At least Lakeside have tried to cheer us up by signing two riders coming out of retirement!
-
If Horton went to the AGM and had Garrity moved out of the draft so we could retain Sarjeant, then he's an even bigger cretin than most imagined. Shut it down now. Nailed on bottom already.
-
One could say it, but they would be incorrect. Penhall rode in just three World Finals (80,81 and 82) and won two of them, in an era where there was genuine world class opposition. In his short career he probably won as many domestic and international titles as Hancock has in nigh on 30 years.
-
But Bjerre at two, who would likely swap places with him after the first set of averages. Put Bomber at 1 if you prefer.
-
We're not entering it into the Swedish Elitserien though. Who, apart from Poole who we know have already won it, do you think will look any better? Think of realistic signings.
-
Yes, I'm sure it will be, even though 2nd placed from 2014 (King's Lynn) rode in the Shield this year and not Coventry (the defeated finalists from 2014) In true speedway fashion it will be totally inconsistent!
-
No chance. Despite my previous protestations re: signing Bjerre, a team consisting of: 1. King 2. Bjerre 3. Kylmakorpi 4. Garrity 5. Harris 6. Barker 7. Sarjeant (AN Other) would absolutely walk to the Playoff Semis. In fact that team looks so good, I doubt it's even under the points limit?

Open Season On Nicki
CB252 replied to TheReturn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The thing I find amusing about it all is that, when Hancock rode for the Bees, I've stood in stadiums up and down the country and listened to him called every swear word under the sun and had every possible hand gesture directed towards him. I suspect some of those people are now in the 'Hancock Lover' brigade, proving that the fans are as two faced as the riders. -
The game's gone mate. Once the Bees close I'm just going to stop watching it all together and forget about it. It's actually becoming one of the most annoying sports on the planet!
-
Because the botty brigade have got it in for him when it comes to hard racing. In the same race Zagar nearly had Pedersen off, which actually helped Masters get by Pedersen in the first place. Nobody mentions it. There's way too much 'love' between riders now and it's embarrassing to watch.
-
Christ, we've got an insufferable Monster/Aussie sympathiser. God save us from what this sport is becoming, with prima donna riders massaging each others huge egos and being egged on by embarrassing fans.
-
What an utter cretin Masters is. He's got form for this though so no surprise. Welcome to World Championship speedway little boy.
-
He said that all 8 promotors attended the AGM with their own little agenda. When quizzed what his agenda was, he stated that it was to have Garrity removed from the draft list, presumably so we can have him in the main body of the team and protect Barker as a tier one reserve?
-
Pointless worrying about it, we know who will win it anyway. We just don't know who the lucky team that gets to lose in the final is yet. I'd rather fold now and demolish the stadium with my bare hands than sign Bjerre. Would rather watch a Storm rider wobbling around but putting the effort in.
-
It's a pretty safe assumption that he'll only ride for Poole. The other teams appear to have zero pulling power when it comes to making exciting new signings, which is why it's rapidly turning into a one team League with the rest just making up the numbers before they fold.
-
Utter madness and a disaster for loyal Kent fans. Why jeopardise your existence and chuck your hat into the ring to try and finish runners up in the 'foregone conclusion ' League?
-
Here.
-
Here in lies part of the problem. Poole fans misconstrue that they are hated for the right reasons, i.e. because they've won a few trophies. If only that were the case. The primary reason for the bile that comes Poole's way is the tilted playing field that your owner has masterminded over the years, to the detriment of all of the other teams in the League. We're now at a point where the League is actually on the verge of collapse with no apparent chance of it being saved.
-
Here's something I can be 'right' about. Your grammar and punctuation are atrocious. Assumed from the condescending, patronising tone of your posts that you were a Poole fan. Easy mistake to make.
-
It'll be a brave rider that signs a Swindon 2016 contract given that it's extremely likely there will nowhere for them to ride in March.
-
Yyyyaaaaaawwwwnnnn. Juvenile Poole fan completely misses bigger picture.
-
Yawn. We did get past you when we had Sandhu/ Trump which is why Ford clinically removed them as his only threat. We know it's a pre-determined fiddle and that Poole will win. We don't care, we're fortunate enough that we'll be out of it in a years time (or sooner).
-
Cracking condescending match report in the echo. Appears to have been written by an 8 year old schoolboy.
-
Spot on. Why chuck good money after bad entering a League whereby the winner is pre-determined? Oh to endure another year of Poole patronising everyone with their 'you've got a real chance of beating us in this one' comments. Leave them to it and have one final fling riding weekly Speedway and enjoying some decent racing.
-
Weekly Speedway at PL level please.
