  1. Having stood in the car park on March 10th and listened to the solicitor for Brandon Estates declare whom they hold entirely responsible for this sorry mess, I'll be pleasantly surprised if civil action is not forthcoming.
  2. Next move is civil action against Sandhu according to the article.
  3. Garrity and Sarj both unavailable as well so seems little point in this meeting going ahead.
  4. Richie does not have a Premiership team. Steve rides for Belle Vue.
  5. https://youtu.be/0obOFRSMJY4 Full coverage here. Decent meeting.
  6. The thing that always strikes me is how clean and tidy the stadiums look in Poland. They look impressive and the sort of place where people would want to watch sport. To me that is the single biggest factor holding British Speedway back (apart from the promoters). Our stadiums are no longer fit for purpose.
  7. Already a subscriber so it's good for me, but I can see your point re the Polish League. I'll probably still watch live on the Internet on a Sunday where I can as well. Problem for Premier is that, throughout the summer on a Sunday evening they show a live NASCAR race. Speedway is an insignificant and rather embarrassing tadpole compared to NASCAR, so it's unlikely that it'll ever usurp the NASCAR from it's live slot, unless they lose the rights. They could maybe squeeze the first Sunday afternoon match in live, and who knows what will happen with the non Sunday live matches? Maybe a live opportunity there? For now, it's a start and the Ekstraliga is finally on UK TV, and hopefully it can only help move it towards a regular live slot on a UK channel going forwards if it's well received.
  8. Already a Premier subscriber for the excellent NHL coverage. Shame the Ekstraliga won't be live but brilliant news all the same.
  9. Good meeting, highlighting the simple beauty of getting back into a match using traditional taccy subs and reserve switches. So much better than the double point, penny pinching, embarrassing tactical rules in the UK.
  10. You want the league to run on specific nights. The rest of us don't, and know that Somerset will get a far bigger crowd on a Friday night without Holder there than they would on a Wednesday with him there. We do need to get rid of guests and doubling up, agreed, but not by forcing clubs to ride regularly on nights of the week that will see them out of business within weeks.
  11. No one should get near Wolves at home now. Thorssell not quite on it in his early rides and they still win handsomely. Riss looks like he'll be a useful reserve too. Hats off to Robbo. Always in the thick of things. Let down by his heat leaders tonight.
  12. Not totally surprised by the score as I still don't rate this Rye team. Some cracking racing though. Thoroughly enjoyed that match.
  13. Apart from the one at Rye House they already won?
  14. But who in their right mind would put speedway first when stox make ten times the amount of money from a quarter of the fixtures?

  16. Enjoyed it myself. A decent Coventry contingent around us and we enjoyed a good night's racing. Andersen superb for Poole. Looks like a new man. Blew King away in 13. Great battle between Bjerre and Holder as well. Thanks to Poole for their hospitality. Not too bad a crowd I didn't think. Reckon the meeting might just about have paid for itself which is about all that can be hoped for from a challenge these days.
  17. Hopefully this link works and will serve as clarification regarding Wednesday's arrangements and prevent any further unnecessary stirring. https://twitter.com/jeffdavies170/status/853958473494794242 Hopefully plenty of fans will attend and enjoy a decent evenings racing.
  18. He did redeem himself by ensuring that Bacon took his 3rd ride in heat 13 though. Didn't spot Heeps lack of a deflector in heat 3 myself to be honest. Quite enjoyed that as a neutral.
  19. Even now he can't hide his glee at Coventry's closure and has to get a dig in. You know full well that several Coventry fans are interested in this meeting. With the select side expected to include King, Harris, L.Bjerre, Garrity with Bates and Sarjeant at reserve, the opposition will likely be stronger than at least 5 of the 'real' teams that will visit Poole this season. Several Coventry fans planning on making the trip. Presumably the same fans that reportedly provided Wolves with a larger crowd on Monday than they had for their League meeting the week before! I agree that prices should be reduced though.
  20. Will KK even make it on Sunday? He's still got a couple of days to sustain a freak injury clipping his toenails whilst waiting to catch his flight.
  21. Not sure what people were expecting from this exercise? Of course some of the meetings will end up as Bees select sides, but it gives us a story to put in the paper over the next couple of days and Jeff will bombard them with pictures I'm sure. I enjoyed it. Caught up with people I hadn't seen since Peterborough, whom I normally see a couple of times a week at meetings, and saw some decent heats. Masters v King and Schlein in 13 was great stuff and better than anything I observed at the 'real' meeting at Leicester on Saturday.
  22. Watt looked dreadful on Friday in a televised Polish match from Rzeszow as well, against a Pila team that wasn't exactly packed with stars. The problem with adding Wells and Schlein is that they will be unavailable half the time. Branford apparently didn't know where he was going yesterday and had his final destination changed a couple of times. Just highlights why doubling up needs kicking into touch for all bar young Brits who can be easily replaced. The current situation is a total farce and an utter embarrassment to the sport.
  23. He's did his best Norrie Allen impression! Thankfully there were very few left behind to hear it. This, coupled with the poor time keeping, poor racing and the usual poor sight lines and lack of facilities at Beaumont Park will keep all bar hardcore supporters away. Shame that a track that I can get to in 25 minutes is the one I'm least likely to attend again this year. Giving Rye a go next week, although that was apparently rubbish last night as well. Thank God Peterborough isn't too far and they ride mostly on a Sunday.
  24. The shambolic way the meeting was run won't help either. You can get away with poor racing to an extent if you run the meeting well. This dragged on for hours. Why can't all tracks start on time and run meetings efficiently like Wolverhampton? People say it's down to the ref but it can't be as Wolves meetings are consistently better run than at any other track in the country, regardless of ref.
  25. I don't have to thankfully. As I'm a nomadic Bees fan I can pick and choose, and I'll only return to Leicester this season for the Bees challenge match. The track will never be any good. Riders just get so strung out over the 4 laps. I'll stick with a weekly trip to Peterborough.
