And it's this pathetic attitude that has seen this crook preside over some of the worst years in British Speedway history! As if a stadium, which is primarily for greyhounds let's remember, is going to be built in 5 months! A greyhound stadium requires fully licensed bar and restaurant so that people can watch in comfort. You can't just knock something up like Leicester (as suitable as it is for speedway) and hope that people will turn up to the dogs.

Yep. Doesn't make much difference tbf. Haven't got a cat in hells chance of beating them anyway. An King would have missed last night anyhow.

Not if a Coventry fixture is re-arranged on a date that Ippo were already riding. Same for all the others as well I presume.

Andersen missing next week as well against Swindon. Will he actually do a meeting as a second string? -

Walasek is no longer in Falubaz declared line up for tomorrow night so presume he'll be at Brandon weather permitting. -

The Danish fixture isn't a rearranged fixture. It was logged at the start of the season. The Bees fixture is a rearrangement of a fixture postponed on Good Friday. -
It annoys the crap out of everyone until someone removes it from the turntable, snaps it in half and chucks it in the bin? You don't like the Playoffs, we get it. Fact is they have very little impact upon how many meetings during the course of the season are rendered meaningless. In the old days of a 17 team British League I'd wager that 12 teams season was effectively over by the end of June as they couldn't realistically top the table. I don't actually mind which format is in use as I've always attended regardless.
-
Yawn, it probably would as Swindon would still have been keen to get Ward in to the team to boost interest. After all, Lakeside were after him and they couldn't really make the Playoffs. Under your preferred format all teams bar Cov and Poole would now be average trimming for next year as they have nothing to ride for. There's pros and cons for the old format and the current, but bleating on like a stuck record is pointless.
-
Exactly, which is why Swindon had to re declare back under the 34 pt limit for the top 5 as Ward couldn't be introduced as a like for like replacement as his ave was half a point higher than Miedzinski. Hence Howarth had to be released as well and Swindon rebuilt using these aves. Ward 8.70, Morris 7.96, Batch 6.92, Zengi 5.62 and Krcmar 4.50 which totals 33.70. The fact remains that if Batchelor had been above 7 at the time of the re declaration Ward could not have been accommodated unless either Batch or Morris was dropped.

Falubaz are riding in a meeting that's been in the list since the start of the season so Walasek will be riding for them. Andersen and Doyle both potentially have Danish League conflicts as well. -

Going to be another Lions select with Walasek, Masters and the reserves missing. Perhaps Coventry should let King ride in the LCSF at Edinburgh for Ipswich to even things up a bit? -
Save Coventry Speedway - Meeting July 23
CB252 replied to speedybee's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Bit of a daft question. The owners of the stadium clearly see that it has a limited future and aren't willing to spend a penny on the venue. They're hardly going to employ staff to open up the stadium on a Thursday night to facilitate a meeting for a group of people opposed to their intentions for the land! -

The problem with the GP series is that you've literally got one rider (Pedersen) with some charisma, and the rest of them who are all in bed together, so you've got no prospect of any controversy before you even start. Couple that with the fact that there are at least twice as many rounds as there needs to be. I suppose the main reason for my apathy is that it's totally destroyed Saturday night speedway in the UK. -

I'll echo that mate. Does any fan actually value this boring, sterile crappy, over long farce of a gp series ahead of league racing at any level? -
Wolverhampton Wolves Vs Poole Pirates 20/07/2015
CB252 replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Don't make yourself look daft when you weren't there. As a Bees fan who has seen his number one miles off the pace several times this year, I can assure you tonight that Holder was not. He met Lindgren three times and got the thin end of the wedge in three belting races. He was also undone, along with Janowski, by a superb ride from Wells in Heat 6. Don't want to sound like CVS but the format was very unforgiving on Holder tonight. -

Again, I'd side with Adams on this one. Wolves were being eaten for breakfast at reserve at the two possible heats he could have made the switch. Clegg had been relatively on the pace and there didn't appear to be any realistic gain from putting Roynon in 4 or 9. Roynon put in his best ride mounted on Musielaks bike in 12. Wolves won this because their heat leaders came to the party at the sharp end of the meeting for the first time in a while. -

As a neutral (that really wanted Wolves to win) I thoroughly enjoyed that. Decent racing on a superbly prepared track and a cracking last heat decider. I'll back middlo on the decision to put Holder in 15. I called it the same and would have done exactly the same. Holder lost out in a number of highly competitive heats, he was hardly dawdling round at the back out of contention. Fred and Wells would have beaten Watt easily in 15. As it was, Holder and fred fought out a great battle for the odd point until Holder lifted on lap three. -

Shame it looks as if neither of them are riding then. Morris for Bates and potentially Williamson for Blackbird. Should be easy pickings for Garrity and Sarj. -
It was 2003 but it was Robbo and Janniro. Happened across the DVD the other day. Great fun. I actualy think our two went down pretty easy watching it again. Don't remember feeling that way when it happened!

Should Rosco Still Be Team Gb Manager
CB252 replied to robert72's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
An untrained monkey could be the GB team manager. It's a job that lasts for four days a year in June or July, covering two meetings where you can pull one tactical manoeuvre in each. A pointless thread for a pointless job. -

And now, by the time they do ride again at Monmore, they will have gone 3 weeks without a home meeting and Poole will wipe the floor with them! -
Fair enough, you obviously know something I don't about what went on. Also, Patchett is no longer on the scene so may not be an issue for him now anyway. I'm sure he'll be back at Swindon next year, presumably at the Abbey, as they're not going to get a stadium built by March now. If not, you can have him the year after when we shut!
-
Surely they never were? The team had bottom written all over it before a wheel was turned, but Karlsson carrying them for a few weeks has duped them into believing it was a decent team.
