BritPete replied to Mjolnir's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
30 year old songs are far to recent.Let's go back to the 50s and 60s! Let's rock and roll! -

BritPete replied to Mjolnir's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well, I suppose after 8 races for us, 4 of which were at Lakeside, I suppose the die is cast. -

In his column in the Swindon Advertiser, Klindt as good as said that he cannot beat draft riders unless he out-gates them. Good riddance. -

Pedersen is our biggest let down tonight, but our Pk, is sensational. (apart from trying too hard in heat 11) -

At least Dakota is putting in a huge effort. If Klindt had done the same, he would still be in the team. -

If we get within 10 points, it will be a revelation. If we get a point, it will be a miracle. If we win the match, then there really is a God. -
Birmingham V Poole Ela 23/4/14
BritPete replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It's Birmingham's to lose, in my opinion. -
What an amazing comment. The winter of discontent was all about the super-vindictive Matt Ford, because Coventry went there and dared to beat Poole to the title. Even Rosco said later: " I wish we had never won the league"

A good meeting, in the end. Cook was crap!

This this thread is more entertaining than the meeting (and that wasn't bad!) Nothing has been decided this season yet, and things can get better. Let's see where we are after couple of months. -
That could have been the night they wanted to test his engine, but when they told him they would not put it together again,he refused and left.

Did someone say that Smolinski would be outclassed in the GP series? Darcy had a rough night, he didn't have the speed at all. There was nothing deliberate about Smolinski's crash with Ward,he just hit a rut the same as batchelor did earlier. -
It's far to early in the season to come to decide much about this Swindon team. It's worth noting though, that 5, of our 6 remaining riders, all managed to win a heat. The best is yet to come! Well done Coventry, you deserved the win.

Lakeside Hammers V Swindon Robins Ela 28 March
BritPete replied to TonyE's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Gustafsson was a bit disappointing, but then again, Lakeside is hardly the best track to use as a form guide. Not a bad start to the season for us at all! -

They should have brought in a Romanian. -
Swindon V Poole Elite Shield 1st Leg. 27/3/14
BritPete replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well, they certainly called this meeting of early, it's dry with the sun shining here, and the forecast does not look that bad.. Maybe they should have waited a while. -
