Storm V Cradley Heath. 4pm ~ 23rd August 2015.
CB252 replied to Gemini's topic in National League Speedway
No rain for 3 hours and we're now told it's off. An absolute PR disaster of a weekend for the club. They are an utter shambles. The relief when this is all over will be immense. -

Phoned the stadium and they say it's on but possibly delayed start. Someone else has told me it will start at 5. The club showing their tremendous PR skills once again with the website and social media updates. Absolutely pathetic and proving why no one goes and why the Storm are on the verge of folding. Clueless. -

Pouring a couple of miles from track. Don't know what forecast our club were looking at but this is exactly as predicted. -
Battled hard against the best top five in the league. The dithering Dane would have fared no better.

King's Lynn V Swindon 9th Sept 19.45
CB252 replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Swindon could easily finish top. A trip to Poole with Janowski likely to be out, followed by a trip to Lynn with no Iversen. A certain 4 points at Cov and a couple of home 60-30 matches to come. -
Yep, at least we can save the admission money though. Shame as I won't get one final visit to Blunsdon now.
-
Had we been at full strength it would have been 40-50. Walasek did better than the dire Dane would have done.
-
As someone said after the Poole fiasco, there will actually be a huge sense of relief when the 'stadium closed' signs go up. A shambles of a day on and off the track as expected. Judging by the reaction of the few Bees fans there I think most of us are past caring. Honest question, do those of you who said this would be close actually follow speedway, or were you just patronising us Bees fans?!

You're becoming a yawn a minute lately with the anti Coventry rhetoric. Is retirement really that boring? When Jason has stood trial accused of rape, fled cops while doped up to the eyeballs and failed an alcohol test we'll start questioning his grey matter.
-
He needs to worry more about Swindon than our ailing wreck of a team.

I confirmed that at lunch time when I read the Star! Havvy obviously read his copy later than me.

It's just a shame Woffinden has reverted to type. Won a few people over in 2013 when he appeared to grow up a bit after his horrendous social media spat with David Howe the year before, in which he showed total disrespect for Howe as a fellow rider. He's started acting the goat again now though, with the ego getting as big as the holes in his ears.

King's Lynn V Coventry Wed 19th August

Boo hoo, Garrity shouting at a couple of toothless simpletons on the first bend at Saddlebore Road. Hardly the end of the world. -
Doubt he'll be any worse than the utterly useless Andersen. Robins really ought to be hitting 50 plus in this one if it's on.
-
Walasek for Andersen according to the star.

The problem is, the video replay suggested that the referee was wrong to exclude Sarjeant. -
Don't think so. Their top five will eat ours for breakfast and our reserves are bound to chuck some daft points away. 40-50 at best.

CB252 replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well, us Bees fans have been telling you lot for weeks that this team isn't capable of winning meetings like this against fellow contenders and you've now seen it for yourselves. Heat leaders (term used loosely) all badly exposed and Andersen still crap at second string. Even allowing for the heat 12 shambles we got exactly what we deserved. If that was a Playoff semi first leg we'd now be as good as out with an unmarketable second leg to go with the now unmarketable Wednesday night league match against the sparrows. Even allowing for a signing to replace Robbo, you can't win a thing with Joonas as a second heat leader. -
Four. Morris, Zengi, Summers and Batchelor. Lindgren wouldn't be a bad shout as a guest for Hans. Easy away win even with no reserves.

Because we can't afford it? Riders aren't interested? Because it's a worthless competition we won't win anyway? All of the above? -

That's clinched it for me. I'll save the cash and watch on the box if it's on. Shame as I've only missed a couple away this year but with a poor guest, the fact that we generally perform dreadfully at Saddlebow Rd, it's time and money that doesn't need wasting. -

Anyone got a non choppy stream? I've tried about a dozen and they're all crap. -
And if Poole have secured top spot by then, even under pre playoff rules, it would be, yep you've guessed it, another meaningless meeting! How someone that has failed to raise a single valid reason why the old rules are better than the new ones can bang on so much is beyond me!

Elite League 2016 - What Is Required?
CB252 replied to 1 valve's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You can solve some problems by going back to the 1997 EL format of 6 man teams. That's one less guest that teams need to find on any given night! If an EL is to be retained then a couple of midweek nights is a must. Problem with that is that established weekend tracks like Coventry would go out of business in a matter of weeks as people won't watch midweek speedway. Two regional PL standard divisions could be the only viable option. Again, 6 man teams to be considered to alleviate rider availability issues.
