guest, riders would be missing meetings all over the place willy nilly, simply because it's easy to replace them over here. We'd lose out in the event of any clash of fixtures as the other Leagues don't entertain the farcical guest rule, and they'd tell us where to go in event of a clash, as would the rider.
  5. Allen is replacing Howarth at 2. Fisher due to ride according to the Lynn website.
  6. It isn't ideal but options are limited. Those of you bleating about Monday's and Wednesday's clearly know little or nothing. 5 other EL teams have those as their regular race night, which makes things a logistical nightmare. We have four home fixtures to arrange and one free friday. Not to mention that 99% of you that are moaning would then moan that it was on an off night, and claim that you cant attend because you have to wash your hair or cut your toe nails that night!
  7. http://www.lovespeedway24.co.uk/teams/peterborough-panthers/panthers_call_off_meeting_after_bjerre_blow_1_2216578 Precedent is that no facility will be allowed for Hansen.
  8. Fair enough. Should use Olly Greenwood then. Should still have more than enough for Brum with Hans, Howarth, Fisher, decent guest and Garrity and Sarj at reserve.
  9. I'd imagine there'll be a facility for Hansen, since he isn't opting to ride in Denmark as their fixture was on the original fixture list. Can't believe all the bellyaching about this. It's a no win situation for the Bees management. We have a Friday date, on which we were intending to run NL against Buxton, for which 99% of you on here won't turn up anyway. The management have got to try and alleviate a fixture crisis by moving EL into this date, and might have to do it again at some point given that there are still 3 EL fixtures to re-arrange. NL dates are easier to re-arrange, and can possibly use weekend dates since the riders aren't gallivanting across the universe on every day of the week. A Brummies team of Zmarzlik, Nermark, King, Covatti, Grajczonek, Bates and Lambert looks stronger than the team that was due to visit yesterday to me. Switching to a midweek date would be suicide for the Bees. The lowest crowd last year (circa 900) was on a Monday against Wolves and Wednesday meetings just aren't supported well, which is why there hasn't been one since 2011 when Sayfutdinov and Nicki Pedersen struggled to bring one man and his dog through the gate!
  10. There isn't anything difficult about pronouncing his name. There's only two syllables in his forename and two in his surname. Shame he isn't at Brandon on Monday.
  11. There's an agreement in place with Poland. Poole will get a facility. The agreement with Denmark is that the British League takes precedence, hence no facility for a rider choosing to ride there instead of here.
  12. People will take it for what it is and enjoy it. It's only really Bees fans that have cause to truly despise Ford which was why there were so few of us there last night. We're well aware that only one team runs the League and they will prevail, by hook or by crook, come playoff time.
  13. Just got back. Still elated really. Glad I was one of the 8 Bees fans that have chosen not to boycott Poole during those last few heats. One to savour in a couple of years when all we have left is memories. Stuff like this gives you a bit of faith that good things do happen occasionally!
  14. Why's everyone guessing? It is Artem Laguta. Terms agreed, paperwork pending. He's struggled to get into the UK before so this could be the stumbling block.
  15. And comes right back around to Swindon as early as next Saturday. We can lend you Sarj to ride in number 1 if you like? The real farce of this meeting was the way it was run. 2hrs 45 minutes for 15 heats. Everyone involved should be shot.
  16. Exactly. It's all down to Mick's own incompetence like it was with Swindon last year, so no use moaning. How Swindon have got themselves into the same pickle 2 years running is unfathomable and unforgivable.
  17. I'm not trying to prove that it's any closer now, I'm just stating the fact that it's not that radically different to how it was 30 years ago in terms of team structure / strung out races. There will always be good meetings and there will always be bad meetings. I think peoples main issue is that it now costs 17 quid to get in rather than £2.80, and Speedway in any form over the last 50 years doesn't represent a value for money night out for that price. That, coupled with the fact that promoters are largely clueless, is what holds the sport back.
  18. What, because he won't be there to knock a team mate off like he did Fisher at Leicester?
  19. But they're closer to the second string than Gary Chessell was in relation to Tommy Knudsen when the Bees met Swindon in the late 80's, or Wayne Broadhurst was to Jimmy Nilsen in the same meeting. Your point has no validity in the slightest. In the first twenty years I watched the sport, I saw Andy Hackett beat Erik Gundersen once and Andy Meredith beat Shawn Moran after being towed round by Peter Karlsson! Lesser lights beating second strings or heat leaders happened once in a blue moon. Team Speedway is far better when you have riders of varying quality, with the Swedish League being a prime example of how not to do things. Top fives packed with stars, yet the racing is absolutle rubbish consistently.
  20. Andersen reckons the SEC fixtures were known first and he raised the issue in February but it fell on def ears. Someone needs to stick their hand up and take the blame for this one then!
  21. Buy an NUS student card, make a programme at home and park at the pub over the road. I've just saved you about £9! The races are actually less strung out than ever before due to the format, as we no longer have to witness the sort of garbage we were when Jason Crump finished three quarters of a lap ahead of Andreas Messing! You get half a dozen matchups between the heat leaders now, rather than the two you used to get!
  22. Lol, are you a promoter? It's exactly this kind of attitude, and the abject failure to embrace and respond to changing times and technology, that see the sport in the mess it is in currently. The sport is, on the whole, run by clueless dinosaurs in the UK, who think that constantly keeping the fans in the dark and failing to pre publish line ups in riding order is the best way of encouraging people to attend! Has anyone seriously chosen to stay at home because of a choppy little stream, with no commentary and woeful camera work that often causes the viewer to miss the battles for the minor places in races?
  23. I agree. Swindon were half witted in agreeing the Coventry fixture last year, and the Bees have been equally as half witted in agreeing to this one. No sympathy. It is humerous that Swindon are in exactly the same boat next Saturday as well though! I'd actually support a ban of Andersen (and Kildemand) based on the fact that the EL fixtures were in the calendar first.
  24. It's our own ineptitude / lack of commitment from Andersen that sees us in this mess. No problem with Eastbourne running the fixture. Don't expect them to squander a prime Saturday date just because the Bees can't get their house in order. Not surprised Geer is having a chuckle about beating us to Bridger as a guest. I mean, our managment team have only known since about January that Bomber would be missing. Probably can't believe his luck! So Bees line up with: 1. Junior (TBC) 2. Howarth 3. Fisher 4. Hansen 5. Skornicki (G) 6. Nielsen (G) 7. Sarjeant Should hit 25 with ease!
