  1. What would frighten you is the bank balances of the promoters. They can't afford to pay for what they have, let alone try and entice more top riders over here. How do they make it stronger? The frightening thing for me is that some people think clubs should all switch to ridiculous midweek race nights in a bid to strengthen. I want to be at Brandon on a Friday or Saturday.
  2. I always think they put too much dirt on Lynn. Always great big clods of earth flying into the crowd!
  3. You haven't been to King's Lynn for a while have you? Racing has been pony there for a few years now. Only Leicester worse in the EL.
  4. Woffy as a second string actually weakens Wolves. Can't get why some people don't understand that.
  5. Encouraging for Wolves fans then as that will give them, on average, about 8 years longer to live than those that frequent the main grandstand at Wimborne Road.
  6. Surely the riders won't stand for it unless the Poles pay them a guaranteed salary? And I mean pay them, not just write a number down on a bit of paper but never pay up like the majority of Polish teams.
  7. You missed the PR. Our latest demise only lasted 6 days. Resolved by two blokes talking to each other! If Rye House come up they may as well just burn a big pile of cash and shut the place down now. If they move away from Saturday's the club would fold within weeks.
  8. Why didn't they have that talk last week before Friday's shambles that created another week of worry for fans?
  9. God help all you clubs that are operating next year. Ford will wreak havoc in the winter.
  10. Would rather watch nothing. The NL is utter tripe which is why no one watches it at Brandon. Brummies are worried about their stadium as well.
  11. There's enough material on this thread for an entire conference.
  12. And the fact that Woffinden rides as a second string massively weakens Wolves. Particularly given that they've left him in no 4, which is the worst place you could put your best rider in this heat format, especially at home.
  13. The MDL team have ridden almost all of their home meetings on the road this year because of stadium 'unavailability' thanks to the ever helpful former owners. Doubt there will be any further two wheeled action this year due to Sandhu's last stand. You have to wonder whether it's worth being saved when you look around on other threads and see them dominated by discussions regarding who's pulled the best stroke to try and secure the latest hollow victory.
  14. Does anyone care? None of the riders will turn up anyway.
  15. Sandhu has had his nose pushed out of joint because he wanted the place closed. A new lease didn't fit in with his plans. He's jacked up the food and drink prices over the last couple of weeks and is probably just generally making things difficult as a parting shot.
  16. Jacobs purchase was never completed as they got wind he was retiring. Not sure Lynn ever paid for Schlein.
  17. Oh well, that's that then. That was a waste of 33 years of my life. Can a moderator delete this thread?
  18. Coventry have never owned him. Thankfully. Don't think Horton has ever successfully sold anyone.
  19. I can't think of anyone he has actually sold? Who buys riders these days?
  20. Looks as good as over. Wolves need to stick Tai in no.2 on Monday, otherwise they go 5 heats without him due to the ridiculous race format, in which the tie could disappear without trace. Dump PK at Four.
  21. Strange because at Monmore last Monday, they announced at least 20 times that the next home meeting would be either Wednesday 21st or Monday 26th. What changed in the few days after, who knows? Doubt there's a huge conspiracy, since whenever Wolves have had the choice in the Playoffs they've almost always chosen to ride at home first. More likely that both promoters decided that it would be better for them to run on their normal race night.
  22. Slightly confusing to say the least? Nicki rode 20 meetings at the start of 2011 for Peterborough and averaged 8.61. Good for 4th overall in the national averages. Wish some of today's lightweights would come and take the P with those kind of stats!
  23. I'm not sure it would be any different with anyone else in charge. The whole place is just on life support. Don't honestly know what the answer is to bring it back to life. The 30 heats tonight were woeful. Track like a motorway from heat one of the first match and barely a pass all night. Previous EL action at Brandon had been decent up until the last couple of meetings to be fair, but that was depressing poorly presented dross tonight.
