  1. Would appear that common sense can prevail at BSPA towers if that's the case. Any other outcome would have effectively over ruled anything else that's in place re: FTRs. Poole could then have tried it on and dropped Ellis and signed Zmarzlik in his place. Embarrassing that they have to wait until the horse has bolted before they sort these things out though.
  2. The obvious, and sane, solution is for Kurtz to revert to the top 5 on Wednesday and a FTR guest to be permitted for Ellis in a reserve berth. Surely each team must have two FTRs in their starting line up?
  3. Quite the opposite actually. It's going to be a very short season!
  4. You've answered your own question re Woryna. He's done fine, but the only way we can get King to number 4 is by replacing Woryna.
  5. But you wouldn't have a team at all as it would go to the wall in weeks. Think how offended the Coventry OAPs would be at having to leave their homes on a Thursday night and having to pay £20 to get in to facilitate the appearance of a GP star who may or may not turn up.
  6. That will help. What two nights do you suggest? I suggest Friday and Saturday as these are the only two nights that people will attend Brandon in numbers. A switch to a midweek night would close Coventry down within weeks. Whatever they tell you, the people that can't be bothered to go still won't bother attending even if the top stars are there. All that happens is that those of us that do go come hell or high water will be stuck with a crap race night!
  7. Of course people leave miserable after a loss. I've left the stadium miserable many times over the last 33 years but not as miserable as I'll be when I walk out of that stadium for the last time at the end of the season. Will support the fighting bee on the terraces until it takes its last buzz, no matter who is running the club. Clearly I'm in a minority.
  8. The current promotion were in charge of the 2013 debacle that I mentioned, so you concede that they are capable of recovering to have good seasons to a degree as they did in 2014/15?
  9. KK had a couple of crap rides, bomber had a couple of crap rides, king is out of position as we know. The reserves I thought battled pretty hard. Oh that's it, you're right, it's all utterly, utterly useless. I'm never attending another speedway meeting ever again.
  10. Would be a nonsense to say the riders aren't committed to the cause on tonight's showing. All were trying, they're just not good enough to win meetings consistently at this level.
  11. That won't help will it? I hear we're still trying for Bjerre so how will people vowing not to attend help pay for him? People are so bloody uncommitted these days. We lost a meeting to a Swindon team that out rode us in what I thought was a half decent meeting. So we should clearly never attend another meeting again? Christ, how did you lot cope in 89 when Niemi replaced Knudsen or in 2004 after the Oxford debacle or 2013 after the Peterborough drubbing? I'd just recommend supporting the team for the last few months of its existence than persisting down the 'I really showed Horton by not attending' route.
  12. The rich over 60's are all at home with their feet up counting the 17 quid they've saved. They'll all be off to Costa in the morning to squander it on coffee and cake. They can have a good old chuckle to themselves when we shut down.
  13. Wouldn't bother the way he just rode in his third ride here.
  14. Shambolic performance so far and hardly anyone in the stadium again. Worrying times for Bees fans. Just hope we see the season out.
  15. The website is absolutely fine. Here's the latest as of 15 mins ago. THE band of afternoon rain has cleared as forecast and we now have sunny conditions at the stadium. The track is drying and tonight's meeting against Swindon is ON (7.30pm start). Should there be any change to that position, the website will be updated immediately.
  16. Even if he had virtually signed on the dotted line here, he was never going to pass up the chance to ride for Poole. And he's their asset, so well within their rights to sign him themselves once they realised that they'd get saddled with Watt if they didn't act quickly. Fact is, no one is either equipped or willing to come over here and commit to a team spot at this early stage of the season, so we'll just have to get behind the riders we've got for now. Or we could all have a strop and stop going and ensure that the club doesn't see out it's final season?
  17. Good luck finding anybody better given King's 5.67 average.
  18. Andreas Messing? Whoever it is, the fans that can't be bothered to attend will still find an excuse not to.
  19. Yes, unfortunately it is being proven that the people of Coventry are not interested in attending to watch Speedway at either NL or EL level, and would rather sit at home feverishly following results on the internet than actually attend a match. Still, won't be an issue next year, we'll all be stuck at home with nowt to do.
  20. The problem the club has, if they were going to make a signing, which they aren't, is that all the riders being talked about have organised their schedules based around not riding in the UK. You could sign Bjerre, but I dare say if you looked at all of his other league commitments and the GP Qualifiers, he'd probably only be able to make a handful of meetings. I suspect Kasprzak will be missing a lot of meetings now due to his progression into GP/SEC rounds?
  21. There isn't going to be a signing. The Pole will be back from injury in a couple of weeks. Guess Barker will cover King's likely absence on Monday?
  22. Just under 200 I think, so Mick wont have to let many in for a tenner against Wolves. Incidentally, the title of this thread is a total fiasco. The Wolves meeting is on Monday 9th May and is scheduled to be on Sky.
  23. Eventually they will get it right and start well and finish the job properly. I think this will be the meeting.
  24. You're joking aren't you? If it's 39-51 Lynn will have done well.
  25. The race format they should revert to is the original 15 heat BL format. Effectively, the traditional 13 heat format with an extra reserves race and a nominated race bolted on. Two reserves races offers more than enough protection for the nos 6 and 7. Let them try their hand against the big boys in their other two races.
