A switch to a midweek night would close Coventry down within weeks. Whatever they tell you, the people that can't be bothered to go still won't bother attending even if the top stars are there. All that happens is that those of us that do go come hell or high water will be stuck with a crap race night!

I'd just recommend supporting the team for the last few months of its existence than persisting down the 'I really showed Horton by not attending' route.

And he's their asset, so well within their rights to sign him themselves once they realised that they'd get saddled with Watt if they didn't act quickly. Fact is, no one is either equipped or willing to come over here and commit to a team spot at this early stage of the season, so we'll just have to get behind the riders we've got for now. Yes, unfortunately it is being proven that the people of Coventry are not interested in attending to watch Speedway at either NL or EL level, and would rather sit at home feverishly following results on the internet than actually attend a match. The problem the club has, if they were going to make a signing, which they aren't, is that all the riders being talked about have organised their schedules based around not riding in the UK. You could sign Bjerre, but I dare say if you looked at all of his other league commitments and the GP Qualifiers, he'd probably only be able to make a handful of meetings. I suspect Kasprzak will be missing a lot of meetings now due to his progression into GP/SEC rounds?

The race format they should revert to is the original 15 heat BL format. Effectively, the traditional 13 heat format with an extra reserves race and a nominated race bolted on. Two reserves races offers more than enough protection for the nos 6 and 7. Let them try their hand against the big boys in their other two races.
