  1. It would take more than a couple of rider swaps to enhance to morbidly dull SGP series, what with it being 5 rounds longer than it needs to be and largely on crap tracks. I'll have a go though. Lindgren and KK would probably have a better stab at it than Bomber on last night's form. Even Andersen might get his elbows up in a couple of heats and make a dangerous move or two. Karpov and Vaculik would also be welcome additions in place of some of the old dead wood. What's the point of the question though? Should World Championship qualifying just be abolished and the crooks at BSI just pick their favourite 16 riders for each round? That would make it more of a dull, boring closed shop than it is already. Lambert was half a straight ahead in his fourth ride and the bike packed up. He would have scored 11. That's pretty unlucky. Cookie blew it of his own accord I agree. Garrity's equipment isn't anywhere near the necessary level to succeed in World Championship Speedway.
  2. Was that a tumbleweed that just blew past?
  3. Most who've got a lot to say on here already have given up. They assume that we're still interested in their opinion. They're like the clowns that couldn't be bothered to vote today that will still bleat on about who gets elected!
  4. A protest against the promoters is melodramatic. We're riding poorly, but with a team that Darcy Ward and other speedway star 'experts' said would make the Playoffs. A protest against the stadium owners (whoever they are?) who are letting the place fall down around our ears would be more appropriate. The Bees have had bad teams before, under all of their promoters and in many instances those former promoters also failed to address team issues that resulted in poor seasons on the track. A lot of our fans actually delight in the team performing poorly, so they have a ready made excuse not to go and they can save another few quid to line their coffins with.
  5. What is the definition of first rate entertainment? A team of riders that gate well that win at home by a comfortable margin? The team has lost a couple of home meetings badly, but also fought back to beat Poole in an entertaining match. The reserves have battled and provided entertainment as well. Whilst the team has been poorly constructed, I doubt a top two of KK and Harris, which was one of, if not the best in the league on paper, comes that cheap. We're closing at seasons end anyway so I'm just resigned to turning up and giving the team a shout and enjoying some racing. You can sit at home and count your thousands next year as you won't have anywhere to go.
  6. I'm not wading in on the manager argument, but I'm pretty sure Rosco wasn't the superior rider!
  7. Because if you're a fan, and you know you're going to every meeting, EL and NL, it works out at about 13 quid a meeting. You then don't have to consign yourself to your home for the entire summer because you can't rustle up an extra 3 quid every time there's a meeting.
  8. To make matters worse, Horton tells us that JK loved it and wanted to come back and then says JK is his favourite rider in the press! Classic Mick!
  9. Yes I know. Can't people read posts on this bloody forum! What I was saying is, if they'd have allowed a non EDR guest on Wednesday, it would have been open season for Poole, or anybody else for that matter, trying to fiddle an EDR out of their team.
  10. Yes exactly, that was my point. If they'd have let Poole use say KK for Ellis, that would have effectively overridden the rule that you must have two FTRs in your line up and opened the floodgates up to abuse.
  11. Would appear that common sense can prevail at BSPA towers if that's the case. Any other outcome would have effectively over ruled anything else that's in place re: FTRs. Poole could then have tried it on and dropped Ellis and signed Zmarzlik in his place. Embarrassing that they have to wait until the horse has bolted before they sort these things out though.
  12. The obvious, and sane, solution is for Kurtz to revert to the top 5 on Wednesday and a FTR guest to be permitted for Ellis in a reserve berth. Surely each team must have two FTRs in their starting line up?
  13. Quite the opposite actually. It's going to be a very short season!
  14. You've answered your own question re Woryna. He's done fine, but the only way we can get King to number 4 is by replacing Woryna.
  15. But you wouldn't have a team at all as it would go to the wall in weeks. Think how offended the Coventry OAPs would be at having to leave their homes on a Thursday night and having to pay £20 to get in to facilitate the appearance of a GP star who may or may not turn up.
  16. That will help. What two nights do you suggest? I suggest Friday and Saturday as these are the only two nights that people will attend Brandon in numbers. A switch to a midweek night would close Coventry down within weeks. Whatever they tell you, the people that can't be bothered to go still won't bother attending even if the top stars are there. All that happens is that those of us that do go come hell or high water will be stuck with a crap race night!
  17. Of course people leave miserable after a loss. I've left the stadium miserable many times over the last 33 years but not as miserable as I'll be when I walk out of that stadium for the last time at the end of the season. Will support the fighting bee on the terraces until it takes its last buzz, no matter who is running the club. Clearly I'm in a minority.
  18. The current promotion were in charge of the 2013 debacle that I mentioned, so you concede that they are capable of recovering to have good seasons to a degree as they did in 2014/15?
  19. KK had a couple of crap rides, bomber had a couple of crap rides, king is out of position as we know. The reserves I thought battled pretty hard. Oh that's it, you're right, it's all utterly, utterly useless. I'm never attending another speedway meeting ever again.
  20. Would be a nonsense to say the riders aren't committed to the cause on tonight's showing. All were trying, they're just not good enough to win meetings consistently at this level.
  21. That won't help will it? I hear we're still trying for Bjerre so how will people vowing not to attend help pay for him? People are so bloody uncommitted these days. We lost a meeting to a Swindon team that out rode us in what I thought was a half decent meeting. So we should clearly never attend another meeting again? Christ, how did you lot cope in 89 when Niemi replaced Knudsen or in 2004 after the Oxford debacle or 2013 after the Peterborough drubbing? I'd just recommend supporting the team for the last few months of its existence than persisting down the 'I really showed Horton by not attending' route.
  22. The rich over 60's are all at home with their feet up counting the 17 quid they've saved. They'll all be off to Costa in the morning to squander it on coffee and cake. They can have a good old chuckle to themselves when we shut down.
  23. Wouldn't bother the way he just rode in his third ride here.
  24. Shambolic performance so far and hardly anyone in the stadium again. Worrying times for Bees fans. Just hope we see the season out.
