I've haven't seen a single post in your 17,000 plus where you've ever been right about anything. Moving to Leicester is short term financial suicide for any would be promoter. The signed team of riders should by all means move to Leicester, but they should race as the Leicester Lions.
-
You're a bonehead. We don't want to move to Leicester. Closure would be a better option. Leicester are struggling to house their own team without taking on a bunch of nomads. Even if people travelled initially, they would soon get fed up as the racing is utter pony and whoever promoted it would be bankrupt in months. Barely missed a home meeting in 33 years and gutted, but it's gone and we move on to the next chapter which, for me, will be to go from attending 70 plus meetings a year all over the country to zero. Always likely to come to this once Ochiltree sold it.
-
He's right though. Who do you honestly think is going to sign for us? Even Bates and Garrity aren't certs now Havvy has gone. Rye will have a far better team than us.
-
Not from a racing point of view it isn't. Still it's a few quid saved as I won't bother going now.
-
Don't see why people keep saying Ellis should have ridden PL. Chances are he'd have ended up in an even bigger mess like Garrity has on 8+ He will be. As our number one probably.
-
Garrity is on 8.55 and effectively unemployable by anyone sensible. Same as Ellis.
-
You ran out of points after the fifth rider. Nicholls Nilsson and Kennett are all over 9. Garrity is well over 8 and has a higher Ave than Michelsen so won't be a reserve anywhere.
-
Nielsen averaged 11.83 in 1986. Riders can't do it now of course as they have neither the talent or dedication.
-
The season ticket money has been stolen from us I'm afraid. Drove past Brandon earlier. Didn't appear to be 'unavailable'.
-
Let's face it, it won't be anyone with an ounce of credibility.
-
Havvy has left then. Some will be happy. We'll remind them of that when Rogers is unveiled as the new boss!

Nicki Pedersen alluded to one of the main issues a couple of months back during his UK talk in. He said a fixed race night wouldn't necessarily bring him or any of the other top boys back here. To do mainland Europe you can set yourself up with a van and a couple of mechanics. You need an entirely separate set up for the UK, and the cost of doing so is quite vast before you even think about how much you're going to earn.

Agree Phil, but the simple problem you're dealing with here are the riders. They won't do it. You won't get two PL boys to sit there all night on the off chance of a ride as they're far too important. -

There was plenty of grip on the track. Hence Kennett and King recording 58 second times early on, which must be two of the fastest times of the season at Coventry. The racing actually improved towards the end when it slickened off. Some people think the race off at BV was bad because it was slick. It wasn't. It was bad because it was grippy. -

The problem is you don't know when a meeting will be crap. I didn't go to Sheffield assuming the PLRC would be crap or Belle Vue assuming the world cup race off would be crap, but they both were. Some speedway meetings are crap, some are good. That has never changed. -

You haven't been to Coventry this season then? Racing has generally been excellent. The racing was marginally better last night than the World Cup race off at Belle Vue which was awful. Sometimes tracks are far too grippy which produce super fast tracks which the riders love to ride but don't provide any racing worth watching. Had the track been poorly prepared with holes all over it it would have been a better meeting. And the crowd turned up because it was on a Saturday night. The night speedway is meant to be staged at Coventry. -

You missed the best race. It was very similar to the PLRC at Sheffield. Very fast and almost entirely from the gate. Couple of good races towards the end. Individual competitions have a tendency to be boring. Team speedway is always far more interesting. -
Actually looking forward to watching Ellis and Newman. Both good lads who will get stuck in and give it a go. Both ride Coventry well. Rather they rode than a so called top rider turning up, sulking and putting in half an effort

They've mentioned that Holder can't be bothered. Cook probably just plans to not turn up on the night. Tripped over his bottom lip after Wednesday apparently. -

Unfortunately the majority of people in this country feel the same way as you. Some of us do still like to watch live speedway though and 20 quid to watch Iversen, Harris, Lindgren, Nicholls, Lambert, King, Masters isn't that bad a deal, especially when you only live 5 minutes from the track. Still, I'm sure if we all rode on a Wednesday night with Ekstraliga strength teams, and it was 28 quid to get in, all you stay at homers would be rushing to the stadium? -

To be fair, most of the top boys rode in the Polish League Riders Championship and didn't even try because they didn't feel they were getting paid enough. It was a rubbish meeting and was won by a reserve, Krystian Pieszczk. Speedway riders are on the whole a dreadful bunch these days. But I suppose they're like everyone in a way. They want to do the minimum amount of work for the maximum reward. The rest of us don't get four months a year off though! -

Both already riding for their PL club. -
Let's face it, we've got bigger issues than Nielsen leaving. Can't think who on earth will ride for this club next year.
-
We all keep hearing how CVS radically rebuilt the team and went against his normal principals of using assets that had umpteen years of service. Yet the team that won the League featured PK, Fred, Woffy and Thorssell who have decades of Monmore service behind them. Hardly a groundbreaking team reshuffle. Would the team with Bech and JK in it have won the League? No chance. Good management bringing Tai in though.
-
Don't see why you wouldn't want that team? Would be super strong at Monmore and do enough away to breeze into the Playoffs and probably win them. Doubt anybody's team will end up that strong though.
