Who exactly are these dangerous riders that are causing accidents every night of the week? Way more accidents, injuries and deaths occur on Polish tracks as all the riders are riding like nutters chasing the big money they get promised and occasionally paid.

Jack Holder And The (lack Of A) 9 Month Ban
CB252 replied to SCB's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Of course the stance that should have been taken was to reluctantly release him to Poland and let him cop for a 28 day ban. He missed most of Boro's meetings in August anyway and none of them were at home. The main issue with this was no doubt his parent club being unwilling to accept him being banned for a month when they themselves had already refused to release him to Poland at the start of the season. However, coming out and releasing a statement saying that you've sold the final piece of British Speedway's integrity to Get Well Torun was the height of stupidity. -
Riders did an awfully good job of disguising their bikes taking off then, as can only recall Bacon in heat 4 getting into serious bother. Was thinking of Ipswich on Saturday and Boro again on Sunday, but I'll certainly never risk travelling so far to see Rory Schlein ride again. Simply isn't worth the risk. There's certainly a business opportunity for Steve Worrall if he needs any extra cash. He could hire a classroom and try and teach some of his colleagues how to be classy both on and off the bike.

Well, back from another absolutely shambolic night for British Speedway. Another shot to the groin. The feet, ankles and thighs were shot off years ago! Clueless officials, and the dreadful attitude of certain, not all, riders will drive this sport into oblivion. We've all seen meetings completed on far worse tracks than this. Of the few hundred in attendance, that will probably ensure that another 200 never attend again, so even if Peterborough do survive their punishment they will feel it in the pocket for the rest of the season. With a couple of other Championship clubs also on the brink, the whole sport is in danger of falling over the edge of the cliff this winter.

I'm a regular from Coventry (only missed one match all year) and still thinking of going. The chance to see Harris, Schlein, Worrall, King go head to head at the showground is still quite an attractive prospect to me, not to mention Starke and Lindgren. The A fixture in May was an absolute classic. If anyone local can post a weather update on here later would be much appreciated.

Belle Vue V Rye House 30 Aug 2017

The forecast for Pererborough is woeful, so a good chance all riders will be available for this match, assuming the forecast for Manchester is any better? -
Kings Lynn Vs Wolves ( Double Header) 23.08,17

Getting hammered due to all sorts of bad luck shows way more integrity than taking a bung off some bent Poles and letting a rider go and ride somewhere else. -
Fixed Race Nights For 2018 Season
CB252 replied to Perton Wolf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It might do to a degree, but at some point the Thursday tracks will need to race each other. At best you might get fortnightly meetings which, to be fair, would be an improvement to how it is now. -
Fixed Race Nights For 2018 Season

But at the moment Redcar ride every Thursday. Why would they want to move up and be handed a sporadic fixture list where they squeeze one match a month in and then do 12 home meetings in the last 6 weeks. -
Fixed Race Nights For 2018 Season
CB252 replied to Perton Wolf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I don't think anyone doubts that we need to move forward. It is beyond any doubt that the UK speedway model is useless when faced with the challenges of fitting in around international speedway. The problem is, our stadiums are not club owned and are so outdated and run down that it's virtually impossible to find a way to move forward that suits everyone. You can't sell a professional sport in our stadiums. They are literally a disgrace, barring a handful. -
Fixed Race Nights For 2018 Season
CB252 replied to Perton Wolf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'm sure they will try it next year despite the obvious problems, but I fear that any club in either tier that is forced to move from a long established race night would end up in bother pretty quickly. -
Fixed Race Nights For 2018 Season

So we're already getting down to some of the issues faced just by having a discussion on here. You can imagine how easy it will be for the promoters to discuss this. I mean, they're well known for being sympathetic to each others business plan for the greater good of the sport aren't they!!?? I guarantee you that the team line ups a week before the season started would have you questioning if it was all worth it. I've sat and listened to top riders that have categorically stated that fixed race nights will not get them back here. -
Fixed Race Nights For 2018 Season
CB252 replied to Perton Wolf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes, in the afternoon before the Speedway, which would be the same on a Wednesday. However, dogs don't run on a Tuesday at Monmore but they do on a Thursday, so Ladbrokes probably wouldn't be open to a switch to Wednesday's. Could Swindon change to a Monday easier than Wolves could a Wednesday if they have anywhere to ride next year? Would long established Thursday tracks in the second tier want to, or be able to, switch racenights? The people who think this a good idea are always the people who's club would be least affected by it. -

But then Wolves will struggle to race in the top league and you'll be asking Sheffield, Ipswich and Redcar to move up or change their race night, otherwise you won't solve the Thursday doubling up issue. Couple that with the fact that many of the top riders wont ride here anyway as they don't want the expense and hassle of the extra machinery, van and mechanics that would need to be based here. It has no chance of succeeding on any level. -
Swindon Vs Kings Lynn 21 August 2017

The irony of an ass hat, who is perpetually injured due to riding like a loony, coming out with a comment like that shouldn't be lost on anyone. -

Is this the right thread to start the discussion about banning Poles and Ekstraliga riders for 2018?

Poole Vs Rye House Thurs 10/8/17
CB252 replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Anything surrounding Poole speedway always smells a bit fishy. As much as we're all laughing out loud, part of the brain is still wondering what they're up to. Can't figure out how trimming averages and losing five straight at home and destroying your business would help in the long run, but I guess we'll see next year?
