Gustafsson's worth a try, in my opinion. I think he needs a change from Eastbourne and he can ride the Swindon track.

Ford did try to sign PK, once, but he made a complete fool of himself.

Who is this Peter Kildermand?

Wild Cards 2014

Swindon riders did, and I expect many others too! -
It's very disappointing that Doyle will not ride for us next year. I really thought he was nailed on to ride for us. Someone else will be very lucky though!

That statement from MF, was little more than a self parody. He must have known the absurdness of it. Well done to Kyle for showing Ford that he cannot always get away with treating riders like cattle, and well done to Coventry for out-doing the mighty Pirates! I'm enjoying next season already!

" in contravention of the rules and regulations within the sport" LOL, you could not make it up! Mind you,he should know, he's the expert on breaking rules! LOL!

Jesus! In very recent times glory Rory was public enemy number one to many Swindon fans, and if he doesn't sign for us, he probably will be again!

I think you'll find he had bigger fish to fry than bothering to put an effort into his league racing here.Typical of many foreign riders, unfortunately.

British Speedway Promoters Meeting
BritPete replied to dantodan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
So, Rider control returns! Interesting. Thank goodness the name has reverted to the "British League" I have been suggesting that for years. There's nothing pretentious in that name! -
There can be no doubt that the GP format is a lot fairer than the old one-off world final, but nothing can quite compete with the tension and excitement of the old finals, whereby one mistake, engine failure, or fall, would mean the end, because no one ever won a world title with less than 13 points. Qualification these days is much easier too, at least for the riders already included, I mean finishing in the top eight should not be too hard for the top riders, and even if that fails, then a wildcard is always possible. Overall, I just about prefer the GP series, mainly because the system is fairer, and in the old one-off days the best 16 riders in the world were never in the final.

I've always thought it would be a non-starter.

I've never heard of parking on the centre green before, and it seems very dangerous to me.

Ditto Kennett. If you'll excuse my ignorance! LOL!

It seems to be that he was miffed for not winning the award.

I'll believe the new stadium when I see it

It seems very strange to build a care home close to a speedway track, but it's by no means a new idea. Where did your info come from? If it's not secret!

The second half disappeared for two reasons: Firstly, the truth is that most fans left as soon as the match was over, and the terraces were virtually empty. Secondly, more and more riders were getting permission from the referee, to leave early, and miss their races because of other racing commitments. That's how I recall it, anyway.

Birmingham V Poole Grand Final 2nd Leg
BritPete replied to pirateandi's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
They had fireworks on that night? Well, that puts Matt Ford to shame, eh? -
Poole V Birmingham 1st Leg Grand Final
BritPete replied to pirateandi's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
On the night, Poole were looking for a 7 point win, and as soon as they got 7 points ahead, the track became too dangerous all of a sudden. The whole thing was utterly shambolic. -

Maybe not to win by the required amount though. -

Middlo made a complete fool of himself with those tweets, and then again with his silly outburst on TV, when he said the ref. got the exclusion wrong. Maybe some of Darcy Ward traits have rubbed of on him! He certainly lost all his credibility there and then.....what little he had left! This seems to be a thread for a certain Matt Ford, apologist, but he should convince no one. That meeting was a clear case of Matt Ford getting exactly what he wanted, regardless of rider safety. What a shame Iversen came to grief while he was leading, because on that form he looked capable of beating anyone, and no way was that meeting bound to have gone Poole's way.
